Had lunch there today. Last couple of times I’d been to Dickey’s for lunch the meat was left over from the day before. So I tried Bakers. Lemme tell you, this place puts Dickey’s to shame. Brisket that is fork tender and moist and juicy and well smoked. Absolutely perfect. I also got the ribs. OMG they were good. Fall off the bone tender and great flavor. Sadly the pinto beans didn’t hit the spot, result in only four stars. Could have been more tender and with more bean flavor. They were OK but not much to my liking. Mac and cheese was tasty. Overall well satisfied. No more Dickey’s for me.

Stopped here one night after doing some shopping. They have fairly reasonable prices and their brisket has a good smoky flavor. I got a brisket plate with a baked potato which for a foil wrapped potato was pretty good. The serving was quite large and I took some home for another meal. Décor was your quintessential cowboy BBQ place, staff was very nice, helpful and courteous.

Ermegerd… Love Baker’s. It’s just a solid place on both the BBQ and the sides. The sauce has that just right combination of flavors. I’ll eat me some fancy ‘que if the occasion warrants but Baker’s can always be counted on to be consistent. Staff at this location are super friendly too. Ribs are my favorite for being just-right-tender and lots of meat on that bone!

Only had the fried pies through the drive thru. Peach, apricot, pecan and apple. They give them to you cold. Could stand to have a little more filling. Happy with the taste of the filling of all but the outside tastes a little like the grease was old

I give this place 3 stars– food is good! Staff on the other hand has the worst customer service. The give you what you ask but they will argue in front of customers. The two ladies were arguing about getting a second set of condiments for a Bake Potato. — I was a second away asking them to zip it and cash is out.

This is one of the most delicious bbq places I’ve been to here in Dallas! Ample parking, very spacious inside, old school Texas feel, the country music selection is nice. The food is delicious! We had a pulled pork sandwich, the pork was tender, the bun was steamed and buttered, and the sauce … SAUCEOME! It comes in a squeeze bottle, so you can add as much or little to your preference. The sauce is served warm in the bottles and is a thin, vinegar based sauce! SOGOOD! Also, the fries were perfectly golden and seasoned. They also have ice cold beer in the coca-cola fridge, a must have for a good bbQ place. All this combined with fried apple pies, and the perfect ratio of co2 in the fountain Dr. Pepper, makes this the perfect Sunday afternoon Dallas BBQ place!

Really like this place, usually delicious, big portions and some pretty lean meats. Some of the cooks are definitely better than others. Staff is meh

Too inconsistent. And lately more miss than hit. Meat is dry and frankly unfit for consumption more than 50% of the time. It is too bad, as this used to be my go to BBQ joint.

I’ve been coming to this Baker’s Ribs since they were located on Greenville Ave(20+ years). I always got the stuffed baked potatoes with all the fixings and meat on top. It was and still is great. Now that I’ve gotten older I tend to stick with the meats and sides. I ordered the triple meat plate on Dec 26th around 8pm. The service was friendly and the place was pretty empty. I got the Ribs and sausage(to share) and the turkey. For sides I chose the pasta salad and beans. Everything was good I just thought the meat would be really smoky and flavorful because the place smells soo good from the outside. Overall OK place if you’re in the area and want BBQ.

I know that we arrived at 830p but don’t pour out the tea right at 9. The ribs, baked potatoes, mac and cheese and potato salad were good but fries and beans are not.

We stopped in here today for lunch. I’m a born Texan, so BBQ is very important! I ordered the Brisket sandwich basket. It’s a sandwich and fries. I thoroughly enjoyed my juicy brisket. The buns were perfectly buttered/greased. He ordered the Ribs plate . I tasted some of the ribs and they were pretty tender. None of the meats needed sauce. The fries I had were ok. Nothing spectacular. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch and can only really speak for the chopped brisket, which was great! I didn’t get a chance to try a pie, but I will next time . This is not the best BBQ I’ve had, but it was good and hit the spot today.

