On the way to an event downtown, a dirty window storefront with an artfully funky display of colorful sneakers and twisted mannequins offered some advice in a large white 80’s sticker lettering - «If he doesn’t rock kicks then he can kick rocks.» An old 1950s retail space is touched with hip thrift and new fashion, which seemed mostly for men. «This wall is someone’s personal thrift collection,» said the cute young boy in plaid with surfer long sandy brown hair. One black leather jacket, $ 400, claimed to be owned by Kanye West. Other cool jackets started in the $ 125 range. Fun sneakers, in the $ 100 range, lined the wall of this long roomy space that was also chocked full of fun retro thrift shirts from around $ 30. On the edge of Deep Ellum, hopefully this area will continue to breed such decent locally owned retail outfits. Vinyl section Comfy chairs if your tired

Epocha is a breath of fresh air for the city of Dallas. There aren’t many places you can see a assortment of shoes curated as well as these were. I also like the fact that the shop is not pact with the common brands such as «Nike» and that it’s not yet another sport’s related shoe store, Because whats the point you’d have to pass about a million of those to get to this one. Forgive my «RANT» its just good to see a place that actually speaks and listens to it’s core customer. I shopped there for the first time a week ago with my son. My son is not easy to impress and he called it his«Favorite store ever» I’m sure he meant that when he said it. But the fact is Epocha has legs. If they can continue to build on what looks to be a great start. This store has the chance to become a direction leader. I wish them well and would love to see more of this type of direction in Dallas.

As you first walk in you get an since of a home type feel which atomically puts you at ease. If the art gallery in the first half doesn’t catch you eye hopefully the clothing selection will. Epocha is an unique home has array of various clothing brand that complement the aesthetics. You can tell by the friendly service provided by Brandon and the staff that the its more then just a clothing store for him. The store is an gift to the community with it’s constant supports the local art community surrounding around it. Let me say there is not store anywhere close to atmosphere Epocha, it is one of Dallas cultural spots that sell an great selective of clothing and supports the community.

Epocha is truly one of the hidden gems in the DFW fashion scene. It is the go-to for men’s streetwear, music, and art. The atmosphere and staff make you feel welcome instantly and it’s a great place to chill, shop, and chop. When it comes to street wear, they run the latest brands and the latest color ways to keep you looking fresh. The are sneaker savants that know that there is a world beyond«the swoosh» and will get your head right and educate you. Brandon, Leon, and Simon are style kings and are on the pulse of what’s current, yet know the difference between fad and classic. Thankfully the pieces you get from Epocha will keep you looking good many seasons after your purchase. No more ordering online for your gear. If you see it in NY or LA, Epocha has it right in Dallas. One of the coolest parts of their line is the curated line crafted by Tony Williams. Successful in his own right, he also happens to be the cousin of Kanye West. If you look hard enough, you may even come across a piece worn by Yeezy himself. The best part about Epocha is that they keep it local. Working with local artists to further develop Deep Ellum and keeping the scene alive and vibrant. It won’t be too long before these guys blow up and become a pillar of the community. Good heads, good people, and a heart for the community. Go see them today!
