So glad I got to eat here again before they close. At one time it was an every Friday lunch spot for us. Went in before 11:30 to avoid the last week rush. Great burger as always. It’s a shame these types of places are disappearing. Nothing last forever I guess.

I don’t know how the small town bar in the Minnesota village that I grew up in was transported to Denton Drive, but I’m glad I was able to return to it before it disappears again. Noisy, messy, worn. And that’s just the clientele. Ba dum bum! Seriously, anyone who appreciates dive bars will immediately feel right at home. Yes, you should have a burger and tots. Yes, you should have a Shiner. Yes, you should laugh at the stories being told(for the gazillionth time) around the place. This is a great piece of Americana and if you don’t like it, yoocangetout!

Great casual place to have a beer and burger. Or play a game of pool or shuffleboard. Dark, old and aged. News is they may close to make room for a new gas station. I sure hope not.

Excellent food for a great price! Some of the best burgers I ever had. The Tater pops are not miss m, they are stuffed with cheddar and Jalapeños. This is a place where you will feel very tempted to order another burger, not because your hungry but because it’s absolutley delicious!

Super cool, vintage, and divey! Bartender had worked there 33 years! She was so nice and genuinely cared about what she was talking to you about! Had the double cheese burger with chili, I highly recommend! The owner was there, very nice guy… Told us a lot of cool stories! Will definitely go back!

If you want a manly, gritty dive — with the best waitress this side of the Mason-Dixon line — and a $ 1.50 egg sandwich — PLEASE go to Club Schmitz. The tater tots are heavenly. The shuffleboard always makes for rousing competition. The owner is sweet as pie. Mmmmmmm — their pie! Get a PBR. Play some tunes on the juke box. Settle in. And rejoice when you get the(very tiny) bill afterwards. Tips: Cash only! And its right next to a Dart stop so if you’re coming from Denton or Downtown, it’s worth the stop.

Your basic good old greasy spoon beer joint that just happens to make a killer burger. Been coming here for years and it’s never changed.

I missed this place on my first pass it is kind of hidden. Great dive ordered a burger and wings. Burger was simple but delicious the wings though my mouth is still on fire, no batter just simple sloppy wings. One wing one napkin that is how it went the messier the better.

Cash only, great juke box, dive food and exactly the atmosphere you need to just not care. This place is a step back in time but in a good way. The staff is friendly and quick. The conversations heard around the bar range from a day at the office, a day on the ranch, the life of a hipster and«the regulars.» I could have seen having a good ol’ Irish wake here if that makes sense… but sadly no liquor served. So get your beer on and step in. TIP: you can order the burgers(always get double) or ham and cheese or any sandwich with a fried egg. And they made an awesome frito pie on request!

For a divey type bar I loved everything about this place, although I was only in for 1 beer, and I split a burger with my friend. The amazing burger I’ve heard so much about did not live up to the hype(should have listened to Megan M). The patty was so thin and overcooked. My friend and I both thought… meh. Our waitress/bartender was pretty awesome, though and I loved the old school country juke box. Lots of gold on that thing. I’d be back for booze if I was in the area again.

Yeah — Back again for another burger, beer, and onion rings. Double, double! It was good, hot, fast and juicy. Rings were great. Beer was cold… everything just right. Place was empty, but it was a Tuesday night — but still good stuff! As I looked around the place and took it in, there has been a lot of history there. Lots of old beer signs and kind of a Cheers attitude.

Good golly miss molly this is the BEST straight-forward burger I have ever had in my life. The place is a total dive, but if you’re not a snob, you must get your butt here pronto. I don’t even know what the heck they do to make this cheeseburger so divine, but it blows all others out of the water. And, it’s very affordable-I think my cheeseburger, onion rings and soda were $ 10. They have tables/servers, but you pay at the bar. So wonderful… just be sure to plan a nap afterwards.

