So so good! This is my friend’s favorite restaurants since childhood so we came to see what it was about! Friendly service, very good tex-mex, and a nice homely vibe all around. The parking lot needs some work, but there’s still plenty of parking available on the side of the building.

Michael and I stopped here for dinner because one of the people he waited on suggested this place. Upon arriving we noticed the décor right away! Christmas exploded in here! We waited for a host for no more than a few minutes. We sat at the table and were greeted with chips and salsa immediately. They serve small portions in chips, which is a good thing! The salsa was temperature warm and had a small spice to it. The salsa was a bit watery but had good flavor. We ordered our drinks and had a frozen margarita and horchata. Both were great! I always order Guisado De Puerco everywhere I can so that was obviously my choice. We ordered a small queso and that may be the only time I order that again. It tasted like powdered cheese with rotel added. Our meals came out and was impressed by the portions, so I could make two meals out of it. Michael ordered carne asada and ordered it medium and it came out well done. Whomp whoop. My guiso was amazing! They make homemade flour tortillas and they were perfect! The crust was light brown and they were fluffy and creamy! Heaven! We didn’t have dessert but that gives a reason to come back!!!

The food was really good… The tortillas are amazing… Took a star because the menudo was not up to my standard… The taste of the salsa was different… But it was a good place to eat… Keep up the good work…

This is the worst place for Mexican food it’s over priced and not to standard. I’m a true believer in you get what you paid but this is not the case for example the queso tasted like microwave government cheese, the enchiladas sauce horrible, the beef was dull with no seasoning. Warning if you tried to return an item you didn’t like they will charge you half even if you just took a bite. I do not recommend this place to anybody you can find better and cheaper food in other places. The only good thing was their salsa for chips that’s why I gave it one star and because I couldn’t go lower lol.

I gotta say, I have been here a few times. Only good review I can give 2 stars for is their chicharron con huevo burritos and their homemade tortillas and that is being too nice. But for them to say their food is made fresh daily is a complete and utter lie. I ordered their menudo and it was the worst tasting $ 10.00 bowl of menudo I have ever had!!. That is DEFINATELYNOTFRESH!!! That is canned menudo! And they are going to charge 10 bucks for that canned slop and say it’s fresh! That is a huge disgrace. I felt horrible paying for a full bowl I only took a couple bites from because I thought I was going to vomit. I will not be returning ever again. There is no comparing fresh menudo to the canned stuff. Oh and their rice is full of comino. You’re better off going somewhere else… High prices for crap…

They have good food but bad customer service. I waited almost 10 mins to be seated. At least 3 people, including the manger saw us standing there and did not even ask if we needed help or hold on we will be with you in a moment. We finally were seated and because of the bad customer service we got up and left. I will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to anyone,!anymore I was so disappointed. We spoke to the manager and he made an excuse about setting up tables for a large group.

I USED to come here because of their great food and customer service. I came with my wife on a Thursday and the restaurant was empty and we had to wait 15 minutes before we got seated. No hostess at the front, no one advised they would be with us and come to find out the manager looked us dead in the eye and didn’t bother to ask if we’ve been helped or if we needed to be seated. Now THAT’S a lousy manager. Never again will we visit this ONCE premier restaurant. What a dump.

This place has always been my favorite place to eat. It’s definitely a drive but well worth it. I always order the beef steak la Mexicana. It’s perfect spicy and such a large portion. Everything here is amazing. It’s not Tex Mex to me. Wait staff friendly and place is clean.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. They have the best tortillas by far. Breakfast burritos are huge and delicious. Only downfall is they only serve Barbacoa on Sundays.