My best friend and his wife are housebound. I pick up food for them at least once a week and deliver and have dinner with them. When they said they wanted BBQ and told me this place was close I went by to get order to go. I had a bad feeling when I walked in because I remembered I had been there before. I thought«Uh Oh. if I haven’t been back there must be a reason». There was no business, though that might be because it was 6ish and too early, but it allowed me to talk direct with their meat man. I asked if the juicy non lean meat was called the«top». He said yes it is the most moist and tender(as opposed to the«lean» to me which is too dry). He answered to the affirmative so I placed the order for the 3 of us(total about $ 45.00). They guy was very nice and talked to me the whole time while making up the order about how great and tender the food was. The«tender and juicy» TOP was so dry it was like chewing cardboard! I couldn’t even eat it and they only have cats so ended up throwing it away. To add insult to injury my friends dry«lean» was softer and juicer than my TOP! Now I think I know why I never went back May I suggest Sunny Bryan’s(original on Inwood at Harry Hines). They are the best and some of the cookie cutter satellites are hit and miss. Spring Creek is a much better choice though the meat can sometimes be a little dry but sometimes its fall of the bone delicious. Good luck BBQ fans.

I’ve been here a multitude of times and it keeps getting worse. Servers are not very helpful, but they sure have that big tip jar out. I got a stuffed beef potato and it was terrible. Chunks of beef instead of chopped, packaged cheese in little cups instead of melted, and fake spread cups instead of real butter. And the skin was covered in rock salt which made it inedible. To make it worse, the ice cream machine was not working and when I asked the server to help, she said give me a minute. I waited 10 by watching the clock then left, vowing never to return. Too bad.

Good food but bad services through the drive though! When ordering my meal, lady was yelling at me and would not let me finish my order. Then she keep my drink at the front windows with the window closed and walked away without giving my drink to me. Really like the food but sometime you have to weight out the good with the bad. Too much bad for me!

Went to this location tonight I must say this location doesn’t have the smokey flavor in the meat like the location in Deep Ellum i was disappointed. The young lady who took our order she was very nice but didn’t offer any suggestions she kinda looked like” just order your freakin food and get gone”!The guy who fixed our plates he looked like if you even try to complain I’ll will cut your throat right after I finish cutting your Brisket up! The guy who served the drinks seemed to be just happy he had a job, this was a hilarious crew but I was happy to be able to watch my plate being fixed though. Let me mention it was close to 8 pm they close at 9 pm. The sides looked kind of dried up so I went for the juicy sides like Green Beans they were awesome and the coleslaw which was awesome to. I had the Sandwich plate with two sides for 8.99. I chose the Chopped Brisket sandwich my daughter chose her Brisket sliced. This was out first time at this location I like it better only because its spaced out better than the Deep Ellum one but hands down the Deep Ellum one taste 100% better, Someone somewhere in the reviews said the Mac And Cheese taste as if it came from the can but it didnt taste like that to me its not home-style baked but it’s not bad either. The place is clean they have pickles and Jalapeño, onions and relish near the pop machines. The capacity for this place is 36 people I’m wondering was that a mistake(((shrugs))) it seems much bigger than that. Parking was okay I imagine in the day time it would be an issue. Over all I will not go back to this location I will go to the Deep Ellum one.

This location stinks. Pinto beans tasted old. Fries were very soggy/greasy. Other sides looked poor. Had the ham and half was uneatable & fatty. Ice cream machine didn’t work. Won’t ever eat here again. Thousands of better BBQ places in DFW. I was their only customer on a Tuesday lunch hour? Must be a reason. Oh, and trim your shrubs. Looks like you don’t care about your customers!

Good BBQ, but there are better options in town. Brisket was good, turkey was not the best. Rolls are good, but nothing unique or special. Potato salad and coleslaw were good. I would go back, but I would prefer pecan lodge every time.

I’ve only been here once and the food was suspect. The«sliced beef» looked so bad I was afraid I would get sick if I ate it. The meat was not seasoned. The ribs were overcooked. The guy that is in charge of slicing the meat was pulling meat out of their storage unit and throwing meat away until he found some that he felt was okay. The sides did not look inviting. I will not be returning.

