This place is adorable. It definitely places you in Germany, rather than Dallas proper. The food was great… with amazing potato pancakes /apple sauce. The little grocery store is also full of fun finds.

Ever since I’ve eaten German sausages at my German friends house I have been on the hunt to taste the deliciousness I tasted that day, and I have finally found my treasure. Kuby’s is a combined grocery market and restaurant that has fantastic food. I’ve ordered the sausages, their pork chops, and their potato pancakes and my oh my are they good to eat. Sausages: the sausages(which I’ve tried them all) are all really good. My favorite in particular is the jalapeño-cheddar sausage as well as the Polish sausage. They are also accompanied by sauerkraut and pickled cabbage which help to bite through the fattiness of the sausage. Pork chops: the pork chops are nice and juicy and have lots of flavor. They also come with this mustardy dip that helps to bring some intense flavor to the pork chops Potato pancakes: these are so good. I smeared tons of sour cream on them and when paired with the applesauce, they have great flavor. I also checked out the market, and bought a ton of sausages to eat later at home! Overall, really delicious food that doesn’t hurt the bank! (One thing to note, you seat yourselves when you enter the restaurant)

Cannot believe I drove my husband 45 minutes to surprise him for Father’s Day and they are closed. We saw car after car of disappointed customers turned away. Thanks for ruining our day.

The breakfast was great. I had the sausage and egg biscuit with gravy and it was delicious. The service was also great. Only thing I would recommend is to update the place. It was definitely a bit dreary and old looking.

I like that Kasseler Rippechen(pork chop with kraut and potatoes) meal! Smokin good. Simple, tasty and very affordable… Just like all the great food in Germany. Very casual«diner» type atmosphere. Nice staff and it’s pleasant in the afternoons when they have an accordion player playing authentic German folk tunes very quietly in the corner. Highly recommended!

Kuby’s offers inexpensive but delicious eats in a plaza known for posh shopping stores, highfalutin desserts, and terrible food. They have the best reuben sandwich I have ever had, and their chicken snitzel is pretty soild, too. The service can be a bit iffy on occasion, but the live music on Saturday nights is absolutely wonderful and makes a delcious meal even better. Kuby’s is a landmark and a fabulous eatery. Try the Pick salami from the deli; you won’t be disappointed.

The portions are huge and tasted spectacular. The customer service was amazing, the waitresses and cashiers were incredibly cheerful and helpful, and I have never had faster service. Also the double chocolate cake balls are inexpensive and taste like heaven.

Pancakes are cheap here but taste great and flavorful. Staff is fast and attentive. The ambiance is beautiful and the decors are charming. They don’t take reservation byt he way, never mind calling for delivery as well ’cause they don’t do that. Been here during lunch, and I think they are great during this kind of hour, I supposed. Repeat-yes

This place is huge, be prepared to wait a bit during peak hours. It’s just great! Wide selections. High prices. Great service. Even menus has great and wide selections. We were excited to try Kuby again. Convenient and reasonable.

GOOD, FASTANDCHEAP — you don’t have to pick any two. Kuby’s is an old school German restaurant. Not fancy. Not updated. Actually quite dated, and charming. Food is very good, big portions, and cheap. It arrived fast. We’ll return…

This is a cool place. They have a grocery store with all the German shopping you can need. Bratwurst galore. The restaurant was so nice. Very friendly waitress super sweet. Didn’t offer any help in picking items but we were ready. Had coffee. Good hot and strong quick to refill. Menu was small which is a great thing. People go crazy with the 20 page menus. So over it. I ordered smothered pork chops with grits and potato pancakes, and eggs over medium. Pork chops takes like ham not pork chops at all. Even pink like ham. Definitely was not a smothered pork chop very bland. But it did its job I was full and fed. Potato pancakes were really just hash browns. But they were tasty also. Served with applesauce and sour cream. Didn’t seem too genuine German style. My husband had the sausage plate. He picked three sausages. He like them all. It came with sour kraut, potato salad definitely German style, and picked red cabbage. They had a to die for brown mustard. Spicy and fresh.

