We loved everything. The food was great and the service was exceptional! We got an appetizer, sandwiches and soup. Would recommend for a date night, lunch or dinner with your family or friends!

I had reservations about some of the sandwiches on the menu, Went with a group of friends and we all were interested in sampling a few, so we just bought 3 sandwich to split between us: The Dude, Grilled PBJ, BBQ mac and cheese(?). The dude taste like your typical sloppy joe, I was not overly impressed with it. The BBQ mac/cheese sandwich was good but there was not a lot of BBQ happening… Mainly it was a grilled cheese with macaroni inside. But the star of the show was the grilled PBJ. I did not expect to like it at all. because I thought how is that going to compare to the heartier/meatier sandwiches? GUYSTHISWASSOGOOD. I am going back and ordering this every time. If I had a glass of milk I would have cried. The service and seating is a little slow so just be prepared to wait!

Best grilled sandwich I have ever had. I never imagined that macaroni and cheese covering BBQ deliciously cradled between Munster cheese and a perfectly toasted bread bun… I’m drooling just thinking about it!

I woke up this morning craving grilled cheese. Thanks to Unilocal,I was saved by this popular establishment. Upon entering the host at the door greeted me warmly. I took a seat at the bar and was helped by Jamie. 5 stars for the wonderful service, delicious sandwich and kick ass ranch. My first visit here and it won’t be my last. It you are a huge fan of grilled cheese, this is the place for it.

I can’t deny that this is one of my favorite eateries in the Dallas area. How can bread & cheese be so good? I’ve always been instantly greeted by a cheerful hostess, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad server, the cocktails are tasty/refreshing, & location is hip & fun. Every time I’ve used their bathroom it is clean & stocked(something I really appreciate in a business). Their music playlist is pretty spot-on as well with a good variety of genres. They have a really nice root beer on tab, but be prepared to pay the price(its good root beer, but maybe not worth the price tag… especially for a non-alcoholic drink). The only downside I can think of is the parking situation. The lot for DGC Co. is shared with many other establishments, so parking can be scarce on a busy night. You may even have to park on the street somewhere & walk. They do tend to run specials for certain events/dates & they have a happy hour — so check back often to see what they have going on. You can’t go wrong with Dallas Grilled Cheese Co… come join the cheesy side :)

Enh… That about sums up my experience. Just«enh». I’m a cheese super fan. Every kind… I love cheese cooked anyway. I was underwhelmed. I looked at the plates around me and saw no one pull their sandwich apart and hv melted gooey strings of cheese. That’s the BEST part. My first clue. They have champagne by the glass and nice cozy seating and lighting. We ordered the short rib bbq Mac n cheese grilled cheese. We got our sandwich and the meat was barely there. We were told it would be ribs ripped off the bone but was actually 2 really thin slivers of lunch meat with not so cheesy Mac n cheese on top of it. I probably won’t be back. Not enough cheese in the grilled cheese to satisfy my craving.

My first visit to BAD and came across the Dallas Grilled Cheese and thought we would give it a try. I had the Dude cheese which is basically a grilled cheese Manwich sloppy joe combination. It was good but kinda pricey and it would be good to have more selections of grilled cheese. They have different choices of sandwiches, soups and salads. There’s also a bar for various beers.

Mmm so good! I had the Rustic Tomato soup and The Favorite. It hit the spot after a long work week. Cheese and bacon and tomato soup… Mmm! My boyfriend got the onion rings with the Chicken Caprese. I had a nibble and a bite of both and I definitely thought the onion rings were spot on. I liked The Favorite more than the Caprese though. The Chicken Caprese was good, don’t get me wrong, but to me, it was more like a panini or maybe a quesadilla using bread. My only major complaint is that maybe $ 8 – 12 range for a grilled cheese is kind of pricey… but DGC does an awesome job. What makes for an excellent grilled cheese, for me, is expertly grilled bread and I loved how they grilled the bread here. I’ll be back! I might go for the Rustic tomato soup with the Rustic Grilled cheese or the Original for a more back to the basics meal.

