Ask for Ericka Ransom… she is amazing. I had just moved to Dallas and I was lucky enough to have lived in the same building as the salon. I was very nervous to try a new stylist as I had been with my previous stylist for YEARS. I walked away from Ericka feeling like I had a whole new outlook on life. I swear that not only did Ericka help me look and feel better but because of the new me… everything in my life seemed to have a better outlook. Thanks Jamieson Jewel for hiring high quality people who can not only cut hair — but are color specialists — and people specialists. You rock.

I’m obsessed with Jamieson & Jewel salon! Most fabulous salon in Dallas — HANDS DOWN! Extraordinary & personable service! I frequent the salon for color, extensions, blowouts, makeup & sometimes just to stop by for a cocktail to be around the amazing energy! David, Aaron, Chase, Jessica, Erica… All sweet & amazing at what they do!

Oh my Gosh! What a wonderful experience! I just received the best cut and color from David. I’ve been dealing with the same hair for the last twenty years, same color, same style. I had a consult with David who told me that he could really pop up the color and the cut. I figured might as well as it’s just hair and will grow back. When I got done, the color was awesome, the cut great! I don’t know why I waited so long. Also, with their dry bar, I can keep it styled as it is far at all from my office. Thank you, David, Aaron, and Jordan (for my awesome blow out on Saturday)! You will be seeing me soon!

So I saw they had a Groupon for a blow out for $ 20 and the reviews on Unilocal seemed to be good, so i decided to try it out.
When I checked in the guy at the front desk was really nice and asked me if i wanted a drink and immediately showed me to a chair. I waited a few minutes and then the stylist came over to me. This is where it went downhill. The stylist never introduced himself to me, never asked me my name and did not offer me a smock.
First the stylist asked what I wanted to do and then took me over to the sink.
During the hair washing process, I could immediately smell cigarette smoke on my stylist, which was really unpleasant. Like I said, I was never even offered a smock and got water splashed on me, which is not that big of a deal but it would have been nice.
Once he started blow drying my hair, he was burning my scalp and ear with the dryer. I was even kind of moving my head away because it hurt, but he didn’t apologize or even say one word to me! Also, it felt like he was rushing through the blow dry and was in a hurry to be done. I wanted to be done as well, but I wanted a decent blow dry if anything. Once he was done, he finally spoke a word and said «take a look,» which my hair barely had any body to it, but I just wanted to get the heck out of there and said it looked good.
Once it was time to pay, a different guy came up to the front desk and asked me how it was. I wanted to say it was awful but I just said good and left. I also didn’t want to tip, but the stylist was standing nearby and I felt like I had to, so I did.
Overall, a waste of money, gas and a decent blow out. A few hours later, you wouldn’t have been able to tell that my hair was just blown out. I should have known better and stuck with a place I had been to before. I guess that’s what happens when you use Groupon at a place you are unfamiliar with.

I just moved to Dallas part time and found this salon on the Internet. Angel booked my appointment same day I requested to get in for a Blow Dry. I walked into the Salon located under High Line apartments near Design District. I was greeted and offered a cocktail! I was already in with the place and vibe. Jordan «hottie» took me back to consult and wash my hair. He is absolutely Amazing and personable, I left the salon so happy my hair was smooth and had just enough curl!!! I have been to Drybar, Eleven salon etc and I have always went home and fixed or touched up my hair. This time I didn’t need to fix anything! I booked my best friend and I appointments for the following week.
This place is the BEST!!! I am telling all my co workers at National laser Institute about this place.

Have you ever made an appointment at a new salon (which already makes you nervous) then you walk in and the place is gorgeous and fancy and you feel like «uh oh I’m intimidated and not going to be comfortable here»? Well that’s exactly how I felt for about the first TEN seconds.
After that, everyone I came in contact with at Jamieson Jewel Salon made me feel as if I were part of the salon family. It was a Saturday morning and I was feeling the effects of Friday night. I was put in a chair with a pick-​me up beverage, greeted by everyone who walked by as I sat for my cut and color with Jeffrey King.
I wear my hair very short, so the cut is super important. I also have different textures of hair (it’s a mess) and have grey to color, plus I went in with a color way too dark on me. Jeffrey talked to me and within seconds I just said «do what you think best, I trust you» and I could not be happier with the results.
The color he did was perfect and the cut was amazing! He spent a long time on the cut (in a great way that I appreciated). He really takes the time to get to know your hair, analyze how it lays, dries, parts, etc. to make sure that he cuts it in the best way for YOU. I absolutely love it.
It was like getting a cut and color from someone I had been going to for years rather than the first time he did my hair. It is growing out wonderfully, color and cut, and I am about to call and make my next appointment with him.
The salon itself is super pretty and fancy (don’t get me started on the fabulous restrooms — they are dazzling — literally. And instead of my experience with these level of nice salons in the past (and I have been to many), the people at Jamieson Jewel Salon all treated me like an old friend.
I highly recommend the salon and most of all I highly recommend that you make your next hair appointment with Jeffrey King. I walked out feeling so sassy and pretty and happy. If you want a great cut and/​or color, and want to feel sassy and pretty and happy, then go see Jeffrey King at Jamieson Jewel Salon!

Makes me wish I lived in Dallas!
Got my hair cut and highlighted here when I was visiting family in Dallas. I had a bad haircut back in February that I have been growing out and really needed it fixed. Salon owner David did an amazing job on my hair– the cut and highlights are awesome and I have received so many compliments. He listened to what I wanted and also made suggestions to me as to what would look best with my hair texture and face shape. Best haircut I have had in years! Makes me wish I didn’t live in podunk North Carolina where there is a serious lack of quality salons and stylists…
Other positives:
Location: can’t say much being from out of town but seemed easy enough to get to. Design district was cool
Space: clean, modern, sunny
Drinks: loved the custom bar, but I was dehydrated from flying so I had chilled lemon water. They also had chilled cucumber water. The signature drinks looked delicious though!
Staff: friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable
Parking: was not an issue
Other: shampoo and blow dry were great! Also highly recommend the deli next door– they brought me a vegetarian wrap to eat while my hair color processed! Yum!
Oh and the infrared (I think?) dryers were so cool — have not seen these before!
All in all, a «jewel» in the design district!
Again, wish I lived in Dallas– Highly recommend!