I did a surprise dinner here for my husband and I. He enjoyed his jäger schnitzel and I got Polska sausage and smoked sausage, they were really good. I was not fan of potatoes or sour craut, I usually like both, but not the way it was made here… Beer was good too, it felt quite authentic and accordion music definitely makes it more authentic

I love Germany. I love the honesty and dedication of German people. On top of that, I love German food and German beer. So yes, by default, I like Kuby’s. In particular, the wiener in the deli is the best in DFW. Snappy skin… check. Mild seasoning… check. Reasonable price… check. Enough said. The next time I drive that way, I’m bringing a cooler and picking up $ 50 in wiener sausages. I highly recommend Kuby’s.

I tried different sausages and found nothing special except for the weisswurst. It is very hard to find good weisswurst in this country, and we are lucky to have this place in Dallas. Their potato pancake is also quite good.

Kuby’s is a cozy restaurant attached to a deli & specialty shop in University Park. The restaurant’s atmosphere is nice because it’s cozy, has an authentic feel to it, and dimly lit; it’s clean and great for a dinner date or family night out. It never gets too loud. The service is a hit or miss. Most of the time the servers seem impatient. The food at Kuby’s is OK; some of it is very good — like the potato salad and the schnitzel — but some of it is not bad, but honestly, not authentic. I’ve been to Germany several times and my fiancé is from Germany and has also eaten at Kuby’s and while the food is again OK, it’s not 100% authentic and not always very good. It’s close to German food, but not there yet. Also, the ratio of cabbage and potato salad to the actual main course of the meal is way off — so, so, so much cabbage! We go to Kuby’s when we visit my cousin and her family so I’m sure we’ll be back — and that’s not a disappointment — but anyone who has eaten actual authentic German food should know it’s not what you get in Germany.

I came here on a Sunday 30 minutes before they were closing. Although their hours state 3PM, the restaurant closes at 2. They were kind enough to allow us to order, even though I could tell they wished we were non existent. The menu was limited since it was their «Brunch» menu, or I ordered the wiener schnitzel plate. The sausage I had were good, but nothing special. They were quite mild in flavor(true to the european taste of course). The sauerkraut was a little sweet for my taste(although my friend thought it was fine). The potato pancakes on the other hand were to absolutely die for! Easiest the best potato pancakes Ive had(not sure if that means much, since I havent really tried too many potato pancakes in general, but I know what I like). The texture, flavor, and grease factor were all excellent. The sour cream and homemade apple sauce they give you made the pancakes even better!!! I could have eaten 30 of those potato pancakes if I didnt worry about the strain on my heart and wallet. Price wise, it was shocking that nothing I ordered went over 10 dollars! Im eager to try their schnitzel during the rest of the week, but I will guarantee you I will be ordering more of those potato pancakes. In the meantime, I wasnt really impressed with the rest of the meal.

You must have the jalapeño cheddar sausage. While not as good as the venison variety at the Kuby’s wild game processing store it is even still amazing. Too bad it is illegal to sell wild game at restaurants because that is easily the best sausage I have had before. There’s a German meat market that I will return for as well: very high quality. They pay a lot of attention to tradition here and it’s a true European delight that’s on my list of favorites in Dallas. It has been around a long time for a reason, so try it.

A friend told me about Kuby’s and it sounded like my kind of place. So my wife and I stopped in for lunch. It was crowded, in a good way, and we sat at the counter. Our service was very good. I had the bratwurst plate and it was wonderful. It was so large I brought half of it home in a box. My wife’s pastrami sandwich was also a winner. After lunch we checked out the deli and meat market. It looks wonderful. I will certainly be back soon to pick up some pork chops for the BBQ!

