This appointment was an overnight stay to determine what level of pressure my c-pap machine would need to be set too. When they first called me to set up the appointment the man did not really explain anything to me. Nothing, not the process, what to expect, and basically told me I would get an email with their address and driving directions along with required paperwork to bring with me. After waiting several days with no email I called them back only to be greeted by a women who literally would not let me speak two words before interrupting me. Seriously, as much as you think you can read minds I assure you might want to stay quiet and actually LISTEN to the customer. I had to tell her, «MA’AM please give me one minute to tell you why I am calling rather than guessing!» she finally shut up long enough ask my simple question about the email. I ended up getting the paperwork email right away. It consisted of your basic new patient type forms and one simple sheet of paper stating where they were located. What it lacked was information such as what to bring as far as clothing, items of comfort, etc. Afterall this was an overnight stay! I arrived early because I live in Bedford and they are located in Dallas. You never know what to expect with traffic on 635 and I never mind waiting if I’m early. However, since I was not told what to expect, I arrived to a very dark building. The sleep tech had not arrived yet which would have been fine if I had even know that it would be just the two of us for this appointment and that she would be there in or right around the appointment time. I went up to the door and saw a door bell which no one answered because no one was there yet. I notice their daytime hours of service but no instructions for patients checking in for night time sleep studies. I figured I would call the number posted and a man answered the phone. At that time he could have set the expectation for the rest of the evening. Rather he said I’ll call the tech and call you back. Well she was on her way, and was not late, I was early. There really wasn’t a problem other than no one bothered to tell me what to expect! When the tech arrived(about 5 minutes later) she was very nice and friendly. She gave me great information on what to expect the rest of the visit. Showed me my room, made sure I was comfortable, and went through a gambit helping try on different c-pap masks, I mean Maggie was WONDERFUL! She apologized for the lack of clear communication up to that point. There is few reasons I won’t give them a higher score even though Maggie deserves 5 stars. When I asked Maggie for some water she stated she didn’t know if they had any but would get me some if she could find a bottle. It was there last one. Also, I had an irritated runny nose and she had to bring me toilet paper for it, no tissue. Come on now, either tell your clients to bring items for their comfort or provide basic things like water and tissues!