Worst salon experience ever. I scheduled my appointment online and received two confirmation emails. I show up for my appointment and the salon is somewhat empty but it is like 8:45 so that wasn’t a big deal. Somehow the stylist I was scheduled with no longer does blowouts yet they failed to schedule someone else for me or call and notify me. Instead the receptionist, Aaron, is left to mess with me and manage the phones. Aaron was super nice and he did try. Unfortunately, I was getting my hair done for a birthday party and obviously wanted it to look nice. They have a book with looks for blowouts. I chose the big, curly one. Problem was my hair ended up just being straight and messy. And it took over two hours. At that point I just wanted to get out of the salon and cry. I ended up having to find a last minute place to style my hair and save the day.

I normally do not give 5 stars out, but anyone that can get my BANGS under control deserve a million.
I have had a few bad experiences in the past at other popular salons and was hesitant to start over at another one. I have basically started cutting my own.
My experience at Jamieson was very good. I work down in the Design District and decided to walk in right after work. They were very polite and got me in quickly. The owner David was very nice and offered me a cocktail, and it was a GOOD one too. The energy is positive with a clean environment.
For the record, I feel really bad about whoever does my hair because I am so darn picky. I have drama hair. Erica was up for the challenge. First I will say I had one of the BEST wash I probably have ever had in my entire life. Not kidding. I could totally be addicted getting my hair blown out there just for that reason.
Anyways, that girl knew what to do and got the job done right. The end result was FABULOUS hair with amazing bangs. I even called the salon 3 days later to tell them I got 5 compliments in one day, AND then booked another blow out:)
So I am writing this review and hope she doesn’t get TOO TOO busy that she can’t fit me in to do my bangs.
I also was checking out other clients hair and they were walking out with great hair too. Anyone that you get at this Salon will do your hair right.
Just give it a try.
Then afterwards you can walk next door and get one of the BEST panini sandwiches from Alex. I’m a picky eater too and I scarfed that thing down quick.

Complimentary cocktail from a full bar while David gave me an amazing haircut. What more could a girl want? I came after going somewhere they messed my cut up and they did an amazing job of fixing it and making it look beautiful again.

Everything about my experience at JJS was perfect. I was able to book my appointment online, which was so easy. The receptionist who greeted me was warm and welcoming. They have a full bar and immediately offered me a drink (which btw was delicious). The salon was beautiful and immaculate. David and Ryan provided amazing service with color and a blow out. Ryan was meticulous and took the time to thoroughly apply my color. My blow out was just as good. I felt like David and Ryan really listened to what I wanted and made sure I was satisfied. My blowout even looked amazing the following day. Start to finish, everything was 5 star. I will definitely be back!

Re-​do…
So, after I posted my first review of JJS, I was immediately contacted by two folks from the salon. I believe the owner or manager contacted me first via email and apologized for the minor issues I encountered; then another representative of the salon followed that email up with an actual phone call (an actual phone call!!) to again apologize and ask me to give them another try… boy am I glad I did.
My follow up appointment was with Erica. Erica is awesome– she’s a great stylist, plus she’s very likable and inquisitive. Erica definitely wanted to know what I was looking for and what I needed in a stylist/​hair care. And of course, she’s easy to talk to.
My hair looked great, everyone was super nice, I was in and out… I have absolutely no complaints and I will be returning to see Erica. Awesome service!

I absolutely love Jamieson Jewel and Erica Ransom my amazing stylist!!! My hair has always been a thick frizzy mess but with her expertise I have smooth hair for once in my life!
Had a Keratin treatment, color and cut and could not be more thrilled!!! Definitely worth every penny!!! My hair drys in half the time now. A real plus in the summer months!
I love the new Salon with state of the art dryers and the best part is that they have a bar and in the salon!!! When your hair is processing you sit at the bar and are offered a complimentary drink menu of signature drinks. Try the Jamieson Jewel… very yummy!

I see Sheralee at Jamieson Jewel salon. I followed her from Johnny Rodriguez, and will follow her wherever she goes as she is one of the best color technians and cutting specialist I have worked with. Coming from a long stint in London and being a fashion makeup artist, I am hyper aware when it comes to cut and color.
Sheralee gave me her blonde vision and went beyond my expectations. Moreover, she cut a ton off my dry, lifeless locks without makeing me feel like I had been shorn bald.
I walked away with a bag full of Kevin Murphy products to keep my beach style at home. Needless to say, I am a happy client and sitting in the coo, lcomfortable surroundings of Jamieson Jewel is an experience I will be going back for again. I will see Sheralee anywhere in Dallas and I am delighted she is at such a gem of salon.

Jamieson Jewel is a new salon, yes, but the owner, David, has been in the Dallas salon business for a long time.
I’ve been going to get my hair cut by him for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. In fact, I’ve been nothing but amazed.
The new salon is very modern, has some of the best talent in Dallas and features a fantastic bar (all signature drinks).
I’m in a minority being a guy who goes to the salon, but after 10 years of talking to David’s clients and being there since the new salon opened, I can say that anyone, especially the ladies, will love this place.

Awesome salon. Best haircut and blow dry by Christian. They have an awesome blow dry bar complete with cocktails. I intend to be back and also bring my girlfriends!
