We have visited to Dr. Ellen Turner office for an allergy«Hives» Issue which is occuring for more than 6 months for my wife. She spoke to us with great attitude and whatever questions we were asking she turns us down saying«You are asking Wrong Questions» and advises us keep quiet and just listen to her. She goes off on whichever thing we tried to ask or want to clarify as If she is doing a favor in seeing us. She doesn’t know how to respect the patients and neither her staff members. Very bad attitude. If we know the answers for our problem then why would we go to see her. With a tenure of disease for more than 6 mo we have shown to many allergist specialist and other doctors and was curious to know why this thing is happening. Instead of explaining us the scientific reason for known and unknown, she expect us to know everything and gets annoyed If we try to ask her the reason.

She is no Rosacea specialist I’ve been dealing with Rosacea for the last 4 – 5 years. As frustrating as it is dealing with this skin condition it is more frustrating trying to get a straight answer from a dermatologist as to the cause of my outbreaks. The first doctor I had actually took a skin scraping and told me my p&p and ocular Rosacea was caused by excess demodex mites which makes sense because I’m losing hair and sulfur based products do a good job keeping my condition in check. Every derm since has just taken a look and given me antibiotics and dodges any questions I have about the actual cause. This derm, Ellen Turner took a look and actually had the nerve to say I was misdiagnosed and only had acne vulgaris. She wanted no part of any questions regarding the cause of my condition and actually said that diet and allergies had nothing to do with it and then prescribed me antibiotics to treat inflammation. I’m done with dermatologists. Next doc I see will be an allergy specialist who will tell me the real cause of the inflammation.

What an awesome cosmetic dermatologist. I am so pleased that I found her in Cleburne, TX. Her Dallas office has an equally impressive staff for laser treatments to your face. I am impressed.

I visited Dr Turner last month. This is a complicated review for me to write as there are many different aspects of this business that I have observed, and there is good and bad. First of all, front desk staff is not very polite — serious staff issues here. They are not very IT-savy either — takes them ages to do anything with the computer. There are also some unusual practices for a doctor’s office. For instance, they made me handwrite my credit card information on a form. I have seen cards swiped before onto a PC– but to handwrite it seems a bit strange in this age. Also be prepared for long waits here, I think it is expected that everything is delayed by at least 30 minutes. My appointment with Dr Turner on the other hand went great. She clearly is an expert and is a fine dermatologist. And they have a very efficient system whereby Dr Turner works with a nurse to take down notes and make sure all follow up actions are taken care of. I can’t speak to the cosmetic services as I was not interested in any, but I looked at the price list and it was extremely high. Made me feel like this can’t be the most cost effective place for cosmetic procedures.

I went to go see Dr. Turner about a skin problem that I was having. She was very professional, considerate of me not having insurance, and timely. I will be back!

OK. So I had to update since my last post, as I now do monthly microderm(Which are $ 59/month) with Tina(WHOISFANTASTIC) and I have seen Dr. Turner a few times and my skin has never looked this good. Hours have been extended which is nice, you just need to book early to get the later hours.

Earlier this year, I was fortunate to purchase discount certificates through my workplace and chose DermLaser institute of Dallas as one of them. I was very impressed by the staff and the skin technician that serviced my visits. I had a peel and a microderm abrasion that were both excellent.

