I’m addicted and it’s sad. I absolutely love their beef tacos and horchata. The breakfast tacos are pretty good as well.

I had the breakfast tacos here they were ok. They really didn’t have enough meat in them. The red salsa was decent. I’ll be back for regular tacos soon esp because this place is 24hrs on the weekend.

Sure they have a drive thru but you might as well do it old school and stand at the window. I like the chorizo&egg, sausage&egg, bacon&egg and the ham&egg tacos but you ought to live a little, try the Breakfast Torta, with cheese, and a pineapple smoothie.

Better than fuel city. They are very friendly when I asked for their recommendations on meat she asked if I wanted to try the AL Pastor & I thought she was just going to give me a piece of meat she put together a whole taco. And oh my word it was amazing! And they accept credit.

This is one of two places in Dallas(that I know of) that have real deal street tacos(other place is Fuel City). In the sense that they remind me of what I can get in San Diego, which I miss a lot after moving to Dallas. The major selling point is that this place is just as good as it’s other more popular counter part but let me be very VERY clear why I would go here over the other: SNOWCONES. ACCEPTSCARDS. So, it has the cash only taste of delicious tacos, but you can use your debit card ANDYOUCANGETSNOWCONES. It’s brilliant and i’ll be back several times.

Absolutely the best breakfast taco I’ve had in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Comes with salsa that has a kick to it, but plenty of flavor. I got the bacon and egg taco, and the bacon was crisp and flavorful. Wasn’t greasy at all. Honesty for the price it’s an incredible breakfast taco.

I would rather go here than to Fuel City any day. The tacos are the right size and price and full of onions(I love onions). I suggest the chicken, steak, and pastor tacos. The corn tortillas aren’t that great so I stick with the flour tortillas. If you like quesadillas, this is your spot. They are large and loaded. Breakfast is served all day. I’ve only had the breakfast tacos but they also have tortas and burritos. They are popular for snow cones during the summer. A drive-through is available but in my opinion it is best to park and walk up to the window.

I was up here this past Sunday and made a $ 9 purchase. Much to my surprise, my card was charged $ 19. I used to love this place for the great food and was totally shocked when I saw this transaction on my account. I did call them regarding the descrepancy. The manager was not available to talk to me. Instead, another young lady asked me to come back up there and they would refund the money back to my card. I was told they had a new person that was doing this. I was totally shocked by what has happened to me. I just wonder how many other faithful customers to Cool & Hot this has happened to? They really need to screen their new employees better. I would highly recommend you pay cash when visiting this establishment. Otherwise, you stand the chance of this happening to you.

Tacos are very small, salsa didn’t have much flavor. I preferred the flour tortillas. A lot of filling. Rice & beans didn’t get a good review from my partner

Interesting place, I didnt even know existed. When we fist pulled up my thought was how cool and interesting. they have a menu with lots of things to try. the only thing we got were sno cones but they werent that great. but i was interested in coming back to try other things they had tacos, cappucino, cookies, sodas, all sorts of things. and the girl at the lil window was nice. I like the area outside they had with tables and chairs to enjoy you food. another thing i thought was cool is that they had a drive thru.

Cheap. Simple. Delicious. I used ’s top 38 restaurants map for Dallas to sniff this place out while I was in the city for an interview. If I were passing by I wouldn’t even consider going here. Small, rickety, and with a drive-through option, I honestly would have thought of it as a low-quality fast food stand. I was dead wrong. Onto the food. Ok first, they serve coffee, cold treats, and tacos(split into breakfast and regular). I tried three tacos: the barbacoa(steamed roast beef), the picadillo(ground beef) and the Pastor(spicy pork). Each taco was $ 1.28 by themselves except the picadillo, which was on a discount price of $ 0.99. Each was served with diced onions and(opt.) cilantro as well as 2 different salsas and a couple lime wedges. They give you a choice of corn and flour tortillas as well and they double wrap for corn tortillas. Anyways, flavor: So good. Each taco meat was tender, flavorful and the overall taco had the write texture and flavor as well. It’s not a «mind-blowing» experience but, especially for the price, it’s pretty darn good. As I drove off I actually began craving more tacos and considered turning around to get a couple more(again. so cheap!), but I had to head to ATX before it was too late. Again: Cheap. Simple. Delicious. 4-stars.