This afternoon we were craving grilled cheese and found this location. We love Bishop Arts so we were stoked to try this restaurant. We sat outside since it was overcast. Plenty of room. Our table was dirty. We ordered peach mango tea. It was really good. Our waitress didn’t do a good job of refilling our glasses or checking in on us. First impressions are important. We ordered the bacon cheese lolli’s as an appetizer. I imaged bacon wrapped skewers with maple glazed pineapples that have a brown sugar coating. My bad. We received 6 or 8 skewers of scrunched up bacon that had been glazed in maple syrup. 4 chunks of pineapple sat on the plate. I was confused by the 4 pieces of pineapple. Why give us 4 pieces if you are given more bacon skewers? The pineapple didn’t have a brown sugar glaze. A little side of maple syrup was more than generous. The bacon was well, very awesome. When is bacon not awesome? Pineapple was fresh but not nearly what was described on the menu. My daughter ordered a PB&J. If you like THICK bread then order this. The bread was obnoxious. PB&J is great but if you don’t want to be killed by bread avoid this sandwich. My daughter had bread overload. She ate only half of the sandwich. I had a grilled cheese. It was good. No complaints BUT my fiancé had a macaroni pulled pork sandwich which made me not like my own sandwich. I hate it when that happens. I ate only half my sandwich and spent the rest of the meal coveting his. I’m going to give this place a shot again and sit inside. The sun decided to come out and beat on us which made it miserable.

We had to give this place a try after reading the positive reviews. I think we had very high expectations after having some of the best Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese sandwiches in New York City last Christmas and was hoping that their version called«The Dude» would match up to the one in New York, and I am going to have to say that it didn’t. The one in New York had 2 cheeses, Cheddar & Mascarpone and pickled jalapenos. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t horrible, it was just ok. I can also see how people griped about the cheese disappearing, because my sandwich was the same way. You opened it up and it looked like there was no cheese at all. It definitely doesn’t look like their picture on their website. I would make sure that you ask for extra cheese with The Dude Sandwich. We also ordered the regular fries, onion rings, the Rustic Tomato Soup and the Cubanesque. The fries and onion rings were on point. The Cubanesque sandwich which my wife ordered was a better sandwich. The Rustic Tomato Soup was definitely not what I expected at all. It was textured and tasted like marinara sauce, which we sent back and got the Baked Potato Soup which was way better, but took away from me dipping my sandwich into a good tomato soup as I ate my sandwich. It was recommended to get the DGC Tomato Ambles soup instead, it is more of a classic tomato soup. They have plenty of drinks and beers for sure, so we will definitely be back.

Can’t go wrong with a restaurant that specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches. Who does’t love a grilled cheese w/tomato soup? And this place does it right. Oh by the way, they also have fried bologna sandwiches, bacon skewers, root beer floats, a bar, buffalo wings, pretzel fried mozzarella, salads, fries, onion rings, bread pudding and more! Tip– they deliver

The best grilled cheese I’ve ever had! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. They have gluten free bread here and it is absolutely great. I had the Cuban grilled cheese, which had a combo of ham and lamb, and a perfect smear of stone ground mustard. Of course the cheese was the best part, being everything one hopes for in a grilled cheese. The crunch of the gluten free bread was perfect and buttery. I hope to return soon to try another variety as their menu had more than just grilled cheese, but also appetizers and other entrees. The fries looked tasty and homemade! They have a full bar in restaurant with lots of unique craft beers to pair with your meal. Laid back and fun atmosphere with super friendly service!

100% yes!!! The services was out of this world! My friend and I came in here just to split and sandwich and we ordered water… That’s normally ground to be ignored by a server, but ours was super attentive and really wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and out sandwich. I got the Cubana Grilled Cheese on Gluten Free bread. First off, the gluten free bread was great, it’s sometimes hard to find a good GF bread at restaurants but they found one that is perfect. Second, the flavors were great, gooey cheese, yummy meat, and a perfect pickle! Great atmosphere, has a bit of the modern and minimal meets a really chic and cute venue. I’ll be coming back here frequently to try the other sandwiches. ALSO… The bathroom sink … COOLESTTHING I’VEEVERSEEN!

