Came in for the lunch special D which included beef teriyaki, 4 pc California roll, and 4 pc Crunch roll. It was only $ 9.55 which was such a great deal! Comes with rice, soup, and salad as well. The portions were really good. I really liked the beef teriyaki — it was not too sweet, just right. I also liked the crunch roll although I think that if I had eaten it there the tempura shrimp in it would’ve been more crispy(it was a little soggy when I got home already). Just note that the lunch specials while cheap are cash only. The guy was really nice enough to put in my order for me while I went to go get cash. I did see there is free green tea ice cream with a check in but I felt bad to use it since I was doing take out. I’ll definitely be coming back! I also saw a sign that said they were closed on the first and third Sundays of every month, so just FYI.

I placed an order for pickup just a California roll and a hot night roll. The waitress said 10 – 15 mins when I placed the order. Got there about 10 mins after I ordered and went to the counter to pay. The waitress hardly even acknowledged me and as I put their business card I had down for stamps she completely ignored it and didn’t stamp it. So I sit down and wait for my food… For 25 more minutes!!! Keep in mind there are two parties sitting down eating who I later found out(because I was waiting so damn long) that they were family members and one of them was the owner!!! Didn’t even care that was there for almost a half hour. When I finally got my food I proceed to hand her my punch card again and then she stamped it with an attitude and rolled her eyes!

I wanted something really spicy to go so thought I would try this place. The girl at the counter was friendly and helped me finally decide on a hot night roll with extra sriracha on the side as I have been wanting super hot and spicy food. Good sushi, will be coming back again when I am in the area.

The rolls are delicious, theyre fresh and savory with a hint of japan. Each and every roll are special in their own ways that i have never tasted in other restaurants. The waitresses are nice and the manager is also a nice old lady. I go there often and the taste just makes me go «mmm» every single time i eat one of their rolls. Excellent

I have been going here for about two years now and it always satisfies my cravings! I’ve tried pretty much all the rolls now! I really enjoy the baked rolls. I have a stamp card too and once I get 16 rolls I’ll get my 17th free! The place is pretty small but usually not crowded so it works out perfectly. The lady who basically works the shop is very nice but if the restaurant is busy, it might take her a while to get back to you. Over all great food and I know I’ll keep going here.

Aki’s is a true Long Beach locals’ hang out and you can expect long waits on Friday and Saturday nights for the sushi bar. I’ve been coming to Aki’s for a while and it’s just as wonderful as the day I first found him. Aki used to be at the other place on 7th(Aki Sushi and Bai-Plu Thai) but this is his own place now. He has no affiliation with the other restaurant. This is a bit smaller, but still the same great sushi and people. The fish is super fresh, the atmosphere is great, and the people are incredible. Aki’s son Craig works there as well and either one will treat you well. Also, Alex is now a sushi chef and has been very loyal to Aki over the years — it is great to see the three of them working together. This was my old hang out several times a week before I moved back to Torrance, but I can still come back a couple times a year and nothing has changed, except a few new faces at the bar.

I called in first to try to get take out… And that was the worst experience of my life. We were both trying to be patient but there was a huge language barrier. So unless you speak Korean just go in and order. But otherwise the food is great. Sushi is always fresh and they are very friendly. A bit understaffed but it’s not a big chain store or anything. The décor is amazing. They really committed with the umbrellas and lights and stuff. A plus. Remember that for lunch they only take cash. No cards. Apparently Cause there’s so many specials. But do take advantage of the lunch special. It’s a great deal. There’s a lot of attention to detail when it comes to their food. And I appreciate that. You get complimentary miso soup. Even when you take out :) but just no ice cream :(I’d stay and eat in just for the green tea ice cream. #greenteaeverything

Was in the area with my mom and did a quick search and feel like I found my favorite new cheap sushi spot! I ordered the Salmon Bowl which had tons of veggies and salmon and rice. A side order of unagi and my mom got a chicken teriyaki bowl because she is generally afraid of sushi. Lol. We had miso and ice cream cone with our meal! Great service, so fast, and great prices! Mrs. Kim was very sweet. We will be back whenever in the area.