I have been here twice and the first time I was not impressed. However, my husband loved his dish. We decided to give Gonzalez another try today and I’m glad we did. I loved the crispy tacos. The taco shells were homemade and really light and crispy. The fillings were fresh and tasty. One caveat: the taco meat(beef) is heavily seasoned with cumin, as is the rice. If that is not your thing, get something else. Next time I will get the crispy tacos with cheese only and add on dollops of refried beans. I usually won’t eat refried beans in restaurants because they are generally bland and tasteless. Not these!!! They were the bomb! I ate most of a double order and took the rest home. My husband’s carne asada was sensational. It was tender and juicy, and was accompanied by lots of skillet-browned onions. This was my favorite of everything we ate. The margarita was good but it seemed very expensive… $ 8.00 for a small one. It was the same price as the tacos! The total bill was under $ 30; not bad, especially considering the high quality and generous quantity of the food. We will definitely be back soon. I’m looking forward to finding a new favorite next time!

This place was ehhh. I’d give it a 2.5 maybe if you could do half stars. The food was just okay. Wasn’t nasty though. The chips and salsa they give you is again just okay. I’ve had salsa that is so much better at other Mexican restaurants. There are no free refills with any drink, even something as simple as a coke because they serve cans. The lemonade was good and came in a big cup but again no free refills. Service was good enough. Again nothing special. Prices were a little higher than a normal TexMex restaurant, especially for lunch time. There was a good ambiance and a very cultured design scheme which really put you in the Mexican mood, per se lol. There was TVs in one of the rooms which was cool. The feng shui was probably the best part of this place. At the end of the day, everything was just OKAY at best. Nothing special. Not worth a trip and definitely not a second trip, especially since the DFW area is RIDDLED with Tex Mex restaurants.

Simply the best as close to mom’s cooking as possible. Been going here since 1988 and it is simple Mexican food as I remembered as a child growing up. No bells and whistles here. If you want bells and whistles go to another Mexican restaurant. Just good olé fashion down to earth Mexican food. I’ll miss it When I move to NY. Enjoy folks

Service was good and drinks were good as well. They have Big Red which is the best thing ever! The salsa was mediocre. The wait was 30 minutes and they don’t have a big waiting area for a restaurant that seems to always be on a wait. Overall it was just okay for the food. But those tortillas tho!

This is the best tex-mex I’ve ever had. Everything was so homemade and honestly tasted like it was cooked with love! The flour tortillas were to-die-for. Awesome Micheladas too! A must-go if you are nearby! Worth the drive if you aren’t ;)

When you walk into a tex-mex place in Dallas and realize you are the only ones not of hispanic-heritage, you know this place is legit. I honestly felt like I was in the tex-mex place in the movie«Selena.» Started off with their complimentary chips and salsa… wow, so good. I preferred mixing the red and green since the green was too spicy but I wanted the kick that the red was lacking. The chips were definitely made in house… or at least they tasted as though they were. I had a taco and enchilada special. The tortillas was soft and warm… I could have eaten at least 10 more. I got the veg-friendly red sauce on my enchilada and it was perfect. Smoky, good amount of heat. The next time I want real tex-mex in a see of tex-mex places, I know just the place.

I had lunch here on a wednesday with about 10 coworkers and the service wasn’t bad. I ordered from the lunch specials and it comes with iced tea in a super large cup(probably so they don’t have to refill it often. ha!). This place is pretty legit for tex-mex restaurant. I ordered the Carne Guisada, which is slow-simmered beef tips with rice and beans on the side. The beef was tender and the sauce made it kind of taste like chili. They also give thick tortillas on the side. It was veryyy festive inside. Lots of decorations.

This is a legit tex-mex restaurant not too far from my house. I will definitely come back here. It’s wayyy better than the more main stream tex-mex joints which give me the sadz. :’( Their chips and salsa are good, which I rarely say about salsa. They have a spicier green tomatillo based salsa if requested. I preferred the red. Horchatas are my fav and they are great here. It’s probably an horchata mix, but whatevs. Some places screw that up. The beef fajitas are really good, served up sizzling with grilled onions. It’s a large portion for two. Sides of guacamole, Pico de Gallo, refried beans, and Mexican rice accompany the order. The tortillas are big, thick, and delish! They are very filling, too. Nothing like those mission store bought torts. The décor is super bright and festive. Service is great and the place is clean. They have a big lunch crowd especially, when compared to a neighboring Taqueria. FYI — Parking can get tight.
