Really good pork tamales. Can’t wait to try the chicken tamales! But, go early– they sell out of the chicken fast.

Bought 4 dozen Tamales for Christmas eve. 3 dozen pork and 1 dozen chicken. They were TERRIBLE. Way to much masa and were very dry even though we steamed them to warm up. Tried pork and chicken side by side, could not tell a difference. Very disappointing.

I bought some pork and beef tamales. They were small and dry, very bad. Could not tell difference between them. I bought some menudo but have not tried it. Menudo juice was good, not correct mix of meat and hominy! Prepared masa was good. Changed review to one star. I WILLNOTGOBACK. BADTAMALES, GOELSEWHERE!!!

I came in here to pick up some Masa for my family to make our tamales for Christmas. I called DTTF a few days in advance to find out some information about their ordering process(ie:deadline, cost, etc) They told me to call 2 days in advance and they’d have it ready for me. For prepared Masa they charged $ 1.95, and regular masa was $.99 a pound. i opted for about 20 pounds of prepared. When I came in they had it ready to go immediately. They were really friendly and helpful. An observation I had while I was there is that if you’re wanting to purchase tamales — make sure you call ahead and order them instead of dropping in since they run out of certain types early in the day. For those familiar with making tamales their prepared masa was very well prepared with a nice orangish tint due to the chili powder added in. This was probably one of the best batches of prepared masa we’ve ever purchased.

This is the best place to go for tamales that I know of. I like the pork and chicken best. Their chips are also very good. I go to the location on W. 8th street. Price is good(about $ 7/dozen). Not much parking, but that is not usually a problem.

I am not native Mexican, nor am I a connoisseur of authentic Mexican food, but I really like Tamales. I decided to head down to Oak Cliff in search of them and figured I’d give this place a shot. I got a dozen of the beef tamales and a dozen of the pork with jalapenos. I thoroughly enjoyed them and they tasted much more authentic than other places I’ve tried. That may not say a lot, but they were good. If anyone’s got a better place for tamales let me know, but I like heading down here. It’s also close to Norma’s Café, another good place.
