Had the ribs and brisket. Pretty good for airport food. The brisket especially had a really nice smoke ring and was very tender

While in Texas I often try to eat barbecue, as it is some of the best in the country. If your schedule does not allow time to sample one of the many options in the state, at least you can get some in the airport. Dickey’s is a chain, so at least you know what you are getting. On the day I went, not sure why but it was very, very slow. It is set up like a cafeteria that you slide your tray along and select your food, including sides. The brisket was good, but needed more sauce. Also, I did not notice any extra sauce dispensers. Add sauce and speed up the service.

Just ate at the one by delta E29 gate. Staff difficult to understand, and they seemed to have difficulty carrying out simple orders. Greasy gross tables. I have eaten at Dickeys passing through dfw but no more.

A little overpriced, but good airport BBQ. It was honestly much better than I expected. We both got pulled pork sandwiches. I ordered a potato casserole that was absolutely fantastic. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Mac ‘N Cheese. Next time I’m flying through Dallas, I’d go back.

Got the three meat sampler. Ribs were amazing(moist, tender, good crust). Brisket was fall apart tender and moist. Pulled pork had a nice crust and was moist. I like my meat a little smokier, so I’m giving it 4 stars.

Stopped to dine at Dickey’s(in DFW) while on a layover. I have been attempting to try food from different BBQ locations in the airport each time I have to stop. During this visit, I ordered a beef brisket sandwich with a side of green beans(and bacon). The brisket slab was huge and a generous portion was cut, sliced and placed on the bun. I also asked for the meat to be sauced. The beef was flavorful and tender. The sauce was not heavy and added to the meat. The green beans were over cooked(IMO) and the bacon was sparse. I thought this location was good — certainly better than other eateries in the terminal, and would like to stop in again to try a few more selections.

Blah. This reminded me of a school cafeteria. I know it’s airport food(and I have pretty low standards for that), but this was not good. I would’ve probably been more satisfied with McDonalds or some crappy fast food. I landed in Terminal D and should have eaten there — better food choices, nicer terminal. When I got to Terminal A and saw the lack of food choices(and how big the terminal was, I was sad). I was torn between Dickey’s, TGIF, or a Mexican restaurant which would have been a 10 – 15 min walk. I should’ve gone with the Mexican food, but decided since I was in Texas, I should eat BBQ, plus the reviews on Unilocal seemed decent. I went for the sandwich with smoked turkey. They sliced up some turkey(looked more like ham to be, but whatever) and then threw some BBQ sauce on there. It’s supposed to come with jalapenos, pickles and onions if you want, but the guy moved me down the line and didn’t ask me if I wanted anything more than just the meat on bread. I had to ask another person as I was checking out to get me the condiments. The sandwich itself was meh. I’d give it a 2 out of 5, maybe a 2.5 if I was generous. The bun was not warm, the meat was just okay, and the sauce was mediocre. I’ve had better BBQ almost anywhere. I got 1 side of mac & cheese. This was like cafeteria food mac & cheese. Throwing Velveeta on pasta noodles does not make mac & cheese. It was salty to boot too — I prefer Kraft Mac & Cheese. Overall, disappointing experience. I will not return next time I’m at the Dallas airport. Don’t give me the«It’s airport food, it’s not going to be great», because I’ve had good BBQ at the Salt Lick at the Austin airport which was delicious. Next time I’ll walk 10 – 15 minutes out of the way for something else.

BBQ«pit» is right. Everything that Cousins brought to the table in my last stop in DFW, this place failed to do so. Poor staff attitudes, mix and match options, and I threw my Mac and Cheese out after two bites. Lesson learned. Not all Texas BBQ joints are the same. The bbq beef brisket sandwich was tasty though.

I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw, with BBQ sauce on the sandwich($ 7.45; $ 8.06 with tax). The sandwich was OK, really average overall. The pork was not bad, but was dry and lacked any flavor or smokiness. I thus had to rely more on the BBQ sauce for the flavor, but the man preparing the food didn’t put very much sauce on there. Party foul indeed! I thought the slaw was fine. Refreshing and crunchy here, not very creamy(which for me is a plus). The man working the counter likes the brisket and even gave me a free sample. It was OK again, but I must note he cut off the part of the brisket with flavor and handed me the inside(that did not have as much flavor). Come on dude, you know very well(hopefully) that the ends are where it’s at for flavor! I will say, the dude was a nice guy. Average experience at best here. Then again, what more can I expect from a «fast-casual,» franchised establishment?

Idk, I’m from Hawaii and we don’t have much places like this out here. I’m my opinion for a Fast food BBQ sandwich I thought it was very good. Macncheese side was good as well. That hit the spot and had me satisfied for my whole plane ride.

