Bailiwick Apartments

Im very happy with this place. I read the other reviews. While I sympathize with them, one of the main reasons I am happy is because I socialize with people. I enjoy visiting with my neighbors and I keep my place clean. That helps a lot in not being infested with anything. Also, not purchasing used furniture goes a long way in not getting bedbugs. Great location, great property manager, wonderful owner, awesome maintenance guy and wonderful parties. Its a great place. You get out of it what you put into it. Dont like it, move somewhere else, but you will be hard pressed to find rent this inexpensive so close to Uptown and Highland Park. To each his own, but Im happy! Wish I had moved in year ago…

You cannot find a better place to live in Dallas. The buildings are remodeled and beautiful. The landscaping is spectacular. The building management is top notch. The rental rates are extraordinary. I have thoroughly enjoyed living in these apartments. And I am not the only one. Many of the residents have lived here five years or more. One resident is like the Dean of Bailiwick. He has been here 25 years. The reason people stay is because you are not going to find a better place to live in Dallas. The lawns and pool are maintained weekly. The onsite maintenance is quick and efficient. There are a couple of former residents who were problems and the management scooted them right out the door and off the property, so don’t mind the naysayers. The Bailiwick Apartments is a fantastic, safe, and affordable place to lay your head and/​or get to know your neighbors. I LOVE IT!

I have nothing but GOOD things to say about Tree-​Top apartments, fresh flowers planted, hallways and front porches always swept clean, lawn watered and mowed as needed weekly, maintenance done within 24 hours of an issue, only had to make 4 calls in 3 ½ years living here, swimming pools always kept safe and clean, great location as well. Covered parking, fireplaces in some units, too much closet space available, my only complaint as a single man. One closet is empty, but now is filled with other items and that is good! Otherwise a great place to live if there is an opening. Oh I forgot, all bills paid as well! :) A «genius» place to live!

While I liked this place when i first moved here, it wore off. The positives of being here is that the area is great, with lots of places to eat and in proximity to uptown area of Dallas. That said, the negatives are many: the apartments are old and not maintained greatly, with the management dismissive of requests to fix things sometimes. more importantly (and as Lori said) BEDBUGS! we told the management there was bedbugs and they didn’t act fast until we practically threatened (and literally caught a bed bug in a bag and took it into the office), and even then the response was very mediocre, someone supposedly came in and sprayed but the bedbugs were there, well and happy. We ended up throwing most of our new furniture, which then sat in the trash collection for more than a week without being taken away, even though we asked management to have it picked up due to said bed bugs. Other bugs also abound in the complex, with lots of roaches seen regularly, and in general cleanliness was not a big part of this complex. Other matters include sketchiness, the complex in not closed/​gated and sometimes you will find occasional homeless people, once someone crazy/​drunk/​agitated was yelling and screaming and pounding on random doors around midnight. Also, there are only 4 washers and 4 driers, with many people not taking out their clothes in time, making it an annoying wait.
Again, it was a good area to live in (and it was quite cheap), and in general I was satisfied while I was barely spending any time at home due to work pressure, but once the bed bugs came along and I had to deal with the complex and management, i do NOT recommend this place.