Wacky backy for Aki Sushi All inclusive = Count me in! Aki Sushi is a small sushi restaurant that has a little something for everyone — teriyaki, udon, soba, katsu, salad & curry to go along with their«bread & butter», sushi. Dining in gets the customer complimentary edamame, miso soup & green tea ice cream– Edamame– Miso soup– Green tea ice cream-Great on a hot day, the green tea ice cream had an icy texture besides the creaminess, which I quite liked. Baked spicy lobster roll– California roll topped with baked crawfish & smelt egg. Muy excelente! Not very large, nevertheless delicious & yummy in the tummy. Kinda messy to eat as each piece tended to fall apart, perhaps because of the heaping mess of wonderfulness on top, the baked spicy lobster roll had a generous amount of crawfish. I savored each piece, my tastebuds doing the dance of joy everytime. Lunch specials include teriyaki, rolls, salad & rice all for one low price. No alcohol served here. Service was good. The sole gentleman providing service was friendly & didn’t fret as I spilled some of the miso soup during my meal. Table seating for about 20 or so, Aki Sushi is a small eatery not good for large groups. Parking is in a private lot shared by Tambuli. I find Aki Sushi a great place for a casual meal, whether it be sushi or something else on the menu. I’m a fan of all the complimentary items, which would cost at least $ 3 at other places. I had difficulty deciding on which roll I wanted to try, as they all seemed appealing. Knowing that, I’ll have to become a regular to see which one I like best. And with low prices & diners being served a 4-course meal, it’s definitely a sure thing. Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

This is a very cute hole-in-the-wall«hipster» sushi restaurant. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but their sushi is actually pretty good! The pricing is about the same as NicoNico, but I honestly prefer coming here. This place is definitely the best sushi place I’ve been to in Cypress. The service was very nice. The lady was really friendly and came by whenever she thought we needed something. I will definitely be coming back when I have the time!

Been coming here for years. Their lunch menu is very good deal. They also give you a free ice cream when you eat at the restaurant. Service is fine(a bit slow but i’m okay with that). All in all, great price, good food.

This is our local mom and pop sushi restaurant, been coming here for years. Food is not fancy or anything but always satisfies me. Owners are super nice to us and they know all their regular customers. Free ice cream at the end of every meal. Good place for small groups too.

This place is the true definition of three stars, with a bit more work, they would definitely be five star worthy, but not as of now. Coming in, this place was a big hole in the wall. However, I appreciated that they had pictures of all of their menu items. I really appreciate it when sushi places do that because then I have a better idea of what I’m ordering. Echoing what everyone else said regarding the free miso soup. The soup was excellent! At most sushi places, their miso soup is too spicy, but this place was spot on with the flavor of the broth. They also gave us free edamame as well, so also an unexpected plus. I ordered the love roll which had spicy tuna, shrimp, and avocado with salmon on top. To go with it, I also ordered the hot night roll which had avocado, crab, and shrimp tempura with spicy tuna on top. Of the two, I really enjoyed the hot night roll, but I didn’t end up eating the love roll. The salmon looked kind of discolored to me and not very fresh, so my fiancé ended up eating that one(and he said he really liked it, but I didn’t want to take any chances). I also tried some of the popcorn lobster roll that my fiancé ordered, which I really ended up enjoying even though I’m not a big fan of those types of rolls. At the end, they gave us cookie dough and green tea ice cream. I had the green tea ice cream, and I liked it. It was really frozen at first, but once it softened, it was creamy and delicious. It was $ 45 for 4 rolls, with free soup, edamame, and ice cream. Service was okay. We got our food quickly, but my water was never refilled. My fiancé really liked this place and said we need to come back often and make this our«go to» place, but while I enjoyed that their rolls had a lot less rice than normal(score!) I didn’t enjoy the quality of the salmon(boo!).

Haven’t been back to this place since my sister graduated high school. So that’d be…5 years ago? I ordered a lobster roll and it was pretty good. They also give you complimentary miso soup and at the end, ice cream which is always a plus in my book. They are not as attentive to you though which sucks. It is a small hole in the wall sushi place. The rolls, however, are very affordable and pretty good. It’s not up there in the top ten, but it’s still good.

I’m glad my best friend showed me this place! It’s a little hole in the wall. I’ve probably drove past it many times without noticing it. The place on the outside and inside is average looking. I wouldn’t have expected the food to be that great. However, I was surprised by the size and quality of the rolls when they came out! I’m impressed! I can’t wait to come back and try other items on their menu. Pros: + Complimentary miso soup. + Pictures for each roll on the menu. + The rice has a vinegary taste, which I love! + The rolls were fresh & in generous portions for the price. + Free tea ice cream after your meal. + Frequent buyer card. Buy 16 rolls, get one free! — It’s a little hard to communicate with the older lady that works there since English is her second language. But she’s sweet and loves us!

+ Complimentary Miso Soup at beginning + Complimentary Ice Cream at the end(their ice cream is gooood. So good I usually get a cup to go, cost $ 2.50) + Fish are nice and FRESH! Rich in flavor and in color! + Rice is soft and tasty(I know to most people white rice is white rice, but its not. There are many different kinds of white rice which all have a slightly different texture and flavor) + Wasabi and Ginger are both fresh tasting and moist(they aren’t sitting out and drying up like other places) + Clean, spacious seating + Cute dish wear + Clean, good presentation + Free Refills — Service is a hit and miss — even though its the same lady who is always there, she is decently nice or rushy and rude, depending on her mood. — Slow Service — Not as attentive(then again its usually only that one lady working)