I finally went to this place not too long ago and was glad to have done so. The burger and fries were awesome! If you are very hungry, be sure to get at least a burger with a double patty. It melts in your mouth so good! This place is a great dive experience. Just be careful when sitting in a booth. The one I sat in had a bit of a dip in it, and I’m sure it had seen better days, but that’s part of the charm I guess. I’d definitely go again sometime. Maybe at a table next time, lol.

For the times when nothing short of a beer and burger will do… Club Schmitz hits the spot. In my ongoing pursuit of a «Yo Mamas”-esque burger I found one that compares. Nothing fancy, but the double double literally melted in my mouth. Double meat, double cheese. You can taste the 50+ years of blood sweat and tears in the patty. The grilled WHITE bread bun was dripping with butter. It typically comes dressed with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and pickle… but I judge a burger naked… meat, cheese, bread only. Not a huge fan of the tater pops that everyone raves about, but the seasoned fries hit the spot for me. You can wash it all down with a fancy craft beer… PBR or Schlitz… haha! The owners/staff make you feel right at home. Toni serves up a healthy dose of country attitude alongside your grub. I haven’t tried anything here that wasn’t oozing with greasy goodness. Don’t forget it is CASH only… ATM available.

Please don’t get a single patty burger and compare to «gourmet burgers». This is a place to get a double double! Like Kellers, or In & Out. So don’t give me that«I wasn’t that hungry», OK eat half a great burger and throw the rest away! Or be a miser and don’t want to pay for a double double, and THEN complain about the skimpy patty! This place is all about the flavor of an old fashioned burger cooked on a 60 year old grill, in a real dive! Is it sparking clean? Hell no, it’s a 60 year old shack! You want sanitized? Go to In & Out. Which I also love BTW. best regards, lm

Cold beers, bar burgers and an old shuffleboard table… what’s not to love? It’s fun little dive bar where you can grab a beer and chat. I wish I lived closer…

Let’s get SCHMITZEDFACED! Brother says, «I love Schmitz. I just want to sit there all day and smell cheeseburgers.» I absolutely love this joint’s ambiance of small town watering hole where no judegment is ever passed with comforting finger-licking food, cold beer, beautiful beer memoriabila and fun for the whole family with shuffle board, pool tables, jutebox, tv, and nice service to put you at ease. I have so much fun here that I bought a tshirt, and I never buy tshirts. You can pretty much do whatever you like and no one cares. I watched some little ones play pool, and they were so damned good I’m pretty sure they could take on those high heeled Asian babes I’ve seen rack em up on Espn. Chicken fried steak sandwich Is GOLDEN… thank you for being my friend, traveled down the road and back again. 3 dollah burger is great and the cook has perfected just the right touch of grease to give your burger friend that sexy bronzed-sun-kissed-look. The hot sauce is simple and delicious. I must experiment with their Chili and Egg Sandwhich in the near future. Great bar !

I really love this place! It’s unique and has a lot of history in this area of Dallas. Club Schmitz has been around since 1946 and it probably hasn’t changed much. From what I understand all of the Love Field pilots used to come here for drinks and some diner style food. It is cash only though, so come prepared! It is super laid back, you’ll see people from all walks of life in business dress or shorts and a t-shirt. The food is definitely bar food with some additions. They are less focused on the appetizers and have a good selection of «sandwiches» from hamburgers to patty melts. I’ve had their hamburger before and I highly recommend it! Both fries and tots are pretty good, tater tots are more consistent. Last time I was there I had the patty melt with no onions. It’s a regular costco style hamburger patty between two slices of american cheese and then rye bread, grilled until it’s all glued together and sticky. It was pretty good, albeit super greasy. I don’t know what it is but they seem to make less-than-stellar ingredients better within their four walls. Next time I’m probably switching back to the hamburger, however the chicken fried steak sandwich might be calling my name. I’ll give an update later on that! Parking lot is dirt and rocks, next to a bunch of Dart construction which makes it hard to see this little shack, but it’s totally worth the drive and the scenery to experience it.
