Trying to entertain my 70 year old parents in Dallas can be tricky, because it has to be fun but not too physical. We took the trolley to Klyde Warren Park and then I spied the free architecture tour sign. «Does it involve a lot of walking?», I asked the guide for my Mom. «No we just stay inside the park.» She said. I’m glad it suited my Moms needs, because being from Fort Worth they knew nothing about the Dallas skyline, and even I learned a few things. She talked about the mercantile clock tower and the republic bank building and other bits of Dallas history. For a free 20 minute tour it hit the spot. Now I’m set on doing the $ 10 Main Street walking tour. They do 2 hour walking tours on Saturday mornings also for the West End the Arts District. Reservations are required for those.
