Got a toenail fungus from one shade of color they used. I know it was from that because I had two nails painted with that color and THOSE are the only toes that had the fungus problem.

Go here all the time. Great place. They do a great job AND they just got all new chairs. Open 7 days a week. Very accommodating. Try them out!

I would much rather pay a little bit more and not worry about getting an infection when getting my manicure. A co-worker and I stopped in for manicures while on our lunch break. We didn’t have time to drive somewhere else so we thought we’d try this place. If I had been alone I would have walked out. When the visible part of an establishment is this dirty and disorganized, I’d hate to see what the back looks like. I highly doubt the nail tech’s tools were actually sterilized. My manicure was good, and a couple days later is holding up nicely. But she cut me four times while cutting my cuticles, and made a statement that it was my fault because my cuticles were in such bad shape. I don’t get manicures on a regular basis so, yeah, my cuticles were in rough shape, but that’s what I pay a nail tech for! Three days later and one finger is still tender from where she cut me. My coworker was seated after me and had gel polish that needed to be removed, and was still done almost ten minutes before me, so I think a lot depends on which girl does your nails. Gel mani was $ 30, which just isn’t worth it when you feel like there’s a 50⁄50 chance of getting an infection. I’m not a big risk taker, what can I say?

I have been a customer here for about 15 years. The service is far more hit than miss, and I am usually very happy. I would suggest to some of the other reviewers that they give Hot Nails a second chance, perhaps request a different tech. I wandered in on Easter afternoon(being Jewish, I didn’t realize that it was a holiday). Van and her husband were doing some remodeling, but they stopped to give me a great mani/pedi. Gotta love that kind of customer service!

Pedicure sucks. See photo! I expect it to last at least one week, and they usually last for two! Day 2 — 4th toe rubbed off. Went back. They repainted it. Day 3 — large chip 2nd toe(see photo) Day 4 — 3rd toe rubbed off. I’ve never had paint rub off my toes before! Day 5 — big toe, huge chip. Pedicurist cut my cuticle during pedi. Good way to get staph. NEVER going back.

I am back at Hot Nails. Wendy is taking great care of everything. I have a ginormous interview tomorrow. She gave me a wonderful, hot, pedicure with a long foot massage and putting accupressure on my stressed soles. For nails, full set was flawless. For work, I have to wear a conservative shade like beige or nude or light pink. She did my tips just wide enough, and just oval enough that I can still type like a boss and have just-right nails for any interview. I also got my eyebrows waxed. Again, perfect and all the strays gone. I just build my eyebrow out with some powder and a creamy liner and feather for the day. All for $ 50. The place was quiet and I was anxious about my interview and she turned the sound off the tv and put on some cool Vietnamese romance music. Very cool. Thank you, Wendy!!! Love you!

I have been going to Hot Nails for years. It is not a fancy salon, but I am always greeted by name and receive a good manicure and pedicure. I am very picky about nail salons and the quality of their service and Hot Nails always does a good job. I have seen about every technician in there and have no complaints. I would say I wish that they would get more of a selection of nail colors. They do not have very many exciting colors, but what they do have, does the job. The manager of the salon is a very nice woman who always makes sure that I am happy with my service.

I’ve been going to Hot Nails Too since August 2011, Kim consistently does a great job whether it’s a mani with acrylics or a special design I choose or a simple polish. I highly recommend this salon. My nails stay looking nice longer than when I went to full service salons.

When it comes to nail service, I don’t really care much about the frills, but I do expect a job well done. For the care and attention my nails and hands received at this salon, it should have cost me three times as much money! I forgot to ask the name of the girl, but she worked painstakingly on every detail of my CND Shellac manicure. My nails have never looked so perfect. Will return again and again and again.

Not sure why the bad reviews. I used to live near this salon 10 years ago and used it weekly under different ownership. I loved it then and still love it now. I live in the Uptown area of Dallas and it’s been difficult to find a salon that does a consistently good job. Plus the Uptown area is way pricier. Every time I go to Hot Nails they do a stellar job on my cuticles and paint job. It’s clean, they’re sweet, my nails look fabulous and it’s very reasonably priced. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure yesterday. I’m very pleased!

Dallas has so many great, cheap nail salons. .. this ain’t one of them. When I first walked in, I was a little worried. It reeks of incense and they have a flowerpot with swastikas going around it. Uh oh. But my friend refuses to let anyone but one of the techs here, Van, do her nails, so okay. I let them do my pink and white acrylics one time and they ground down my natural nail where the white was supposed to go, rather than use a tool to scrape off the excess and create a half moon shape. When I had them redone, they had to cut all that shit off. They are also rude… they ask questions like, «How long have you been married… So when are you gonna have a baby? Oh maybe in year?» and even questioned my friend at length about her weight!!! The second time I was there, she asked for her nails a bit longer, so to spite her, Van made them way too long. I think that’s no way to treat a loyal longtime customer! I would never recommend this salon to anyone!

I don’t recommend this place at all. My mom got her eyebrows waxed here and they took off half of her left eyebrow. And… she had a burn from the wax. The original owners sold the place a while back and it has really gone down since then. It might look a bit nice but it’s not worth the money or time. They have messed up on my nails many times. I’m convinced that some of those people have absolutely no idea what to do with nails. One guy got a nail file and tried buffing my nails with it! They don’t have basic knowledge on their own tools. Be careful.
