The octopus and schnitzel are pretty good and came out hot and fresh. Waitstaff is friendly and my dog seemed like she had a good time on the patio in the back — had to use the back entrance. would go there again. The rabbit was a little dry but flavor was good — I’ll chalk the dryness up to how busy they were. Drinks were good as well — nice balance of flavors and a decent punch of alcohol.

The staff was exceptional! Our waitress was very nice and made sure we were a priority while we were there. Being a Sunday night they were packed but they did have room to sit to enjoy a late night dinner. The music and atmosphere was great for a dive bar. I ordered the burger which was amazing! The 4 year old cheese was kind of strong for my taste but others might like it. I would get the burger again for sure but will sub the cheese for normal American. I also ordered the samosas which were very flaky and delicious. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a appetizer or just something on the side of the burger

Food was great surprise! Honestly i didn’t expect it to be so good. The only place to find some food on this Monday 11:30 p.m. Monday is pretty dead here in uptown Dallas but Armoury DE has some people, which is a point compared to other places around

This place is hip, has amazing drinks and a great patio out back. I believe it has been here less than a year. We grabbed a drink and headed out back on a fantastic spring night. I liked the crowd here: hip, but chill. People were super cool and polite. They also have some great absinthe choices!

Great first time here a few days ago. Menu is pretty extensive and the craft beer and cocktail selection is great. Our waitress, Morgan, was awesome and super attentive. She picked out all the meats and cheeses on the charcuterie board and it was awesome! Apparently she works at Dallas beer kitchen as well so she told us she does a lot of charcuterie boards for them too.

This place is by far my favorite place to visit in Deep Ellum. Armoury D E is a craft drink bar that has an outstanding rotation of craft beers as well. I have heard people say that it is a hipster crowd and I would have to disagree. Armoury brings people from all walks of life that have one thing in common, great taste for great drinks. My personal favorite is the Bonnie and Clyde. It is a perfect combination of bourbon, bitters, and smoke to bring my taste buds watering as I type this review. I have tasted most of the drinks on the menu and I must say, I have not been disappointed. Now lets talk about the food. It is regional hungarian fair that has its own twist. My go to every time I am in is the Charred Pulpo(fancy talk for cooked octopus). Calling it calamari would be an insult. Served with some magically white wine sauce just brings it all together. The staff are awesome and one of the owners is almost always in the building helping out the staff. When busy, yes, it can take sometime to get a drink but hey, it works like that anywhere, they are not magicians. Also note that if you want an outstanding cocktail, it needs to be crafted, not just poured from some pre-made bin. Long story short, if you haven’t been, you are missing out. They now have a patio out back and a live band a few times a week. Stop by, say hello, and introduce yourself to someone and relax. Cheers!

I kind of stumbled upon this place by accident(I wrote«stumbled» not«staggered» so don’t make any assumptions!). I’m glad I did. After a quick Unilocal review check, I decided on a cheeseburger. The bartender was excellent… friendly without being a pain in the ass, good recommendations on add-ons to the burger(he said I should try the«duck bacon» … imagine that, «side meat» from a duck, but he said he wasn’t kidding. Sadly, it ended up they were out of it). Good cold beer, excellent burger, nice atmosphere. The menu is very interesting… lots of variety for a bar. I will return.

Craving beer and bar food, I recently came here with two friends on a Friday night. Armoury had a pretty good beer selection, but I stuck to my usual — the Deep Ellum IPA. A safe bet for hoppy-beer lovers. My friends had cocktails and seemed to enjoy what they ordered. For food, we shared the samosas and brussels sprouts. The samosas were served with a side of curry-like sauce and were SOOO delicious. More soft than crispy compared to samosas I’ve previously had, but so delicious. I ordered another serving after helping my friends finish theirs. The brussels sprouts were also delicious — tender with a lovely parmesan flavor. I also liked the vibe of Armoury. It had the typical laid-back Deep Ellum vibe. Plus, they had a fun music playing while we were there… It sounded like a mix of old school hip hop and maybe even some new-wave type music. I asked our server about the music and he told us it was a random mix from he-didn’t-know-where. I have a feeling I may bump up Armoury to 5 stars after another visit and a chance to explore more of their food menu.

My first visit wasn’t my favorite because I wasn’t in the mood and wanted to be somewhere else. This place puts some effort into their cocktails, so don’t expect low prices. They’re average prices for craft cocktails but not what many people expect from Deep Ellum. However, it blends well with what DE is becoming. They also offer beer and cider. The charred pulpo is the reason I returned. A friend gave me a bite during my first visit. I returned and ordered it myself. I almost ordered a salad in addition to the octopus. However, the Octopus is a large enough portion that you don’t need sides unless you feel guilty about only eating octopus and no greens. The spices, oil, & lime pair well with the charred tentacles. This isn’t Japanese porn, but I will forever dream of those tentacles inside my mouth.

