El Pollo Regio

Right down from where I work and I think for a simple lunch it’s more than enough. I do like most of the food from this place. You can’t expect to have like the authentic tex mex food from this place, but it is close. Aside from all the food, the winner for me is horchata! Food is food, but the horchata is refreshing. I think the chicken salad was really good.

Last night I waited over 30 minutes in the drive through. The lady taking my order was rude and asked me to pull around to the window. When they found someone who spoke English, I was told they were out of chicken. Tonight I called to find out if they had chicken. I was greeted in Spanish. When I said I didn’t speak sanish and asked if they had chicken, I got attitude. She never answered my question and only said that they were very busy and I’d have to wait 30 minutes, twice.
I don’t mind wait as long as I can get what I want. The service at this location has never been great, but it has degraded over the past few months.

Waited in line behind four cars over 20 minutes. When I arrived at the window I was told they were closed. Ridiculous!!!

Drive thru sucks. Expect a 30+ min wait. Lady taking my order was rude. Kept cutting me off and didn’t get my order right. Had to repeat my self several times. When I finally pulled up to the window it took another 5+ minutes to pay and get my food even though it was sitting right there. When I got home my food was cold and they forgot my rice.

Make sure before u pay to ask how long before the chicken is done had to wait 45 minutes and they had already charged me for the meal.

I must have been sick or something. Ok. I really was sick with a cold. I thought about chicken. Yeah. That’s the ticket. Went in to order and it was like I just scratched the record at the party. Uhgh oooh. Oh well. I’ll go for it anyway. Some fifteen year old female walked over and just stood and looked at me. I looked at her. I thought I was going to have to throw a sign or something. Then I said I would like a half of chicken. She said eleven. I said I just want the chicken. She said eleven. Do you sell just the chicken? Eleven (now she’s put out). Well sh@t. Give me the eleven.
I paid without exchanging anymore words other than the price in numerals. Well I guess I did get the gringo piece. Burnt. Tasted like it fell in the fire. Maybe the piece they forgot. Or maybe it was left over from the day before.
I think the area, the people, the food, and that attitude screams FUBU. For us by us. You can have this joint. Pretty disgusting.

I’m here right now. I went up to the register, said #11. And they said ok. Said it was $ 9.74. I said ok. Gave them my card. She swiped. She handed me my card and receipt. I stood there and waited for my cup. For $ 9.74, I was getting a cup. She looked at me. I looked at her. I said «I need my cup please.» She looked bewildered. She looked at the guy next to her. He looked back. They looked at the girl next to them. All three looked at me. I said «I ordered a meal, I need my cup.» Took them a solid 45 seconds to tell me that the number didn’t mean an actual meal. It was just for the quesadilla.
I’m now eating a dry quesadilla.
I’m never coming here again.

Fresh, grilled chicken. We got the whole chicken with the rice and beans. Good place to get a good meal quick and at a decent price! The drive thru takes a little while but it’s worth it. The avocado sauce is spicy and delicious on everything!

Chicken is so delicious! And they really pack on the tortas, for the same prize of a meal at your average fast food place you can feed two. I mean their tortas are huge. Can’t get enough of this place!

Great chicken and sides. Friendly staff!!! WARNING: Do NOT go through the drive through. I went today after work sat in line for 30 – 45 minutes way hinging people park, walk in, and LEAVE!!! With food I’m not happy. Tired and just got off of work. I love the food. That’s why I gave four stars but drive through gets negative 10!!!

The best Chicken in Town … and if you order carne asada it will make your lunch or dinner even better, every order of chicken or carne asada comes with tortillas, rice and beans, lime and grilled onions… what else can u ask for ???

Okay so this is the second location that I have visited and I must admit that this one was way better than the previous locay (W.Davis near Sunset HS). The food was just better. I got a #1 but instead of steak I got grilled, or is it flame brolied, chicken. It was so good. The bean were tasty and the meal was so filling.
I am not saying I am going to run back every chance I get but it is defintiely a viable lunch option if I am in the area.
It warrants a try! Most people get the lunch special-it’s like $ 2.99 and i believe you get a thigh, a drum stick and beans and rice, so there is low risk and you can judge for yourself.
Oh and another thing… in both locations the restaurant was very clean and so were the restrooms which is a big plus for me! Kudos to you Pollo Regio for cleanliness!