cute spot tucked away in a suburbia plaza! Looks like cute little cottage but inside, theres a market and the restaurant! always check the hours! You get the texan hospitality from the staff. We ordered all the sausages available minus the polish since they made it look so good on MvF. We also got the potato pancakes and one slab of regular pancake for me. Two people with all this food… the waitress had wonder on how we were going to finish… i didnt blame her. The pancake — its more dense than fluffy but still good… they must use a home based(i mean local based) flour because it does taste a bit different than other pancakes i have… not too big of a difference. The sausages… there were so many we couldnt tell which was which, but they were okay… not that amazing. Some were good and some tasted like a hot dog. The potato pancakes… AMAZING! yea it resembles and taste like a hashbrown but whatever… so good! So crispy and hot on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside… its a sin… mix it with the sour cream and apple sauce… to die for… i think this was what save it from a 3 star. We did pretty much finish everything… dont underestimate my eating power!

Kuby’s is my favorite establishment in Snider Plaza. And friends, that’s saying a LOT. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that Kuby’s was part of the reason I moved to this neighborhood. «Came for the Kuby’s, stayed for the plaza.»(Hear that screeching noise? That’s the sound of my diet jump out the window. This could get messy.) And Kuby’s IS an ESTABLISHMENT, so much so as to become more of a landmark and staple of Snider Plaza. If you pick up a map of Snider Plaza, numbers will label every other store in the plaza, with the exception of Kuby’s, which is labelled with a little Kuby’s icon. I suppose that’s what being around since 1961 will do for you! My undying love for Kuby’s is multifaceted. I’ve never been to Germany, but my parents go fairly often. They tell me that the ambiance and feel of the place is quite authentic. That brings me to the food. The food is FANTASTIC. I’ve never had a bad meal here. I can’t really say that there’s one particular thing on the menu that is a standout – it is all so good. I first went to Kuby’s for lunch, which is excellent. However, after moving to the neighborhood, I quickly learned that their Breakfast is easily one of the best in Dallas, so I end up going here more for Breakfast, it seems. Here’s some of my favorites: –Light, fluffy, and flavorful – their pancakes are some of my absolute favorites.(People rave about Bubba’s pancakes, and I think these are better. Generally, I think that breakfast at Kuby’s is generally superior to Bubba’s.) –For a GIANT side dish with any other plate for breakfast, I recommend ordering a sausage link, which they’ll slice and grill for you. Specifically, I’m quite fond of the jalapeño cheese sausage links. Not too spicy, not too cheesy – just right. Those are INCREDIBLE. -«German Toast» is a German French Toast, which I didn’t realize is actually«a thing.»(At first, I thought Kuby’s was making it up! But further research shows that it appears elsewhere on the Internet.) German Toast is French Toast that is dipped in pancake batter. The result is a french toast that is more like a heavier pancake. I think there’s also some cinnamon in the German Toast as well. The result is delicious. –Their potato pancakes are to DIE for. They come with this delicious apple sauce and a sleeve of sour cream that you can put on the pancakes. I typically trade off between the two. –On the weekends at brunch, the crepes are awesome. You can choose to get them with apples, or nutty syrup.(It’s either pecans or walnuts in the syrups… I can’t remember.) If you can’t decide between one or the other, get ‘em both. They’ll do that for you. –The omelettes are made to order as well, and they do an excellent job with them. Try ordering them with one of their house-made sausages as an ingredient.(Again, try the jalapeño cheese sausage.) –They’ll sub in oatmeal for you as a side dish, and their oatmeal is really good! I get the oatmeal over the hash browns in efforts to be healthy. –It should be noted that the food is pretty darn cheap. Want a huge plate of pancakes for breakfast? Less than 6 bucks! Want a nice bratwurst plate for lunch? Less than 6 bucks! BAM! –For lunch, much of the time I get a wurst sampler, or a brat on a bun. Their sausage is definitely a highlight of the restaurant. –I’ve also had the wiener schnitzel before, and that’s been really good as well. I haven’t had the deli sandwiches yet, but others have ordered them sitting next to me on the counter. They do look awesome. –The market is amazing as well. And you can get some pretty awesome stuff here. This includes all kinds of deli meat, all kinds of mustards, sauces(of course, curry ketchup) I only have one complaint… and it’s less of a complaint and more of a request for something to be added to the menu. I don’t think they have jagerschnitzel. I would LOVE to have jagerschnitzel… I haven’t found a really good one in DFW yet. But Kuby’s is super awesome. Heck, even their little guy in their logo is awesome. If you get a soft drink, you also get a little souvenir plastic Kuby’s cup with their logos! Now, if I could just convince my wife to love German food as much as I do… If my metabolism wasn’t such a buzzkill, I’d probably eat here every day. Overall, though, Kuby’s is literally the foundation, heart, and soul of Snider Plaza. It isn’t to be missed! Edit: YES, it turns out, Kuby’s DOES have jagerschnitzel. However, it is only on the menu for dinner.(They’re only open on Friday and Saturday for dinner.) It can be ordered at lunch as well by ordering the schnitzel and asking for a side of jäger sauce.(I still wish it would be added to the menu at lunch, though.)

