Well overall it was good. I asked for mid-rare got more like medium. Meat was not as tender as you would expect for a 50 dollar steak. Good service, clean, good food.

I came here twice back in the day, when Unilocal was yellow pages and again just recently. The service is very proper and servers are well informed. I would recommend the onion rings for an appetizer then your choice of entrée. You cannot really go wrong, the steak is just awesome!

The good, steaks were tasty and side mushrooms were excellent. The bad, the soup of the day didn’t hit the spot. When the waitress stopped by she noticed it wasn’t enjoyed(and left the $ 9 charge on the bill). The entire waitress staff seemed in the weeds and unorganized. Our conversation was interrupted so many times(unnecessarily) by our waitress that it was almost comical, almost. Steakhouses in Dallas play on a much higher level than what we experienced. Too many choices to make that gamble again.

Service was great. Steak was great. Their sides are average. Drinks are super strong so that’s nice. Atmosphere is relaxing.

I am from the Bay area where we are used to excellent Cusino at prices that dont break the bank. The food here was average and waaay over priced. The service was great but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. And definitely don’t get the ahi tuna!

I had a terrible experience. My brother and sister came from different parts of the world for a family reunion in dallas, and i made a reservation at this restaurant. We waited for an hour and our table was not ready. Unacceptable. We left the place hungry and frustrated.

This place is pretty ridiculous. Great old school steak house. Started with the giant prawns, had the rib-eye with a baked potato, a side of creamed spinach. It was great. The biggest surprise was the glazed carrot. It was like dessert. Its pricy but quality. If you are in Dallas and want some beef, come here!!!

My coworkers swear that Bob’s has some of the best steaks in town. After coming here for my birthday a few weeks, it’s hard to disagree. I had their signature steak the«cote de beouf». This bad boy is a USDA prime 22-oz bone in ribeye. This means lots of flavor from the bone and the generous marbling. As far as sides go, the sauteed mushrooms are dynamite… I think it’ s because they’ve been marinated in butter or something. Whatever… I’ll start my diet… later. Also each steak comes with a candied carrot and a choice of potato. If you choose to get it baked, they’ll load up on sour cream, bacon bits, green onions, and cheese table side until you say stop. As far as ambiance goes, this place is a bit dark and there are a lot of tables everywhere so it can a bit crowded, and loud. Parking is a bit complicated, there’s the valet option but there’s also a neighborhood behind the place you can try your luck in. All in you, if you want a good steak, come here.

My favorite place to celebrate life events and take out-of-towners for the Texas Steak experience. Award winning service. If you leave starving you failed yourself. I also get the smallest filet and load up on apps, sides & salads, that is plenty of food.

Quick look rating: 5⁄5 Food & Quality, 5⁄5 Service, 5⁄5 experience Attention steak lovers! Bob’s is where to go for a great steak! My recommendation is the filet mignon! Nice date place with great service and fantastic food! As we entered Bob’s, we were put on a waiting list. It’s not so bad when the bar is right there! I ordered a Tangira & tonic while we waited for our table. Service was fast, with a friendly cheer from the bar tender! We were in luck, our table was ready in no time! Greet time to the table was fast with a pleasant greeting! The place was busy, but the staff was moving with great team play! I like that, it shows to me great management! My recommendation is the fillet mignon medium rare with a glass of red wine! Mmmm, did I state that already, must be because my mouth is watering as I write this review. Go for steak, stay for the carrot you say what, that’s right, it’s the best vegetable you will ever come across, trust me! (To note: Lately, I’ve come in for a baked potato to go when I’m on my cabbage soup diet. Yea, yea, but is the one time on the second day that I get a cheat treat. Their potato is wonderful and those sweet bartenders get me in and out in no time.) I highly recommend Bob’s, it’s a little on the high end, but well worth it for special occasions!

The in-laws have been raving about Bob’s since they’ve been longtime customers to the establishment. After our visit here, Bob’s has now become my husband’s favorite steakhouse and I’d probably have to second him on that. The entrance to the strip mall was a bit strange, but we were quickly greeted by valet and got taken care of. Although we showed up about 30 minutes earlier than our reservation time(highly recommend that you make a reservation too), they were able to accommodate us quickly as well. The room in the back where we were seated was just as dim as the rest of the restaurant, but a bit quieter. They also had a few TV’s available which were airing college football — another plus! Our waitress was friendly and we had no issues the whole dinner. Mom and I ordered the 12 oz. rib-eye, hers medium plus and mine medium rare. Dad and the husband got the NY strip. Everyone was happy with the way it was cooked and even had a nice char around that made it sooo good. I’m usually a baked potato kind of gal, but went with the scalloped potatoes this time that were so delicious with the gravy and onions. We can’t wait to be back next time!

