Clean rooms, gentile service, great old fashion hotel. This place is a great choice. Location is good, it doesn’t offer a nice view of the lake, but it is on the lake. Indeed, the have a boat launch access! Mattresses are comfortable(an I’m picky on that), plus they provide good selection of TV channels, in case you felt inspired to cozy up on the bed till the storm is over(I tested that). Be aware that the breakfast is a joke, and the rooms are not sound-proof. Other than that, it’s a great lodging option for a short stay on the lake

My husband and I are on a road trip through the south. I found a groupon to Creekside and was so pumped to stay at a place on the water off the beaten path in AL. When we pulled up I was let down to discover that the lodge is right on the highway and away from the lake. You can see the lake past the cars, parking lot and other buildings. This was disappointment number one. We soon realized that the lake is dammed in the winter and so there is barely any water, so our plans to kayak the lake(one of our main reasons for going there) was not possible. This was disappointment number two. After a trip to Oskars and a glass of wine — we returned in hopes of getting in the warm hot tub! Nope — the hot tub was shut down! WTF! This was disappointment number three. To top it off, continental breakfast was comprised of Little Debbie like pastries, a few pieces of fresh fruit, juice and yogurt. It was something, I’ll give them that. I know that my expectations might have been higher regarding the breakfast, so I will take the blame for this part of the review. I felt led on by the website regarding the location, activities and amenities. With that said, our bed was comfortable and and Landon, the gentlemen working, was amazing! He is a keeper!

Clean spacious rooms. Owners extremely accommodating and friendly. Love the lodge décor especially the fireplace and comfy seating in the main lobby. We are making the Creekside Lodge our go to place whenever we return to Alabama.

Stayed in this lodge for a brief overnight visit to the Rodeo Club for the Texaco Country Showdown. This is not a typical«hotel» and is run much more like a B&B. We were last minute making the reservation(online) and the innkeeper was very gracious and accommodating for our late arrival. The rooms are huge and very nicely done. We were so impressed that we discussed a weekend get-away to this sweet find. The only critique would be regarding sound. Compared to other establishments, there is more sound transferred between the rooms. Might even be noisy in the right circumstances. I am very discriminate about my lodging(some may even say snobby) and I would return as a guest to Creekside without a doubt.