I can’t believe this place only has 170 reviews given its age, location, and reputation. I am told by my parents that I was coming to Kuby’s before I could walk. Naturally, I don’t remember this. And, since I’ve moved away from Dallas many years ago, I haven’t had occasion to go back until this past weekend. Very glad I did. Me and a buddy arrived at Kuby’s around 7:00 on a Friday night. It was lively, but not full. We got a booth in the back and were immediately greeted by a German server with bread and hard pretzels. We ordered some enormous beers, and had to get some sausages. She recommended the sliced sausage appetizer, which was around $ 6 and a great deal. It comes with 3 or 4 different types, sauerkraut, and cabbage. It was a great way to try a few but not fill up on sausages. For dinner, I went with my favorite German dish: jaeger schnitzel. This may have been my favorite, it was a perfectly fried piece of veal that was fork tender. The breading was crispy and seasoned well. The traditional mushroom gravy was thick, but not overly so. It was the perfect accompaniment to the meat, and it was also seasoned well. As I write this review, i am strongly considering the drive back to Dallas just to get this dish again… The dinners comes with warm German potato salad and more kraut/cabbage. The potato salad was excellent. The potatoes are cooked perfectly, and it has just the right amount of seasoning. I don’t typically like warm potato salads, and this is easily the best I’ve had. I think my meal was around $ 16. For the amount/quality of food, this is a great price. I’d gladly pay double, the schnitzel was that good. The restaurant side is older, but it’s still clean and comfortable. Service couldn’t be better. We were never waiting long for refills, our check, or our meal. I walked around the deli a bit, and it was also fantastic. I am jealous of Dallas citizens that have access to this fantastic selection of items. It has taken me many trips to Dallas to get back to Kuby’s, but I won’t make the mistake again. I’ll definitely return, and hopefully very soon.

A friend of mine would always have delicious jalapeño and cheddar sausage from Kuby’s served at his parties, and since then Kuby’s has been on my Dallas to-do list. In Dallas with my Persian mother to buy an engagement ring(her haggling skills are unmatched). I chose Kuby’s as our lunch destination. Walking in, the dining area is seat yourself and fairly small, so plan ahead. We came in at the end of the lunch rush, so it didn’t take long to get seated. Of. course, it has all those great German dishes, all types of sausage and schnitzel, that we all know and love. I went with the two sausage plate, 1 grilled brat and 1 weisswurst, and my mom ordered the chicken schnitzel. As much as I loved the sausage plate, I thought the schnitzel my mom ordered was the best I’ve ever had. Nice and thick, with a delicious and crispy breading, I am sure it is a favorite here. Along with the great food, the prices are also great: Most dishes are 7 – 8 bucks. Satisfied with our lunch, we went over to their market to see what they had. As you can expect, all sorts of German goods are available and I left with a pound of those great cheddar jalapeño sausages(the staff will aslo vacuum seal your selection if you ask). They have a great selection of meats and sausages to try, so I will. have to come back for the others. Good cheap food, awesome brats and sausages, and a German market to boot makes Kuby’s now one of my favorite places in Dallas.
