I actually really like this store. I can do weekly grocery shopping here for a family of 2 for $ 50 or less and stock up for weeks. I usually get meat and fish and the other regular store. However, this store is great for snacks, lunches, some fruits, canned veggies and beans. I got a watermelon here and my boyfriend loved it. They have tea, coffee, yogurt, cheese, lunch meats, and all sorts of things. The produce I would say select carefully, but I love this place! Saves me a TON of money. If I bought all of the things I buy here at the Tom Thumb, it would cost about 5 times more to feed 2 people.

I love ths store is is a great big dollar store and you can find alot of things. I found Mgnum ice cram regularly $ 4 elsewhere for $ 1.50 here!!! The only bad thing is that once they sell out of something popular like that the likelihood of them carrying it again is very slim. so stock up if you see a good deal. I actually go out of my way to shop here. Prepare for it to be a busy place the lines are long but htey move fast.

I buy name brand groceries, fresh produce, and cheap school supplies here weekly. They have all those name brand cereal bars for only 99cents/box, Thick n Creamy yogurt for 49 cents, bananas for 99cents, Pillsbury and Tollhouse cookies for baking, Oscar Meyer balogna, the grown up lunchables, and those microwavable flat bread pizzas by all those healthy choice brands of food(especially the weight watchers entrees and desserts) all for 99 cents. You can even find discounted Dijiorno pizzas, pop tarts, and General Mills cereals. As far as school supplies, you can always find cheap poster board, staples, binder clips, tape, knockoff expo markers, etc. I also like to buy their cleaning supplies! Overall, I never go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart or any other place until I check the 99 cents only store first. I do not recommend this store, however, for someone who has a big family to feed. As a math teacher, I say you must pay attention to the unit price. If you’re going to buy a lot of something from the 99 cents only store, you may as well buy a bigger size from Wal-Mart or somewhere else for more money because you will get way more bang for your buck. If you’re not feeding a lot of people though, you will find great value at the 99 cents only store.(no pun intended wal-mart)

If one has patience and can understand that not EVERYTHING is a great deal, this is the place. Thankfully I’m bilingual and can get what I need as much of the staff only speaks spanish. Appreciate the organic selection, can NEVER find organics at a buck, and since I volunteer in an after-school program, picking up lots of fun items, arts, crafts, pens, sidewalk chalk, I can load up and not break the bank. Surprisingly, they accept credit cards, too, which is unbelievable at a dollar store. One last thing, this location is larger, well-stocked, however, the best selection days are on Tuesdays before noon.

I know, I know, four stars for a dollar store. Well, this my favorite of any dollar store I’ve ever been in. When I moved to the area I visited the store expected to find the usual chinese-made cheap crap, and while there is some of that there is also a pretty large grocery section, including produce. I’ve never seen that before. Yes, some of it isn’t the freshest, but some of it is. I go every few weeks and pick up things like Wyler’s Italian Ice pops, imitation thin-mint cookies, green peppers, potatoes, cans of veges, flower pots, etc. Yes, it’s a dollar store. Keep that in mind. But… for a dollar store, it’s pretty sweet.
