Mmmm… roti and pumpkin curry. So gewwd. And our server was the sweetest woman. She seemed so happy to seat us and just had this hospitable demeanor about her. No one was really dining in. You can tell most of the nights orders came through take out, but who wouldn’t wanna come in and experience this womans warm service! :) Will definitely be back

I’ve been to this restaurant twice now and what I do like is how nice and quaint it is. I believe it’s newer, so very clean and modern. The people working there are extremely kind as well! The only disappointment is how small their portions are. Based on their pricing(comparable to the rest), they should not be serving appetizer-like portions.

Ok, I already had my favorite Thai restaurant, but now I think I have to re-considerate it because this place has one of the best Thai curry I’ve tried before! You won’t regret to try this little place.

A little gem! I’m so glad I’ve found this place. I order the green curry with tofu and veggie. I love the big chunks of soft tofu and sweet bell peppers. Lunch portion is small but very filling. Reasonable price and great customer service! Their Thai Tea is delicious! I highly recommend this place for delicious Thai food but parking is limited.

Firstly, the inside was very clean, and looked much nicer than the outside! Nice quiet atmosphere. food was also delicious: I got the pad thai and tom yum soup. It was exceptional alongside the service. Happiest and kindest waitress I’ve had in a while. Also very prompt. Highly recommend!

Delicious food and excellent customer service. Yellow chicken curry was delicious and lady rolls and their sauce were amazing.

Excellent thai food though bit pricey. Had red chicken curry which was pretty good. Above average food. Recommended. You can bring your boss or co-workers here from the office. Atmosphere is conducive to it.

Good food. Gentleman egg rolls are fresh. The pad thai is good and so is the see you. The only reason for not giving them 5 stars is the fact that they don’t check how spicy you want the noodles to be.

Lady Rolls are amazing I swear there’s crack in that sauce I could drink it! Spicy duck is recommended and don’t forget the rice. The owner is very nice and talks about his wife’s recipes, she is really rockin’. We drove around the block and parked on the side street, the parking sucks but the low price for the quality of service and food and this pretty restaurant is so worth it.

I think more people should know about this place! Nothing about my food was unsatisfactory and the décor was clean and classy. My party was the only one there which is surprising because the food really was that good. I don’t think it’s hard to find good Thai food especially in the Bay Area but I tried everyone’s food at the table and this struck me as better than a lot of the other Thai food i’ve had in South Bay(which is a lot, I love Thai food). What stuck out to me was the crab fried rice my friend had. I doubt it wasn’t frozen meat that they used but it was still super flavorful. I got red curry, and that was also very good. I just wish I didn’t have to order a side of rice(why is it that no restaurants in the area offer complimentary rice with curry? absurd). It’s a bit far from me; otherwise I’d be getting ALL my Thai fixes from Viva Thai.

I love Thai food, and this was a great little place. I had take out, ordering through Unilocal(which is through Eat24 if you didn’t notice) and the food was still piping hot when I got home. The flavors were excellent, medium spicy pad thai and medium spicy panang curry were just the right amount of heat for me. I got there and remembered that I had forgotten to start a batch of rice at home, so I asked if I could just buy a side with cash. It was at this point where the quality of service and the desire for repeat business came though. Not only did she just throw one in, she gave me a small thai iced tea(which was also tasty). I think it was because of the tip I added on the order. Which by the way, apparently doesn’t even get to the business owners(Eat24 takes a cut), so if you’re going to tip, I’d suggest giving them cash in person.

It’s nice to know that even as longtime favorites close down in Cupertino(I’m looking at you, J.T. McHart’s), new places are springing up and creating excitement all over again. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of food and the attentive service here. The four of us shared Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew(called See-U here), and a lamb & vegetable dish whose name escapes me. We also shared a crunchy crab appetizer and a mango & sticky rice dessert. All of the food was sublime! This place seems to be slightly overlooked due to being sandwiched in between two popular restaurants, but if you don’t let the full parking lot deter you, you’ll enjoy a very delicious meal with friendly staff and a good ambiance. Will definitely return, and soon!

