So it was late Saturday night, ok it was actually Sunday morning at around 2AM at this point and a fellow Unilocaler, a good friend of mine, and I had been celebrating my birthday. We hit Oak St., Vigne for some cigars and Mulberry St. Cantina and we ended up back at Oak St. It was time for some food. We got to the taco truck earlier in the night but we didn’t know what Lee Malone’s was… Darn good sliders, and fries to boot. Yes one might think that because after many beers and a rather good tequila shot one might not be too picky about the food choices we make but, these were some pretty good sliders. Vegetarians beware. These were all that and a bag of chips. Is that even said anymore? Anyways, a few different options for burgers and fresh cut fries. Mostly typical burgers with jalapenos or cheddar or bbq sauce. I got one that stood out. PBJB slider. Peanut butter, jelly, bacon. And yes. It f’n rocked! Didn’t know what to expect. But it worked! As for the fries? Seasoned perfectly and so crispy and were great with the slider. The sliders were a bit on the small side but the flavor was on point. No frozen meat. Grass fed. Is what we were told and you got the taste of the meat throughout the slider. I’m glad they take weekend trips up to Denton. These guys are based out of Dallas but it’s good they look for new clientele up here. Enjoy.
