I was caught hungry in the midst of running errands and saw a huge Subway sign. I pulled into the parking lot for what I hoped would be a satisfying sandwich. But then I saw a sign in the neighboring restaurant — Gyros for… that’s all I needed to know. Gyros. Yum. I walked in and an elderly man, came out from the kitchen with a huge smile and endearingly accented English. He took my order with so much care. As I waited for him to prepare my gyro I walked around the restaurant to see newspaper articles hanging on the wall from the 1980s of his previous restaurants. When he came back with my food, we chatted for a bit. He told me that he’s served a bunch of NBA player — Steve Nash, Shaq… he said that lunchtime has a full buffet and it’s a very popular place. I would totally recommend this place! And I can’t wait to go back!