TL; DR: This place is seriously good. Come for the roti and stay for the curry. Came here with a small group for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The appetizers seem a bit expensive but the portions are quite large. Our order of roti was ridiculously buttery and flaky, and gives Rama V a run for its money. The dipping sauce was delicious as well(but the buttery flaky goodness alone is quite satisfactory). A friend and I shared the Similan curry sea bass and Mango curry seafood. To be honest, the portion sizes were such that one of those dishes probably would have satisfied both of us, but we felt indulgent. The green curry was executed perfectly and the fish was cooked well. The mango curry was surprisingly good. The mangos add a sweetness that isn’t overpowering, and it pairs with the savory curry ingredients very well. Seafood was cooked perfectly. There were not many people there, but service was excellent and food came out in a timely manner. Contrary to the website we weren’t greeted with white tablecloths and wineglasses but the casual ambience suits the place well. This is definitely one of the better Thai restaurants in the area, on par with Rama V and the Krung Thai restros. It’s pretty much a hidden gem, sitting in the shadow of little sheep. This time around I went with friends who don’t enjoy spicy food. Next time we’ll see about amping up the spice level.

It was absolutely delicious. Get there early. The parking lot gets really full and then you’ll have to park in the residential neighborhood and walk. We had the pad thai, som tom(papaya salad), green curry and rice. It was all award winning delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing. Medium spicy on the som tom was hot by American standards. Luckily, I’m a fan of sweating while I eat. I can’t wait to go back for more of that spicy deliciousness. Service was on point. Water refilled before glass was empty, which is always greatly appreciated, especially when eating a proper Som Tom. Nice Thai music playing in the background. LOVELOVELOVE the menu item names as they brought back memories of being in Thailand. «Moon Party» if you only knew!

We decided to visit during their lunch hours because it was close to his work. There was no line, quick to take my order, and received our food in no time! Already a plus! The food was flavorful and fresh. Good sized portions with great prices. However, the chicken satay was far too pricey for 4 tiny skewers. We enjoyed the chicken pad Thai, green curry chicken and chicken satay. Their peanut sauce is superrrrr good too! We got 3 extra orders of this for our meal! :-) We’ll definitely be returning again to try other menu items.

Fairly new Thai restaurant sandwiched between the popular MoHoPo(Mongolian Hot Pot) and Mama Chen’s restaurant. Decided to give this place a try on Saturday for lunch. Upon entering, the restaurant was empty *cricket cricket* Honestly, I was probably the only patron there. Ordered the Roti as an appetizer($ 7.95). Pretty good and not like your typical roti prata; it’s flakier and crispier, though with much more grease as well! The red curry sauce that it came with, however, was bomb! For my entrée, I got the Pad Thai($ 11.95) as it came highly recommended by the waitress. Thin style noodles with generous portions of chicken and shrimp — flavors were spot on! Service was good, though food was definitely on the pricier side. Overall, this place is decent, but since there are plenty of great Thai options in the area and for cheaper $$, this place is probably not a place I would frequent.

Viva Thai Bistro opened up a few weeks ago, taking over the old Michelle Pancake Restaurant. The restaurant was surprisingly empty on a Sunday evening. Started off with the Roti which was tasty. Portions were surprisingly large. Pier 39 — 10 Salt & Pepper Prawns were decently sized and flavorful. — One of the highlights of the meal! Basil Beef — Beef was tough and was weirdly stir-fried…skip Crab Noodle — Mediocre as this dish initially came out too wet. — Flavoring was okay and crab quantity was also mediocre. Flying Chicken Wing — Decent and Unique. — 3 entire chicken wings that were fried and then sauced. …wasn’t super fresh but was decent. Service was friendly and welcoming by the staff. ~$ 36/head after tax and tip for dinner.

Looks like Michelle’s Pancakes is no longer. In it is a new solid Thai place. Unlike your average bay area Thai resto, Viva has a number of unique dishes that make up an expansive collection. We came for a late lunch, and there was only one other table. Got the King of Seas, Crab Rice Noodles, Fried Chicken Wings, and Lamb Panang Curry. Even though we got everything Thai spicy, it was still not too hot from relative terms. But the important thing is that the food is tasty, if a bit on the higher priced side. The wings in particular are fantastic. Curry dishes were solid and the prawns from the King of Seas are large but there are only three of them. Solid place, not the best price performance value but Id rather pay more for good flavor than less for average. 4.25 stars

I went to Viva Thai for lunch during the week. The space looks great! The staff were welcoming. Piw, the waitress, had great recommendations! The two of us got the medium versions of the papaya salad, beef salad, sweet basil seafood entrée, fried wonton and shrimp appetizers and chased it down with the Thai ice tea. It was the perfect amount! Can’t wait to go back and try other foods on the menu. If you want a nice ambiance to unwind during lunch and don’t want to smell like food, definitely check this place out!

Pretty good!!! Recently opened and I must say the clean ambiance and simplistic menu is awesome! I had the Panang fish(lunch portion) and my friend had the Pad Thai. Both delicious and flavorful! Thai tea was excellent as well. I will definitely be coming back.
