I’ve gone at night only. The first time I went was a fri night. It wasn’t over crowded. $ 10 cover. The bartenders make good drinks and fast. The men weren’t touchy like you find at clubs. The music was top 40 mostly hip hop. The 2nd time i went it was a Saturday. It was Super packed even though the fire marshal had just left. It was $ 20COVERFORLADIES! that’s ridiculous! The music was the more rap/hip hop Saturday. Likes: music, strong drinks, mature crowd Dislikes: cover charge, too packed

This place is closed. I got a certificate on , made a reservation on opentable, got there and discovered it was closed. This was 9 days ago. They said they were having a legal dispute with their building, but I was pretty pissed off.

Reviewing drinks at the bar only… Hosting about two dozen co-workers for a few drinks at the end of the day worked well here. We gathered around a corner quadrant of the bar and were constantly well looked after by the bartenders. The bottle wine values were outstanding — probably just because glasses of wines were so overpriced. But they offered bottles for 2+½ times the glass price. So I picked a couple bottle of decent wine and they did a great job of offering those wines as people arrived. Plus they made some great cocktails on request. The atmosphere is well done, making this a very appealing stop after work. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

I’m not sure what all the non-fuss is about but this is Dallas. I lived here in the mid-90’s and moved back here very recently. While I recognized the woman who are over-made up and excessive I’m somebody activity… this place is first rate. The food is fantastic! The only thing I tasted that was eh were the spring rolls… I suggested they add cilantro, but will see if it happens. The pot roast is sickly good, I mean rotten good. I also had the tuna tataki which is fabulous and the meatloaf… all highly recommended. I live local and I can attest to the friendliness of the bartenders at this establishment. So the food AND the drink are really fantastic. Maybe I’m just new, or people don’t know where the hell they are, but this is Dallas baby and you’d better bring your attitude to the show wherever you go. All this talk about a bad door girl and costs… seriously, get over yourself. If you know how to act, how to enter an establishment and how to be fed or entertained… then you will love am/pm. Come on in, sit down, enjoy your service, food and drink… because this is fantastic for downtown cuisine.

AMPM, a venue that lives up to its name, is a stylish upscale restaurant that caters to downtown Dallas hipsters. Located in the historic Mosaic Building in the core of downtown, everything from the location to the events held is tailored specifically for the young, urban-professional crowd. Upon arrival to the Mosaic-nested venue, a set of downward spiraled stairs gives you a perfect view of the restaraunt. Glimpses of silver, sexy disco balls hang glittering from the ceiling, providing the bar’s black granite counters a perfect accent. The main bar is usually busy with patrons conversing, flirting and enjoying the great specialty beverages, and if you are in for lunch or dinner the environment is chill with people eating and socializing leisurely. You will also find others having casual business meetings. AMPM has several flat screens conveniently situated throughout the space, so for soccer or baseball fans, it’s the perfect place to catch those early afternoon games, and the food is quite tasty. The menu features an all-American cuisine with selections such as Chicken and Dumplings, Parmesan-truffle French Fries, Kobe meatloaf and Blackened Snapper Tacos. The Morroccan Spiced Chicken with Lemon & Saffron broth served with cous cous is simply divine. If you’re looking for a beverage that is sweet, colorful and has just enough kick, The Flyin’ Hawaiian, a house specialty drink, which is a mix of X-Rated liqueur, Tuaca and pineapple juice is always in demand. In addition to afternoon business lunches and a place to meet your favorite people for dinner, AMPM is worth considering for birthday parties, corporate events and other special occasions. This was the place to be during the 2010NBA All-Star Weekend, not surprising considering the incredible line up of celebrity appearances and performances, including Drake & Lebron James as well as its close proximity to the American Airlines Center and downtown location. Star-studded appearances have included an event hosted by Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Vivica A. Foxx and a recent event featuring the Alley’s House Charity Fundraising Initiative hosted by designer Nicky Hilton. It is also the official nightclub venue of Remi Ayodele of the Superbowl Champion New Orleans Saints. Dallas promoters along with their fanbase love this spot and schedule the cities biggest events here. Joey the GM and the special events coordinator Jonathan, have a reputation for world class entertainment. It’s almost as if they wave a magic wand that sprinkles pixie dust after the restaurant closes and transforms it into a club with V.I.P tables and bottle service. This will definitely be one of the venues to watch during SuperbowlXLVs coming to Dallas in February 2011. AMPM’s combination of locacation, décor, food, drinks and celebrity appearances makes it a sure fire destination for those living in and visiting Dallas

Can’t speak on the food. Came here for a WACK party the night of the Pacquaio fight, but whatever I was meeting people there. I think they were charging $ 10 per person at the door at like 1:30 am. Really guys? I mean, I still managed to spend like $ 65 in the short time I was there. But I didn’t care for being nickled and dimed at the door. Especially considering how dumpy and cheesy the inside is.