Let it be known that I have been in the area since 2001 and always wanted to go to Bob’s but never made it(either I was too cheap or my friends were all too cheap). Now I have friends that aren’t scared to spend a few bucks for dinner so I finally made it. Having recently had steak dinners in Vegas, I was shocked at the prices. I expected $ 100/plate so the prices were a bargain in my view. The bread was plentiful and the portion sizes were large. I ordered a 14oz Prime New York Strip(medium rare) with a baked potato and a side of mac and cheese off their special menu. To no surprise the steak was cooked properly and tasted good. The mac and cheese was also quite tasty. The baked potato tasted fine but it really seems that something more grand could be done with a baked potato at a fine dining establishment. I’m pretty sure I cooked that exact same baked potato myself when I was a 10 year old in boy scout. Also, I wasn’t a huge fan of having the staff come by to put the garnishments on the baked potato. There was nothing wrong with the staff per se but did they really earn the $ 60 – 70 tip from our table of 4? Essentially all they did is leave menus and then ask us what we want. There is no explanation of the menu, no trying to sell sides(i totally forgot about other sides, just noticed the mac and cheese on the 2nd menu), and no trying to sell desserts. When asked what comes with the meal the waitress said just the potato. no mention of the carrot which seems to be a signature piece(and was tasty). I only learned they sell dessert by reading Unilocal reviews right now. My tummy was full and I probably wouldn’t have purchased anything but wasn’t offered… and they couldn’t have been too busy at the time considering ¾ths of the patrons had already left by that time. It would have been nice if the staff was trained to give an explanation of the various cuts of meat they had on the menu. Sorry, I don’t even know what«prime» means and simply bought it because it sounded better but they should incentivize people to buy the cut of meat which is best for them. I tend to like my NY Strip on the thin side. This strip was VERY thick. Contrast this with Cut at the Venetian in Vegas where they bring out sides of meat to show you the differences and give detailed explanations and make it clear that they will answer any questions you might have expertly(and as such were able to guide me to the exact NY Strip that I wanted). The location needs an overhaul IMO. The outside looked terrible in 2001 when I first moved to Dallas and it hasn’t changed one bit. The valet is fine and is actually needed for this location so I appreciate that but the building façade is just terrible. The inside also seems dated with wood paneling throughout(is this the 1970s? Bob’s didn’t even open until 1993). The menus look cheap as well(how about iPad drink/dessert menus to make this feel more upscale). The clientele was mostly old white males. I guess old guys have lots of money but the clientele did not help any in the making this a cool/hip place to go. All that being said, we had a good time and the food was good. However, I don’t expect to return here anytime soon as I will be on a journey to find the best steakhouse that Dallas has to offer(and if it is this, then I would be severely disappointed).

With so many places to dine in Dallas. There is no need to check this place out. I have been here before and it was great last time but my friend had never been. As he and I were promptly sat by the host. It’s a Monday so I was not expecting a large crowd, and I was right. Our server finally greeted us after an extended wait. A cocktail and iced tea were ordered. 10 minutes later she arrived with the cocktail but informed us that the tea was brewing. Hard to believe there is no iced tea to be served at 6:45 pm. We did order appetizers. Unfortunately both of us felt extremely neglected as 10 more minutes passed without any sign of apps, tea, or our server. Deciding to cut our losses my date went to go find our server. At that point we just wanted our check. The server quickly agreed and without inquiry PROMPTLY brought us our check for the 15 dollar Bloody Mary that was not touched. No offer to take it off our tab. That along with the 5 dollar valet charge made Bob’s Steak and chop a 20 dollar lesson on where never to go again. We mentioned to the manager on the way out about the slow unapologetic service on the way out. Hope for your sake you make some changes.

The location off Lemon Street is the best… I have traveled the world and ate everywhere and by far they have the best stake in town!!! The filet with a baked potato and glazed carrot was the BOMB!!!

My boss took me here on a business trip, at first I was joking around saying I hope there are no poles inside because there were almost no windows. But after one of the valets opened the front door for us I quickly shut my mouth. Beautiful atmosphere inside, we were seated promptly and the female server brought out a complimentary app and waters. She quickly placed our drink order and was extremely friendly. I ordered a steak medium rare, and it came with a side of caramelized carrots that were amazing and mashed potatoes. It was nice and quiet, perfect place to relax and eat. The table next to us was a mother and a daughter, the mother obviously had a little too much giggle juice. But the daughter escorted her mother out when she tried to flirt with my boss and it just came out as a bunch of mumbling. So, dinner and a show Simply put, this restaurant is fantastic, if you’re in Dallas, give it a try

This was our first time and it was an excellent experience. Romatic, dimly lit atmosphere. We had an excellent server that had been there for 10 years. We had the crab cake and shrimp platter appetizers, both were great. My wife had the filet mignon with carrot and smashed potatoes. The filet was cooked to perfection and so tender she cut it with a fork. I had the prime ribeye with carrot and skillet potatoes. My steak was the first ribeye I have ever eaten that was better than I cook at home. It was pricey but well worth it! !!!

