There’s nothing that has beaten hopdoddy’s and I’ve been to A LOT of burger joints. A burger alone will fill me but definitely try their truffle fries if you’ve never had them! And if you ever need a drink, their margaritas are amazing but be careful, one of those drinks will hit you before the night ends.

Smells delicious, tastes even better. I think hopdoddy’s takes burger places to a new level. Servers are very friendly and attentive. Setting is young, a bit loud, a fun place to watch a sports game. Burgers have a perfect combination of ingredients, from the cut of beef to the amount of lettuce, cheese and sassy sauce(make sure you try it). The non-burger options are great too. Try the milkshake too. And the Caesar salad; it’s a unique take on the classic with something like shoestring fries and fried chickpeas. I know they also have some veggie options. Prices are reasonable for a gourmet burger. $ 6.25 to $ 12 from their menu. Burgers aren’t too big so I’d advise you to order the Parmesan truffle fries for the table. The guys we were eating with were still hungry after just a burger each.

I do love me some hopdotty, but this location falls short every time. They advertise happy hour from 4 – 7 M-F on their webpage & associated pages. Went in on a friday at 6 for happy hour only to be told that it’s actually Monday — Thursday. Then, went in on a Thursday at 6:10 for happy hour only to be told it ended at 6, not 7 on monday — thursday. What the heck?! So to clarify — happy hour is MON — THUR; 4−6pm. We still decided to eat, and the server was less than apologetic or understanding — all he did was ask where we saw the advertisement, and I told him on the website and showed him as well. They didn’t offer to honor it, which I felt was bad customer service. In addition, ¾ orders had gotten screwed up after this whole debacle. Perhaps it was an off night, but the repeat issue with happy hour really irk’d me. I will say the burgers are good as well as the milkshakes, but it’s not worth the sub-par customer service. Nothing really stands out in terms of menu options either. I do recommend trying it if you’re near one, but I personally won’t return often.

This is a great place for a beer and a burger. Came in here on Friday night around 8 pm and the place was packed. Sat at the bar and ordered the Dos Equis Michelada. Tasty and they don’t use the tomato juice which was delicious. I had the«GREEK» burger which had lamb and feta. Very tasty! The burger was served medium rare which was perfect. I wanted a second one after I was done. TIP– Ask for the truffle garlic aoili for your french fries.

What an amazing burger joint! They have pretty much everything and their burgers are made super juicy and plump! Come right when they open or right after the rush if you don’t want to wait in line. With an outside patio area and inside seating for 2 or a group, you sure will be licking your fingers at every bite!!! Burgers range from 6 bucks and up! Gotta try the different sauces they have to dip your burgers and fries in! I love the BBQ Sauce!!! Their fries are awesome! You can get these to split as an appetizer! Also they have burgers of the day and a great drink menu! The atmosphere he is really lively! This place is also is know for their milk shakes!!! Their milk shakes bring all the boy to the yard!!! Lol!!! Just kidding!!! Enjoy my friends!

We have come here a few times since moving to Dallas and haven’t found our experiences as pleasing. My sister and I wanted to take a friend in yesterday since he is visiting Dallas for the first time. She googled their happy hour and the first page to show up said it was from 4 – 7. We went in at 6:30pm and were informed that it ended at 6pm. That was a bit disappointing. It is not the first time that we have read different times, details etc. for their happy hour. We proceeded to order and two of our three orders came out incorrectly. Mine came out with cheese and bacon when I had specifically asked for no cheese. The server said he even wrote«no cheese». My sister ordered a wheat bun and instead got the standard. Anyway, the food is still good, the service is friendly and overall it’s not bad. However, it’s definitely not my go-to anymore.

I came here with my sister visiting from Korea. She had the k-town belly and I had the primetime. She loved the ktown burger, but my primetime was just good. The patty was very big and thick, but I asked for it to be medium rare and came out kind of well done. Also it was a little on the salty side. But overall it was good.

While the food is still very good, the service at this location has declined in quality dramatically since opening. It’s sad, really — there’s a level of pretentiousness I’ve experienced the last several times I visited from some of the servers that is more than a little off-putting. You’re a hamburger joint, people — not some chi-chi wine bar. Be down-to-earth and friendly, because there’s always somewhere else to get a good burger.

Our waitress Rachel was amazing! Gave good recommendations and checked on us periodically. Also, she was very courteous in explaining how Hopdoddy worked. Tried the Primetime(in the plane. after 2.5hours) and it was still pretty good. It reminded me somewhat to Norcal’s Umami Burgers. We thought Hopdoddy was only available in Texas… turns out they have SoCal locations. Lol. Oh well. Still worth a try! P. S. the bison was good too!

The Magic Shroom burger was to die for. If a burger is served with goat cheese, it can’t not be good, right? Though I have a long list of others I want to try at Hopdoddy! My husband and I split the parmesan fries with garlic aioli, though I think I preferred the honey mustard sauce. I wasn’t expecting table service, which was a nice added bonus. We live pretty close to a Hopdoddy location… so I’m sure I’ll be trying other burgers soon!

Ambiance– cute. Didn’t expect table service but pretty cute and laid back. Price– pretty expensive. $ 5.50 for a milk shake. $ 6 for fries and $ 9 for a burger with no fries or a side. This is probably my only gripe that almost pulled it to a 3. Burgers we got were good. The Diablo was good and very spicy. I got whatever had the Brie, truffle aioli and steak sauce. Delicious well cooked and yummy after drinking a ton. :)

Oh, HopDoddy, I want so much to love you but you’re not making it easy for me at all! I know asking for a well-done burger is almost as blasphemous as ordering a steak that way but that’s how I like it; and if I can«have it [my] way» for a few bucks at Whataburger, y’all should definitely be able to deliver if you’re going to charge more than double their price for a burger. I’ve had to send back ALL Five of my burgers to be redone, except that one time I ordered the vegetarian bean burger. As you can see, I’m not opposed to changing my mind, so PLEASE, let me love you again by getting my order right next time.