I’m gonna go ahead and give this place five stars, primarily because the service every time has been fantastic. I have new place anxiety, basically, and being alone in Dallas means eating alone so I usually stick with the stuff I know, over and over until someone can try something new with me. Anyway, I was really hungry and decided to put on my big girl panties and try it out. The bartender made me feel increeeeeeedibly comfortable, and I know that’s part of their job — but he did a great job of it! Everyone was helpful the second time around as well. Food, so the issue here is that I’m actually not really a grilled cheese fan in general. I tried the rustic and it was really good, I also had their tomato soup with it which wasn’t bad. But it’s a LOT of food, be ready for that! I couldn’t finish it. It was good even though, like I said not really into them. BUT I had this other one, I can’t even remember the name, but it has parmesan and it was SOGOOD. I got it without the jalapeño and bacon and my goodness it was delicious. REALLY hit the spot. I’m sorry I can’t remember the name, but it’s near the top of the menu! :)

A lil expensive, but for the location and the vibes I’d say DGC is definitely a contender for a tasty lunch in the Bishop Arts District. Thanks for giving me a good first impression! If anyone’s been to Local Foods in Houston(also a gourmet sandwich spot), Dallas Grilled Cheese Co. channels some similar vibes(maybe add in some Hopdoddy’s funk with the green accents). Menu on clipboards are divided up into three sections: drank(a variety of beers both on tap and bottled), appetizer(including soups and salads), and of course: sandwiches. FOOD I was feeling porky today so I opted for the Cubanesque: a grilled cheese-Cuban sandwich fusion with lovely swiss, Dijon mustard, pickles, and pork all smooshed between two appropriately thick, crunchy slices of sourdough. Before I get carried away in analyzing the architecture and dissecting the anatomy of a good sandwich, I have to first mention that these sandwiches are more filling than meets the eye! Thought I could polish off that Cuban with room to spare but it filled me up and keep me satisfied all afternoon. The Cubanesque was a nice balance of all the elements — not too much pork, nor too many pickles. I wish there was a tad more mustard for a kick against the sourness of the pickle, but I think that was just personal preference. The toasty crunch of the bread was what made DGC worth it – so many places ignore the foundation of their craft, and it was so refreshing to see a place that gave the«grilled» part of a grilled cheese a run for its money. For sides, I got their sweet potato waffle fries.(Sweet Papas, I believe was their official name.) The waffles were on the thinner side than I prefer but they were crispy and sufficiently salted. My friend got their bologna grilled cheese and The Favorite, along with their normal fries. Overall the fries were just alright, but we both enjoyed our sandwiches! SERVICE Joel was our kind server who checked up on us around two to three times during our meal and refilled our water. He rocked an awesome beard and was overall coolly pleasant. P. S. Shoutout to the fact that DGC has its own branding iron! I appreciated the logo accents on the woodwork.

This place was pretty amazing. This is a place that almost any group of people can come too no matter what their food preference is and find something they will love! Of course we started with beers(good selection btw) no apps since i wanted to give all my love and affection to my main course. I had a cup of the tomato soup with their brie/arugula grilled cheese along with a side of onion rings. I LOVEGRILLEDCHEESE and this meal was spot on! Zero complaints except that my boyfriend had to take me home after we were done so i could lay down on my own couch and be in a food coma. Creative and delicious… love, love, love!

Cheese and bread are two of my favorite things in the world. So I expected to love the grilled cheese sandwiches at Dallas Grilled Cheese Co. But I didn’t. I had the Rustic Grilled Cheese, which consists of smoked gouda, munster, and cheddar. The description sounded amazing in the menu but the taste was merely pretty good. «Pretty good» is pretty disappointing for grilled cheese, in my humble opinion. My friend and I also shared the pretzel-coated mozz and the julius salad. The pretzel-coated mozz tasted like fried mozzarella; it was hard to taste the pretzel. It was still pretty good. The julius salad was not good. The romaine lettuce wasn’t very green. The lettuce seemed to have come from the last remaining bits of a head of romaine, and was even slightly browned in some parts. I would still come back here if I had a grilled cheese craving. I really can’t complain about a pretty good sandwich. I will, however, likely stay away from any items requiring fresh vegetables.

