Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dallas East – Fair Park

The newly renovated hotel was far better than I expected ! My mother panicked because she said it was in a bad part of town but my cousin lives near by and I wanted to be close to her due to the fact that we were visiting because of her graduation, plus I know what hood is and this is not ! The staff was great and very friendly as well as helpful. They have an indoor pool which would be nice in the summertime when it’s too hot. Their breakfast buffet is good too. They have this pancake machine and all you do is press a button and it makes 2 of them. Their coffee is good, there is yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, cinnamon rolls (good size), bagels and cream cheese, english muffins or regular toast, eggs, turkey sausage, pork links, biscuits and sausage and gravy. They have orange juice, apple juice and tea. Those pancakes were pretty darn good too ! The hotel smells clean and the rooms are spacious and they have keurig machines, mini fridges and microwaves. The bathroom products are bath and body works «white citrus» which smell great. I was very pleased with this hotel and would certainly stay again. Thanks Holiday Inn !

Very clean hotel! I always stay here with no problem.

I usually like staying in HIEs across the nation but this one by far is the worst I’ve ever stayed in for a weekend visit. The rooms don’t get cleaned until after 2 p.m. The soaps and shampoos don’t get replenished. The carpet had stains as well as the love seat so much that you wouldn’t want to sit on it without some type of covering! The breakfast is very good but that’s about it for this place.

Although I’ve never had a bad experience during my stay at Holiday Inn Express Suites, this location is excellent. Clean rooms, good pillows, good atmosphere. The breakfast was really delicious other than the 0630 time instead of 0600.
Only con was that the washers were in inoperable.

Very large and clean rooms. The staff were friendly too. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was for the indoor pool and that was very disappointing. We went in December and we’re hoping the kids can swim for fun but it was very cold, I don’t mean the water, but the room itself didn’t feel heated so it was almost impossible to stay there more than 20 minutes. It was also very dim, barely any lights, just not good.
Overall great as long as you’re not going to the pool!

Very clean. Large room. Well lit parking lot with all night security. Desk clerks very friendly and helpful. Breakfast bar. Will stay here again.

Just spent a horrible weekend at the Dallas East Holiday Inn… First day no makeup of room and fresh towels + no iron… Worse was the attitude of the desk clerk who said «that is housekeeping and not my job»… Later that night or actually 1:00 in the morning a group of 20 some people decided to party in the breakfast room not too far from our room… A call to the desk clerk did not resolve the issue and the party continued until 2 a.m. even though the area can be seen from the front desk… The next day the room was made up but no fresh towels — again… After visiting the front desk it took more than an hour to get fresh towels and that was far too late before we had to leave for an engagement. … Upon checkout and being asked about our visit we were offered an apology for the problems and promised «points» toward a future stay — like I would want to go back there again… That is not going to happen… And did I say the walls are paper thin… Bad service and bad attitude!!!

Between reading some of the reviews on Unilocal and TripAdvisior about this property, I definitely had mixed feelings prior to my arrival. However, once arriving to the property and checking in, those feelings went away. I found this HIE quite beautiful inside and very welcoming. The staff was very courteous and welcoming. The rooms were great, very spacious. They do have a complimentary breakfast that is quite tasty. Would stay here again without any doubt in my mind.

In a nutshell, this hotel was terrible. Horrible customer service and paper-​thin walls. I would not recommend to anyone.
We made the reservation the same morning, navigating their website past the «King only bed» rooms and selected a «Standard» room with two queen sized beds. After 9 hours of travel, we checked into the hotel only to find out that «Standard» apparently means «best available upon check-​in.» Now, whether this was hidden in some fine print on the website or not, there were three of us and we needed two beds. But the worker was extremely accusatory and defensive. He kept telling it was our fault and that there were no other rooms available and we couldn’t cancel because it was after 6pm. Thankfully, after arguing with the worker (and him being extremely disrespectful back), we were able to switch with another guest and get a two bed room. Then, we discovered how awful the rooms were. I must admit, they were very up-​to-​date and clean, but the walls were paper thin. We had to unplug the refrigerator because it wouldn’t stop making a rattling sound. There was a couple that burst into the hallway around 2am SCREAMING at each other… and that went on for 20 MINUTES! Eventually, security came to break up the domestic dispute but then the people staying in the room next to us started to hoot and holler in their room. We could hear them talking… they weren’t yelling… they were talking. We heard their entire conversation. Someone from the front desk finally came up and told them to «shut up» (exact words) but they started up again right after he left. We cancelled our second night and switched to another hotel.

Nice hotel & pet friendly excep… t the bathtub faucet was separated from the wall AND there were stains in the bathroom that a cleaning housekeper could have easily cleaned.

I will never stay at this hotel again because of the night desk clerk the evening of Saturday, April 27^th, 2013. After using my room key to enter the hotel at midnight, I went straight to my room to go to sleep and the key would not work. I went back downstairs to exchange a key with the desk clerk and was promptly educated on how flimsy cheap hotel keys (my words not hers) de-​magnetize when near cell phones and near other cards in wallets. I knew this was not the case but took it with a grain of salt. She gave me a new card and went back up to try again to no avail. After returning again, I got all kinds of attitude from the clerk implying with facial expressions and overall rude demeanor that I was doing something wrong. She even said «are you sure you have the right room»? She gave me two more keys and I went to try again … to no avail. Finally coming back downstairs a third time, she called the night security to come try to unlock it for me. He was very kind and apologized multiple times for my troubles — something the female night clerk never did. But when he tried the master key on the door — guess what — IT STILL WOULDN’T WORK!!! He radioed down for the female clerk to come up and try her method or with another key. Somehow she was able to get the door open (not with the keys she had given me) but then turned to glare at me as she walked away without saying a word. No apology, no explanation, no admission, and not even any simple words of acknowledgement. After staying in a clean hotel with good amenities it is a shame that my experience with this woman left a lasting negative impression. I see online that you have received other negative reviews about your service at this location and it shows. Get a more friendly, courteous staff and you just might have an all-​around decent hotel worth the nightly price to sta in a very poor city area.

Extremely clean rooms. The service from the night manager was top notch… he went out of his way to make sure my business stay was productive. Definitely a great place to stay in East Dallas.

I always stay at HIE and this one was actually VERY nice. Super clean and more of a chic vibe. The only downside is that you can hear people in the hallway easily, but for a one night stay this is PERFECT. Definitely recommend if you’re passing through Dallas.

Phenomenal service! We came over from our crappy, disgusting room at La Quinta! And I was dumbfounded at how friendly, how nice and how clean everything was! we got a basic room and it had a fold out bed for my niece, two full beds and a kitchenette! A kitchenette! I’ll always stay here when I come to Dallas.