There is nothing sexy or visually appealing when it comes to their plating or their sides that they offer. I feel like this restaurant is best suited for«grizzly» men men. Meaning that this would be a man cave restaurant for men to dine and grunt. This location felt dated and I was a bit embarrassed to have chosen to dine here for My wife’s birthday dinner. Steak is steak. Potatos are potatoes. Perfect spot to bring your dad but not your gay brother. He’d probably think it was tacky ;)

We went here for dinner Friday night and we absolutely loved it! Service was fantastic and Rochelle was very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine and two entrees which filled us up! I don’t know how people find room for dessert and apps but I’d love to come back and try both. Steaks were cooked perfectly, smashed potatoes were creamy and garlicky and the carrot was perfectly glazed and a nice touch. My boyfriend is pretty particular about how he likes his steak cooked and Rochelle was able to instruct him on exactly what cuts and types of meat to get in order to achieve this. Can’t wait to come back and try apps/desserts. Try it out-you won’t regret it!

I should have gone with my initial assumption that a steakhouse sharing a building with a car audio business couldn’t be that jazzy. I have a 9 month old and this was our first post-baby date without the baby. It was supposed to be a nice place and it’s just a few minutes from home, so we thought we’d give it a shot. From the outside, it looks misplaced and outdated. Inside, it looks straight out of a scene from Kitchen Nightmares. It was dark and outdated and the laminated menus were dingy. The table had a large mason jar filled with giardinera or pickles. I thought it was odd, but before I could inspect it further, the waitress picked it up. Oh well. We started with a bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer. IMHO, mozzarella was an unnecessary cheese pairing with shrimp. it didn’t add anything to it flavor or texture wise, but it was bacon and shrimp, so it wasn’t all bad. It was $ 15 for 3 shrimp. The waitress came by and let us know that she’d gone ahead and added an extra shrimp so the 2 of us wouldn’t have to fight over the 3rd shrimp. She said it like she was doing us a favor. What she didn’t say was that she charged us the $ 5 for that fourth shrimp. That was a little annoying. While we’re on the waitress, I want to mention that her hair was slightly disheveled, her shirt was a little tight on her and her nails were painted green. I know. I sound like a mean girl here. I generally don’t give a crap what the servers look like as long as they don’t look dirty. But, if you’re running a professional establishment and charging $ 50 — $ 100 per plate, I think your staff should have a professional appearance. I ordered a 22 oz. Prime«Cote De Boeuf» and my husband ordered their 22 oz. Prime Kansas City Bone in Strip at the waitress’ suggestion. I think after all of the grizzle, we might have had 20 oz. of decent steak between the 2 of us. My poor knife got a serious workout hacking at the damn thing! I have absolutely purchased much better quality steaks at HEB and Whole Foods and probably could if tasked to today. It was served with a «glazed carrot». I don’t know what I was expecting when I read that on the menu, but it wasn’t a whole carrot just boiled in apple cider. Not delicious. I also had their skillet fried potatoes. I gave them 1 bite. They were crisp like potato chips, but just a little thicker. The gravy on them was a little sweet and filled with onions. I was already uninterested in that point and didn’t give them much of a chance, but I didn’t care for them. We also ordered their macaroni and cheese side to share. It had little bits of pancetta in it. After I sprinkled a little salt on top, it tasted just as good as if I’d made velveeta mac & cheese and added little bits of pancetta to it. I almost forgot my favorite part of the whole meal. They served bread and butter at the beginning. I had a small bite but insisted I didn’t want to fill up on bread. It wasn’t anything special, but I think it was the best part of the entire meal. We’d learned our lesson by then and turned down dessert. Is that the secret that we missed out on? Based on my experience, I have no idea how this place has any good reviews. The whole time we were there I was just thinking of all of the other places I could have eaten or what I could have bought for my son with that $ 175.

The prices were ridiculous for the quality of the food that we got. Our waitress was kind of pushy with up-selling the menu. They charge for valet parking and then park your car in a shopping center across the street.(Of course, if you park there yourself you will be towed.) The atmosphere was confusing and unpleasant. They keep it really dark in there. A man literally fell down right next to our table because he tripped on some steps he couldn’t see. The steaks were tough and not very flavorful. The carrot was gross. The only positive thing about the meal was that the lingering scent of the extremely heavy amount of garlic they put in the potatoes seemed to have kept the mosquitos away while I walked to my truck,(which I had to park on the street, two blocks away.)