Ah, grilled cheese & tomato soup. Classic childhood favorite. I have not had a decent grilled cheese in, I don’t know, years. and to think, there is finally an entire establishment that specializes in just that.(There IS a God!) We braved it on a Friday night and managed to find a spot in the cramped parking lot. You immediately walk into the patio space out front, which is gorgeous in the summer, I’m sure. The interior is just precious. It’s very. rustic-industrial. They seated us next to the windows where we got front row seats to the feral cat show out in the alley. Marcus was a sweetheart and got our local beers out quick. Based on raving reviews, I ordered a side of onion rings. They were just. onion rings. Didn’t wow me. My sister ordered some specialty sandwich that had pulled BBQ pork, mac & cheese, and bacon in it? It sounded amazing at the time, but it is basically a glorified sandwich you need to eat if you’re too drunk(salty & overly greasy). It was so salty; I had to pick some of the bacon out(un-american, i know). I opted for simplicity and ordered the rustic grilled cheese sandwich.(For whatever reason, I can’t find this anywhere on their online menu, but I swear I didn’t dream it.) The rustic white bread toasted with the perfect crunch, the melted savory cheeses(there were at least 2 – 3 kinds in it) paired with the classic tomato soup created a trifecta of flavors that I could hardly handle. I almost got emotional. not quite. but it would not have surprised me if a tear welled up out of nowhere. Y’all, I really, really enjoyed it. I just wish they would open one in Plano. Remember, less is more, people. Go simple and order even just the classic. You won’t be disappointed. sigh. from the bottom of my heart, thank you, grilled cheese gods. –xoxoxo

So when charting my BBQ and brewery places to visit in Dallas, I definitely did not think I would even entertain the notion of going to a grilled cheese place. I don’t even think to get grilled cheese up where I live! Nonetheless, a couple drinks and some good newly formed friendships later, I found myself on the front deck of Dallas Grilled Cheese Co. First off, we were kinda lucky to arrive here during happy hour. I say kinda because their happy hour starts at 2pm! Thank goodness, because I was able to enjoy quite a few of the vast number of beers they had on tap. Another stroke of luck was that I had just enough room to try one of their grilled cheese sandwiches. albeit their simple, classic one. I did spice it up with the $ 1 ghost pepper cheese option(was spicy but not that hot). I also threw in a slice of tomato. Delicious! I did see one of their grilled cheese sandwiches was served on rustic bread. However, all their grilled cheeses are served on crusty bread — not your regular sliced white. They’re also grilled in such a way that the bread’s crustiness is enhanced. They made me realize I need to work on my own technique! I did have a chance to try their other offerings. There’s one with a parmesan crust on the bread which is heavenly. Their chicken fajita was good too with thick chunks of chicken breast. To convert someone who does not believe in ordering grilled cheeses at a restaurant is something Dallas Grilled Cheese should be proud of. I would definitely recommend this place — whether it be for a few beers during happy hour, as a change of pace from BBQ, and especially if you straight up love grilled cheese sandwiches!

5 stars for friendly service, ooey gooey grilled cheese, and yummy shakes! I had the DGC Favorite with 3 different cheeses and real bacon crumbles on parmesan crusted sourdough. My hubby had the grilled Cuban sandwich. I also downed a creamy, thick, not too sweet, Malted Milk Chocolate shake! Whew, was that bad boy yummy! Both sandwiches were spectacularly cheesy and yummy. Honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on that menu. Happy Hour is 2 – 6, M-F. It knocks $ 2 off beer, $ 1 off wine & well drinks, and you can also score some $ 7 craft cocktails. From the moment we stepped into the door, we were treated as welcome«regulars» even though this was our first time there. Very few restaurants display that type of customer service these days. The restaurant space has a nice, homey feel /décor — just what you’d expect a grilled cheese spot to be. I can’t wait to try the other«sammiches.»