Met a friend here for dinner on a Friday night. INCREDIBLE! The Parmesan truffle fries is worth every calorie! If you haven’t had truffle oil then please try theirs! I ordered the bison burger – a little different than beef. I loved it. The party was moist and flavorful. The hot sauce gave it a nice kick. For my beverage choice, I choose the prickly pear martini. Great combination! Customer service was good. They were attentive and kind. The décor is nice I will definitely be back!

This was my first visit, I loved the décor and atmosphere right from the beginning, they also have outside seating and this is a very cute uptown location. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. EXCELLENTSERVICE I ordered the turkey burger and fries and love it, finished it all and was satisfied. i did try the Ginger lemonade on their menu and this now might be my favorite drink ever. I highly suggest you try it. Its like a spicy lemonade. The cost was good and fair, about 10. a burger and 3 a drink! I would for sure come back here and try more of their menu!

Hopdodddddyyyyyyyyyy. HOPDODDDDDY!!! That is exactly how I say Hopdoddy every time someone mentions it because I love it THAT much. The only negative thing I can ever say about Hopdoddy’s is that the line gets crazy long. But I had a weird stroke of luck and went to this Hopdoddy on a Saturday morning(the day of some big college football games) and there was no line. It was the most glorious moment of my life. There is always plenty of seating in all of the Hopdoddy’s establishments, although it can get a bit crowded and tight on a busy day. The staff are always super efficient; they may not be the friendliest bunch because of how hectic it gets, but they never forget. As for the food, I can rave and rave and rave with no rant about how wonderful it is. To date, i still haven’t had a better burger. These are by far my favorite burgers in life. I really love the Primetime specifically because it has my favorite burger vegetable and cheese and topping aka: arugula, brie, mushrooms. It is perfection in every bite, and the buns are always so fluffy and good. I also LOVELOVELOVE their nutella pretzel milkshake. It’s diabetes in a cup, but I can never resist getting it. The contrast of sweet with a hint of salty and crunchy just gets me every time. Of course, they also have the most amazing fries. They’re like McDonald’s fries but raised to the 100th power. I can safely say that I have now been to almost all of the Hopdoddy’s locations in Austin and Dallas(and soon there will be ones in SA and Houston!) and the nice thing is that the quality of food and the taste is universal in each branch. It’s really rare to find that in a small chain, so yes! Don’t worry ever about missing Hopdoddy’s when you move to a different big TX city.

This was my favorite go-to burger joint in Dallas… until they shrank the bun! WTH?! Y!!! Central Market’s favorite motto comes to mind: «Why fix dinner if it isn’t broken?» The ambiance is great: casual, friendly dining. They have a full bar & some tvs to watch your favorite sports game. They have regular tables & hi tops & hi top booths. The food is fresh, natural, & some organic. The meats have an awesome freshly grilled flavor with the right amount of spice. Their buns are made in house &USED to be normal size. Now they shrank the bun«to make the meat look bigger». Yea right! Any half wit knows that it costs less to make a smaller bun & since the clientele usually consists of the more educated type – they won’t be fooling anyone. They are just going to anger the regulars like me & not impress the newbies. I’ve always bounced back & forth between here & Grub Burger Bar(it’s twin sister) but Hopdoddy has always been my favorite. I drive right past Grub, 15 minutes further down the road just to enjoy my Diablo or Llano Poblano or Thunderbird but now it looks like my trek will now only be 5 minutes down the road to Grub Burger Bar where the buns are adult-sized & not McD’s kids meal size… what’s next for Hopdoddy… shrinking the meat to fit the bun?! They better shrink that high price if that’s the case. I bid you adieu…

Hopdoddy Burger Bar in Uptown is the latest gourmet burger restaurant that focuses on craft beers, shakes, fries, and of course burgers. You’ll find Hopdoddy in Dallas(NW Hwy) and Addison, but this review is for their Uptown location. My Overall Rating — 3 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Like the Addison location, this Hopdoddy is a newer, but smaller than the original. It’s still casual and there is dedicated seating outside. It is not nearly as big as the Addison location, but it retrains the same system of waiting in line to order until a table is ready still exists. While this eliminates table vultures and guarantees a seat once you order, you may find yourself standing in a long line that doesn’t move. ½ Star. Service — I used to think the seating system was inventive, but nowadays I wonder why Hopdoddy shouldn’t just be a full service restaurant, because sometimes it is. On our last visit, it wasn’t too busy so a staff member grabbed us a table & took our drink and appetizer order. We also proceeded into the line to order. The result? We ended up duplicating our order. Lesson learned(although I wish they would have clarified). Bottom line still great service just be aware of different options. 1 Star. Food — First things first, the craft burgers are big… and pricy. I’ve had the Primetime(super tender meat), the Terlingua(Chili), Classic, Shroom and Ahi Tuna. You won’t be disappointed in your order, but the last time I ordered I had the Ahi Tuna — and it wasn’t quite the same as I remembered. Instead of being a whole cut of Ahi, it was«ground» or formed pieces into a patty. It’s still seared, but texture wise doesn’t seem right. Also, their salads are served on a tray — which honestly I’d rather have it in a bowl. I know, my bad for ordering a salad at a burger bar but if it’s on the menu it’s fair game. Shakes are creative and quality(Nutella = yum). But all this comes at a price, as this is not a cheap place. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Probably. Dallas has so many great burger options. Hopdoddy is a good one, but I think I’d rather hit the Addison location for its size or the one off NW Hwy for its proximity. No matter, I know I can get a quality, big burger and tasty shake at any location. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.