«You want to go get some Hungarian food?» I’m sorry. What? WTF is Hungarian food? Delicious. That’s what it is. Came here with a friend and ordered the menu. Beautifully cooked Octopus with this best spiced butter I’ve ever had. Meat and cheese board with all kinds of unique Hungarians sausages and cheeses. Deep fried bread with three sauces. HOLYOMGBRUSSELSPROUTSTHATARESOGOOD. Chopped ribeye in a savory sauce. A wonderful whiskey cocktail, and a bottle of red wine. Worth the wait if there aren’t any seats available. Grab a cocktail and hangout. Staff were awesome. They’ll get you taken care of.

Party of 8 arrived at 12:30pm on a Sunday… no wait to grab a table(which is 1st come/1st serve/seat yourself). This is a small space without many options for large parties so I was happy we were able to slide into the corner(we ended up borrowing a chair from another table). Food was between«A-Okay» and«Fan!» Atmosphere was great, service was a okay. They have a long bar that spans the length of the restaurant and a high top table seating area just off the bar. Wasn’t expecting this… but the full menu is *not* available during brunch hours. Luckily I was able to order the charred pulpo, and settled on a BLT(it’s called a Scat something or another sandwich) with extra chipotle mayo on the side… the dish is served with these skillet potatoes that were addictive – perfect crisp and flavorful potatoes. The sandwich was maybe a 2.5 out of 5… pretty boring and basic… not a lot of bacon. The octopus was more of a 4/5…darn tasty and far from«chewy.» I’d return to try other items on their full menu and maybe a cocktail. Cool, laid back vibe.

Great burger(especially the bites with the aged cheddar), excellent cheese board, tasty fried meatballs, cool atmosphere, and a well made old fashioned. The only thing that was just ok were their fries. They could have been thicker and slightly more dynamic. Service was genuinely nice and food came out super quick. A Deep Elum must stop.

They automatically got 5 stars rating with out-of-this-world/best-I’ve-ever-had octopus and extremely friendly waitress! If you love octopus/squid/calamari/cuttlefish, you HAVE to try their octopus. It was so good I couldn’t believe I was eating octopus. From the texture to the flavor. Doesn’t matter what I have to say here, it wouldn’t do them justice. You just have to try it for yourself ;) Along with the friendly and attentive waitress that we got, their drinks are not for the faint of hearts. They definitely do not skim on the alcohol. I been meaning to come back here for the octopus again and other items on the menu but still haven’t gotten the chance yet. Armoury DE, we shall meet again!

After coming across Prince’s review noting the«smoke infused old fashioned», I was immediately sold and changed my plans and ventured straight to this spot for my first drink in DE. I love the industrial vibe. Brick walls, bookcase bar shelving w/ladder, dim hanging lights. It was fairly busy for 7:30pm on a Saturday. I really wanted to eat here, but we had some friends joining us and they felt the prices were a little too steep for them, so we only had a couple drinks. I promise to come back here to try the food and more craft drinks and update my review. Until then, I will say the old fashioned was exactly how I expected it to be. The smell of smoked cedar each sip, is a brilliant twist and now I never want to drink another old fashioned unless it is made this way! I am also a sucker for apricot beer and anytime I find a place that serves some, I have to order it. Our server Diana, was really sweet. Will definitely be back and hope to find a seat at the bar to watch the men with awesome beards prepare me even more awesome drinks!

Biking down Elm in October it was easy to reminisce about being in one of the many cute neighborhoods in Portland. Behind a brick wall with not much of a sign Armory DE hides a pulsating heart and, yes we are in Dallas, a soul. The menu is elevated bar food. The décor is just a dimly lit brick building with a good sound track. I almost thought for a second people in Dallas wrote poetry and intellectually talked about politics, and might even value a pursuit of morality over one of materialistic possession. That’s big boy pants for just a bar, which armory DE is, but we are hungry to be more. Which might explain the popular reception of armory DE whose created vibe and style is obviously from someone who has a broader sensibility than trophy club suburbia or Mckinny avenue uptown. I wanted a meat and cheese plate but it seemed a lot for one person. The waitress said the best thing on the menu was the burger. She said it was the best burger she ever had. «Yeah, I’m that person.» She said. Ok. We’re in Dallas. The thing is — people in Dallas just want hamburgers, enchiladas for ethnic splurge, washed down with hot wings, nachos, or spaghetti and meatballs. They don’t want anything else, so that’s not armory DE’s fault. The burger had a big buttery bun which really turns me off. I know some people like that. The patty was good quality but overly salty. It was just so rich. The fries were very good but the portion was out of control. Id probably never get the burger again because that bun is gonna give me nightmares. It wasn’t the best burger I ever had. It was just too buttery and rich for my taste. Armory DE isn’t as cool as Id hoped it would be. But it looks cool. The people that go there seemed cooler than most people in uptown. But it’s still Dallas. You can take the girl out of Dallas but you can’t easily take Dallas out of the girl. The menu has some Hungarian items like chicken paprikash. I should’ve gotten that. The pork belly fritters sounded disgustingly heavy to me, and so did the fried duck wings. Small patio