I’m usually not in this part of town in search of tacos, but I was hungry and I found this place on Unilocal after leaving the Dallas Zoo. It’s conveniently located off I-35 and 8th street. Good to know for the next time I’m driving up North into the city. It’s a small building located right on the corner, very hard to miss. Even though there was a drive-thru, I decided to get out of my car and order at the window. Not to make judgments, but I found myself watching over my shoulder and keeping an eye on the area as I waited for my food. A few times I wondered if I should have backed into the parking space in case I needed to get out of there quickly. Okay, it wasn’t that bad, but then again I was there during the daylight hours. They are open all night on the weekends, so I might have a different opinion if I came during that time. The thing that caught my eye on this place was the fact they sold snow cones. I was coming from spending a few hours at the HOT zoo and need something cool. Fortunately, Cool & Hot did not disappoint. I felt like a kid again eating my coconut flavored snow cone. They had tons of flavors to choose from. Great texture to the ice and the syrup wasn’t too sweet. It was great. The tacos were cheap, small, street-style tacos offered on both corn or flour. I ordered the Pastor, Picadillo, Beef Fajita and Barbacoa. My order included cilantro, onions, limes and 2 types of salsa. I’m not going to say they were the best tacos I’ve ever eaten, but they were tasty. The ingredients all seemed fresh. The meat was flavorful and not dry. Overall, they were worth the price. I’d definitely come back if I’m passing by.

Cool & Hot tacos? More like Bland & Bland tacos. We tried the beef fajita, the picadillo, and the barbacoa. All three were amazing, in their blandness. The worst of all was the barbacoa, which seemed to be steamed and devoid of any spices whatsoever. The beef fajita was dry, with a slight hint of flavor, and the picadillo was just okay. The only way I was able to down these mofo’s was to drench ‘em in lime and top ‘em with mounds of onion and cilantro. Taquirio El Si Hay is close by, drive the extra few minutess and go there instead!

Hello, my name is Dan and I’m a taco-holic. Last week I hung the to-go bag and left-over styrofoam carton from a taqueria on my rear-view mirror just so that my car would smell like tacos all week. I have a problem. So, when I heard about this newly opened taqueria, it was only a matter of time before I had to try it. If you looked up Cool & Hot in the 2010 Dallas yearbook, the caption under its picture might read, «Most Likely to Give Fuel City a Run For Its Money.» The taco options are pretty typical: picadillo, pastor, fajita, barbacoa, chicken, etc. but the quality is better than most. The tortillas are homemade and not pulled out of a bag, and taste delicious. Standard fixins are provided and you get the choice of a red or green salsa. The tacos are small, about the same size as Fuel City. I am a real sucker for a good picadillo and pastor, and Cool & Hot does a great job with both. The picadillo was cooked up fresh with tender chunks of potato. The pastor was even better. The pork was tender and spicy, with a slight crisp from a quick sear on the flat-top. I ask you, is there anything more beautiful than a well-made taco? There are some pluses over Fuel City too: +1 They serve breakfast tacos all day long. +1 They also serve ice cream, sundaes, sno-cones, and even fresh-baked cookies +1 They have a drive-thru +1 They accept credit/debit cards

So a while back on the way to the Vera Cruz Café UYE, I drove past this tiny taco stand in what appears to be a former gas station parking lot. The sign said $ 1 tacos. I said, ‘I’m yours.’ Being a north of 635er I rarely have the motivation to drive to I-35 and 8th to get tacos.. .but I couldn’t get this place out of my head. Finally, I rounded up the troops and we made a trip down this past weekend. Now all I can say is I’m thrilled the tacos are only $ 1 because it’s going to cost me a couple bucks in gas money a week just to enjoy these bad boys. I’ve already figured out that a cab from the bars to my house including a stop by this 24hr spot for a chorizo and egg taco will cost me around $ 50.. .I’m OK with this. The menu is simple. They have some breakfast tacos(chorizo and egg, bacon and egg, potato and egg, etc.) served on flour tortillas and they have street style tacos(pastor, beef fajita, chicken fajita, picadillo and barbacoa). The breakfast tacos are around $ 1.40 per taco and the street style are $ 1 each(your choice of flour or corn tortilla). They also have ice cream and sno-cones(hence the name Cool & Hot.. .get it?). I opted for two chicken fajita, two pastor and two picadillo on corn tortilla and an egg and chorizo breakfast taco. The tacos are amazing. The corn tortillas are pliable but not greasy, the cilantro is fresh, all the meat I had was seasoned well(but not overpowering) and nothing was overcooked. I’ve paid much much more for an inferior taco — but I won’t be making that mistake anymore. I was in al pastor heaven thinking life couldn’t and wouldn’t get any better at that moment.. .until I tried the breakfast taco.. .oh my sweet sweet piggy sausage. A little peppery, a little sweet and a whole lot delicious.. .I’m in love. Wash it all down with a sno-cone or a lemonade and try and have a bad day.. .it just won’t happen. *Tip: They give you a slightly spicy salsa with your tacos, but they have a super spicy hot sauce if you ask for it. * *Driver beware: There’s no seating so be ready to eat in your car, on your car, outside your car, under your car.. .whatever. If you don’t want your car smelling like spicy pork, onion and cilantro for a week, eat outside.. .trust me.*