Baker’s Ribs… I’m so glad you’re close by. Our first experience with Baker’s Ribs was at the location off 30 in Garland prior to my Unilocal days. Their smoked turkey was the main attraction for me as it is STILL the tastiest smoked turkey meat of any BBQ spot. FF to 2015, we’ve visited the NWHWY location since it opened and is close to home. On the food, I love their stuffed baked potatoes. The skin is crusted with a pepper and rock salt mix that becomes a part the amazing flavor experience. Their sausage links are the best as they have a balanced flavor of spice and juicyness. The brisket has a great smoked flavor. As far as sides, I love their mac and cheese. It is creamy, full of cheese flavor unlike the glob that looks like mac but doesn’t taste like it. On the dessert, their fried pies are the bomb. We have pulled through the drive thru for nothing but the pies. They are that good. Bottom Line: Baker’s has found the sweet spot on meat flavor, great sides, and pairing those with fried pie desserts. We will continue to be back!

From the outside, this place isn’t much to look at… but I think you should try it! Very rustic(decorations) and clean. The smell of smokey BBQ was great. Servers were super friendly and helpful. I had the chicken dinner and it was to die for!!! The chicken was awesome! My husband had the pulled pork and he loved his too. p They warm the BBQ sauce for you and have complimentary ice cream. Very good sides. Had the pie and I wished I would have been more adventurous and gotten something besides apple. They had many assortments and frozen ones that you could take home. If I had one issue, it seemed a little pricey for a BBQ place. But I would certainly go back, because it’s worth it!

Very good ribs. Did I mention the ribs were very good. Very tender and full of flavor. Another in the party had chopped beef sandwich and was also happy with the selection. Mac and cheese was not so great. Fried okra was really good. Beans were so-so I would return and try another dish.

First time I’ve been to this location– last time I was there was at the location on Greenville. Friendly and helpful staff. But the food was cold. Ribs on the Monday platter were ok. Not hot and juicy falling off the bone like last time. The side of pinto beans were tough and nothing but hulls. Not even bbq sauce could help save them. The Mac and cheese was grainy, Cheesy yes cold and tasteless yep. Side of cole slaw was Ok but too heavy on the celery salt. My SO had chopped brisket. He took it back up to the front and they re-made it with semi warm brisket instead of cold. Even the soft serve ice cream was bad(almost runny). The only great thing was the fresh hot fried okra. It was good the first time in Greenville, however this location falls short. Won’t be back again…

Ok. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. The place at 11:51am is empty. That should Have Been my first indication. BBQ places are all about the sides. If the sides are great the meat most likely will be too. The potatoe salad is awful. It’s some creamy gooey stuff that tastes like I described it. I tried the green beans… they are Ok. Hard to screw up green beans. Then the real kicker in the plastic parts… no brisket. What?! So I ordered ribs, turkey, and pulled pork. The ribs are good. Meaty and flavorful without sauce. The turkey was less than desirable and the pulled pork needed sauce to give it a hint of being a BBQ joint. The tea is pretty good. All in all… stick to the ribs, green beans, and tea. I ordered the three meat plate and small drink $ 15.91.

You know, I really wanted to like this place. Ate at the old location years ago and remembered it being decent. I decided to go for lunch one day to try out the new place. The meat: ordered a sliced beef sandwich. The meat was a bit dry, not real bad. I did need to apply generous amounts of sauce. I know it isn’t Lockhart, but I expected a bit more. What really got me was the ketchup dispenser. Went to get some and nothing but a slimy liquid came out of the dispenser. I was there very soon after opening so I would assume these things were checked before opening. Maybe not. The ice cream dispenser was the same. Just non frozen milk product. A bit disappointing and that added to the experience. If Meshacks was closer to work I would’ve been there instead.

I’ve eaten several times at the Deep Ellum location, first time here on a rainy Sunday morning with Jamie. We were the only customers there at 11am, and there were about 8 employees standing there waiting for something to do upon our arrival. We ordered two brisket, egg, and cheese tacos, and they were excellent(we picked it up at the counter, because all eight employees were apparently too busy to bring it to our table when it was done), albeit with no evidence of cheese. We also ordered a fried coconut pie(no breakfast is complete without dessert), and it was served to us room temp instead of properly fried and hot, so we schlepped it back for proper heating. A free ice cream cone on the way out, too soupy for dignified leisurely consumption. We’ll drive the extra couple of mile to Deep Ellum next time, for proper service and food prep.