I had only sides here, so I normally wouldn’t even put this in writing, but the experience I had made it worth mentioning. This Dickie’s Barbecue Pit is located in the DFW airport terminal A, near gate 18. Due to bad weather in Dallas, the airport had been closed for about an hour earlier, and the surrounding terminal scene was rather hectic. When I hit Dickie’s, it was not a «stand in a long line» busy, but more of a «steady» busy. I went in and walked right up to the counter. Not feeling like a full meal, I chose to have just a couple of the sides. I must say, however, that this is harder to do than it sounds standing there as the meats look amazing, and the BBQ smell is indeed appealing. You order a la cafeteria style, shuffling along in front of a serving station with the food visible behind a low glass wall. The server had a thick Latin accent, and was a little difficult to understand, especially with his rapid fire delivery. I managed to get in an order for a small Caesar side salad and an order of waffle fries. I asked for them to go. The fries sitting in the basket behind him were apparently old(surprising at lunch time on a busy day), so he dropped in some new ones. The gentleman then looked at me and said(curtly) «You can go pay». I walked down a few feet to the register where I told the gentleman there what I had ordered. He responded curtly«Oh, man. That’s just two sides», like I should know to say only that. I said«Yes», and I paid. I still hadn’t received any food. He looked at me and said«Stand over there», and pointed. Rude, I thought. I stepped back, and he greeted the woman behind me with«What you get, Lady»? I’m sure although not meaning to be, I noticed that his demeanor came across as very rude to all of the patrons, it was not simply me. A minute later, I received my order. I knew these were fresh waffle fries, as I saw them go into the fryer. Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case in an attempt to get orders out, they pulled them out too early. They were limp and unappealing. I found that too bad, as the portion size was reasonable and they came across as having great potential, real potato skin and all. One of my restaurant pet peeves is the notion that putting Caesar dressing on anything makes it a Caesar salad. Caesar is made with Romaine lettuce. This was iceberg, and it was old. I mean, rust mark old. I don’t know if they cut their own, or if it’s bagged, but this was awful: orange and rusty on a large part of the lettuce. A sprinkling of two-inch long hair width strands of parmesan cheese came with the salad. No croutons were supplied or offered. The highlight was the dressing. It was actually a very nice rendition of Caesar dressing. So much so that you could almost taste a little bit of salty anchovy in there. The final hair width item in my salad was — yes, a hair width piece of hair about three inches long and found near the bottom of my salad. Not mine(as everyone always asks«Are you sure it wasn’t yours?), since I get my hair cut with a number one blade and haven’t had three inch long hair since Madonna was a «Material Girl». Oftentimes you are trapped at an airport with limited options; this was one of those times. Undercooked fries, disgusting(in more ways than one) Caesar salad and rude and difficult to understand staff makes this one of my most disappointing culinary endeavors in a long time. Stop in there again? Maybe, if death by starvation is imminent. Recommend it? Never.

Decided to try Dickie’s since I had time before my flight. BBQ from the other night was not good, so the curve was already low. The place seemed busy enough and looked good. I had the beef brisket with baked-beans and Mac-n-Cheese. Now this was much better! So, whenever I’m passing thru DFW, I’ll be sure to stop by! Very Recommended!

I’ve stopped by here a couple of times on my way through DFW and for a BBQ place that is located in an airport, this place is actually pretty decent. I think their prices are a little high but that is to be expected in an airport. I always get the ribs and usually smoked sausage also. The area that it is located in is a busy part of the airport so it’s great for people watching while you chow down. The service was very friendly when I went there also.

So I noticed some varying reviews for this place even within the DFW airport. Looks like the Terminal A version is way better than Terminal C’s shop.(really?) Here is what I do know, the airlines serve literally nothing on cross county flights except for peanuts and crackers. I had a 30 minute layover and wanted something besides lousy fast food. Lucky for me this place was right across from my boarding gate. I got the BBQ Turkey Breast sandwich, freshly cooked and sliced to order. It was very tender and moist and the BBQ sauce was great along with a small side of crunchy and zesty coleslaw.
The portion was just the right size and all things considered for being in an airport, I thought it was very satisfying and reasonably priced. I would eat here again and have no qualms saying its an «airport food» winner.

For a fast food place in an airport I was pleasantly surprised with the pulled pork. If waiting on a AA flight at DFW definitely check it out. I was excpeting cafeteria-quality meat but yet this was better than most BBQ places back home(sub-Smoque by miles, but still good).

Dickey’s is a BBQ fast food chain. This Dickey’s in in the airport. I had a brisket sandwich with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese on the side. I thought everything was kind of bland and just okay. Still we were in an airport in Texas and wanted BBQ, and Dickey’s came through. PS — They have beer.