Its official! I’m a Fan, I had the luxury of going to this Restaurant in my neighborhood on back to back visits and i must say that it was well worth it. The first nite i went with a dear friend who made a fan out of me efforlessly i tried the Chicken and Waffles but substituted the Fried Chicken with the Moroccan Chicken and it was memorable. The Waffles were very fluffy and the syrup was pure sin. The Chef also sent apetizers on the house(I guess i have that effect wherever i go) they were Pineapple Sashimi which was quite interesting. My friend had the Flying Hawaiian and i could tell by the look on her face it was a winner. She decided to have the Pan Seared Salmon i think which came well presented with the salmon stacked over mushrooms and all the works. The Salmon came out medium which was a perfect fit. The Restaurant wasnt busy at all but the service was still adequate. The surroundings are very trendy and Contemporary and they have very cozy and private parts of the restaurant which will be cool for someone on a date. Fast Forward to the next nite i was tempted to try out the Chicken and Waffles again,(Maybe cos i found out Grand Marnier was infused into the syrup for it to taste so good) but restrained myself and ordered the Kobe Meatloaf which was very tasty and edible with Mashed potatoes and Asparaquas stacked in between the Meat. My Friend ordered the Moroccan chicken with Couscous which for the first time in a long time that i had some well prepared couscous and wasnt dry. We also had the Wild mushrooms ravioli which is addictive but let me remind you that you only get 3 raviolis which is like a sub apetizer. Since i am a downtown native i think i will be adding AMPM Lounge to my numerous list of where to take the Suburbanites if and when they come visiting.

Came here for a friends birthday. I had a great time because of the company I was with… however, the lounge itself was less than exciting. The door girl had an attitude and wouldn’t even look at my friend when my friend politely asked for her passport. This is the face of your nightclub? OK… miserable girl, you might want to smile or at least acknowledge us since we just payed $ 10 to get into the clubhouse of an apartment complex. I actually walked through a crowd of people not realizing there was a dangerous step that I narrowly missed causing me to land on both of my knees. OUCH!!! I have two enormous bruises to remind me. I guess Saturday nights is asian night… one of my white guy friends told me that he was being harrassed for not being asian and was told to «get the f*ck out of here». Thats pretty lame. Just in case a fight did break out(which we all know is pretty common in Dallas) there were enough cops to put your mind at ease. all in all, this place was ok. one word: MEDIOCRE

The food is absolutely remarkable. I’ve tried everything from the meat loaf(not your mama’s) and chicken & waffles to the salmon and rib eye; it’s all amazing. The chef puts an interesting twist on all the dishes. The service has always been good, even when I went with a group of eighteen. Some of the drinks are a little pricey, but the Flyin Hawaiin, their signature drink, is worth the cost.

Pretty cool place, but the menu was pretty boring! The bathrooms are out in the lobby of the apartment building and freezing cold — yuck! The food was good, but we only had soup and sandwiches. This cool atmosphere should bring a more creative menu.

This might not be a fair review since I’ve only been here once and will probably never be back. Then again«you never get a second chance to make a first impression». I have a friend that lives at the Mosaic Lofts, and AMPM Lounge is located in the same building. Since I found myself in downtown with one of my other friends this past weekend, I called my friend up to see about stopping by. He was down the street, but was going to meet us at his loft. We decided to go to AMPM and have a drink while we waited. We definitely were not dressed the part for this bar, but settled at two bar stools near the end of the bar. There were several bartenders working, and they were busy. It took a good ten minutes before anyone acknowledged us to get our drink orders. I ordered one of the specialty martinis. Something with chocolate and coffee. It was a decent martini, but nothing really special. My friend ordered a vodka martini and it came in a tiny martini glass and it tasted like well vodka. That would be fine if both those martinis didn’t cost us $ 22. I’m not immune to paying for top notch drinks(think Victor Tangos, Hibiscus, etc), but I better get what I pay for. We didn’t feel we did. Top that off with shitty service and that’s why I only gave two stars.