Deep Ellum continues to impress me with it’s new additions. The latest newbie on the block is Armoury D.E. and what a cool place this is. Firstly we just went here for cocktails. My favorite in this area is black swan but we heard this new spot was great.. and it was. The guy serving(maybe joint owner) said they never really intended to be known as a craft cocktail place… but they do it so well. The drinks are wonderful and created with such artistic flair I could have been in a nyc speakeasy. We didn’t even give the food a second look as I hadn’t heard anything big about the menu. However a couple of cocktails in and we ordered the charcuterie board and the goulash. NEWSFLASH.. the food is legit! The interior of Armoury is all wood and metal so it has an industrial look to it but cozy and welcoming. Awesome new spot.

The Armoury D.E. is everything that I love about a neighborhood bar. It’s convenient location makes it a easy starting point for the evening or it makes a great place for a night cap. When you open the large wooden front door, you enter a bar with it’s own vibe and energy. Armoury is a bit dark and with it’s cool temperature, it could be a European dungeon. The bar staff are experts with flavors and liquor. It has the positive side of craft drinks, with out the pretentious D-baggery. You will find the drink menu pretty extensive, but it’s worth finding something that works for you. If you’re a fan of Old Fashioned. I recommend you ordering the Bonny & Clyde. While you are there, don’t sleep on the food menu. Food is served nightly til 2am! Which is rare in Deep Ellum. On our recent visit, I had the S & M salad. For me it was a perfect choice. Between the beverages, the salad and eating outside on the back patio; I was in heaven. Prices are fair. Dinner for 2 with beverages was around $ 50. Try to find that with out the corporate chain. Parking: It’s Deep Ellum normal. Parking meters on the street. Paid parking lot or just use Über.

Off the bat this place is awesome, try it out this quickly came up as my favorite new spot in deep Ellum. Décor and vibe are a mixture of prohibition area, exposed brick with a bit of a dive bar esc feel. Once you see the alcohol selection and the craft cocktail angle of this establishment you quickly realize that it’s anything but. The drinks are amazing; we tried the peach cream Bourbon and the spicy tequila infused cocktail both top notch with craftsmanship technique. Think blow torch. The real star of the show hear is surprisingly the food. The pork fritters were highly recommended and did not disappoint. The Mecca of food here though it’s clearly the octopus. It’s a must try for any food person in Dallas. It was real to perfection and was juicy and very meaty when you asked the bartender or any staff member their eyes glow with enthusiasm towards this dish. Overall come here, order the octopus and choose a beverage of choice and enjoy a meal.

The space here is pretty simple. It’s all wood and iron, but feels cozy and warm, even at 6pm on a hot summer Tuesday. There are about 15 seats at the bar. A few tall tables and then a long booth on the wall with shorter tables. Basically, there’s plenty of seating. I’ve only tried the burger and a little piece of Kaia’s octopus(not a euphemism) and it was delicious. The burger is a rib/brisket blend and cooked pink it was very juicy and tasty. The pickles, onions and cheese gave the burger more great flavor. It was very messy to eat, but I devoured almost the entire thing. Thought the fries were great too. A little crunch on the outside and soft of the inside. Friendly bartenders in a chill place with great drink and food. What more could you want?

Run, do not walk to Armoury D.E. — really! Seriously guys, the pulpo(octopus) is so amazing it will change your life. I saw the picture and wasn’t sold, but I ordered it anyway because, well, YOLO(as Prince’s aunt’s shirt says). It was tender, easy to cut, even with a butter knife. So hard to get octopus that easy to cut and eat. No rubbery mess here. Tender charred tentacled vittles! Didn’t even need the clarified butter sauce accompaniment. The limes were enough. I know, octopi are smart, and I prefer to limit my dining to less intelligent animals/plants, but jeez, you have to at least have Armoury’s version once in your life. It’s only $ 13 to boot, and there’s a ton of it. Even though it’s listed as an app, it filled my hollow leg up to my crotch. The brussel sprouts were fantastic as well — $ 5.50 for about a 2 cup serving of halved sprouts with tons of lemon and parmesan. These aren’t charred or fried, and you can order them without any meat involvement(presumably there is normally some pork based item in there). Wines by the glass around $ 7 – 9. Cocktails around $ 10. Wide assortment of beers both local, domestic, and foreign, organized by flavor profile. Look for the big A over the door, across from Green Room.