Nice Park Cities office, but not so posh that you’re worried about paying for their digs instead of services. Compared to similar clinics that offer photofacials, dermabrasion, fraxel, fillers, etc., I find their prices to be mid-range. Not the cheapest, but it is significant that a fully credentialed dermatologist(Ellen Turner) is on-site who actually performs the more delicate procedures herself and supervises the clinicians for the rest. That factor also ensures more of a «total skin» approach since she can diagnose specific skin conditions and make a qualified medical assessment. At some clinics I’ve tried, I had to more or less guess myself at what was going on with my skin and take a shot in the dark about using a procedure that would work. Better to see a real dermatologist if you have real skin issues, I’ve decided. Dr. Turner and the clinicians all have polished and professional«bed side manners.» The support staff seems a little overwhelmed at times, but I found them consistently friendly and courteous and they will take the time to manage your records, which can get complicated since billing varies by individual procedures, packages and specials. The good news is that they HAVE packages and specials, which make expensive procedures more feasible for the average pocketbook. This is also one of a handful of clinics I’ve found that offers Ultherapy, which I tried, the results are pleasing, and«touch-ups» are available at a pretty reasonable price. Most of all, as someone with rosacea, I have received numerous photofacials to keep the condition at bay. The photofacials at Dermlaser are, again, not the cheapest available but are invariably are the most comfortable and effective. One word to those of us who prefer extra hand holding: If you need to extensively discuss any concerns or feel the need to more thoroughly reassess your skin or expectations at any point during your treatments, schedule a consultation. I have found these to be helpful and reassuring; the doctor usually does not have oodles of extra time during or after a specific procedure to chat at length. Don’t try to turn an appointment for a procedure into a full blown consultation. A quick question or two, sure. But for anything else, set aside an appointment just for that. Over the years I’ve seen many dermatologists and overall this has been my best experience to date. My skin looks remarkably better since I began treatment. And BTW, I use those SkinMedica products and, yes, they are distressingly expensive but guess what? They work.(And I’ve tried just about all the lines at this point.) If the staff push the products a little, I can see why. Since I began investing a little more time and money on a premium daily skincare régime … big difference. Maybe I won’t need to see the doctor as often now that my skin stays consistently clear and bright. One last note — get on the email list for their special events and seminars. Good way to stay up-to-date on the latest procedures and products, and it’s a nice party.

I first came to Dermlaser because of a groupon. I have remained a customer for 2 years now. I have only used the spa services. Tina and Rebecca are fantastic. They are honest about what you need and understand if you can’t afford procedures and offer other solutions. Their skin care products are great and the new discount card helps defer the costs. The office is under new management and is running smoother then ever. They have extended their hours to accommodate working people. I have recently taken my daughter to Dr Turner for acne and she was very helpful and the treatment she suggested seems to be working.

The Dr. has spent 5 min or less with me each time and has yet to find a resolution for the reason I go… ok, most doctors are probably like this(although I would expect her to find a solution after so many costly visits) so she gets the one star. The front office staff is the reason I will never go back. It’s not worth dealing with them! They are very unorganized and do not want to help. I spent an hour in the office trying to pay my bill when their system kept saying my carecredit account was declined. Even if it didn’t turn out that it was their system that needed to be updated, they shouldn’t have treated their patient the way they treated me. After an hour of waiting and dealing with their rude attitudes I expected at least an apology for the wait. No apology though… just a bill in the mail that was double what they said the cost for the visit was in the office(because they are unorganized and never ended up charging my account like they said they would). The billing«manager» is the worst of all of them and should not be allowed have interaction with patients. I knew this the first day and it was frustrating knowing I would have to deal with her to correct the billing problem. Still, I was polite and tried to explain the situation but of course they don’t want to help over the phone either and will leave you on hold for 10 minutes or longer unless you call back. Now starts the annoying process of getting recorded phone messages with my credit card company from that day and disputing the bill… sigh…so sad that there are business out there like this. It’s just not right. Don’t waste your time or money here. I also wish I would have read reviews sooner, as I have had the same poor experiences as other posts where they had my appointment wrong more than once and tried to make excuses. Too bad some posts can’t be seen on the main page because we haven’t posted to Unilocal enough… but this was worth making a Unilocal account for it if helps someone else avoid the same problems with this place.

I had the same experience as the other poster. I went in to the office for a treatment that I had purchased through Groupon. I asked a question of the Tech and she checked to see if the Dr was available. She was not. I scheduled an appt to check a spot on my face. She charged me $ 125 for the«surgery» which was a 5 second spray of liquid nitrogen. In addition, I had to pay $ 120 to be setup as a new patient.
