Being an east coast native, I craved a good sub here in Texas. Until recently I found that most people I talked to just hit up a Subway(YUCK!). I was taking my son to my office on a weekend and he wanted McDondald’s for lunch… we had 5 mins to kill before my little man could get his much anticipated Happy Meal, so we went driving around. I spotted Lenny’s in a strip mall a few miles from my office… I was delighted at the possibilities. I took the first opportunity, the following week, to stop in. I was a little confused by the ordering process, seems they add an unnecessary extra step in the whole process, but whatever. I ordered the Italian was overjoyed to see the list of meats on the sandwich, not that crap they pass as an Italian at Subway! I loved that they cut the meat right before my eyes. Don’t even get me started on the hot pepper relish! Damn near the closest thing you can get here in Texas to «hots» you order on your sub at the sub shop on the corner in Massachusetts! They carry their own brand of chips, which I love. I have also tried the Steak and Cheese, which is pretty darn good. Its not quite as delicious as I used to get but dang close! My mom and sister, who are much more into the steak and cheese subs than I have ever been, both raved about it. Service is decent, usually the same group every time I go. Friendly enough.

Subs are delicious, fresh and far better than Subway. Also, if you want to be impressed by customer service this is your spot.

Went in starving, ended up stuffed. This shop looks, feels, smells like Jersey Mike’s…I’m stopping short of tastes because I feel like I can’t give it a fair comparison having eaten the cheese steak at Lennys, which I’ve never gone for at Mike’s… So, about this cheese steak… saw some good reviews and even got a first hand recommendation so I went for it. The verdict? Meh. It wasn’t bad but nothing I would ever crave. I actually got it in salad form, which turned out to be a good move because my boy was not in love with the bread… Mari 1, Carbs 0. The good news is they’re generous with the meat(yea, I said that) and they have their own branded pepper relish that is spicy and tasty… most of the non-Lenny’s branded condiments actually fall into that category, so if you’re expecting a selection of sprouts, spinach and avocado, you’ll soon realize you came to the wrong place. Overall…the shop is clean and well kept. Would I come back? Absolutely, but not for the cheese steak.

I’m addicted. I go here three times a week. It’s a tough call: Lenny’s vs Jersey Mike. My fave is the original with vinegar no mayo. The pepper relish is excellent. I like Jersey Mike’s pickles better but I think I might like Lenny’s bread overall. Both are pretty great sub sandwich shops. I even like Lenny’s Cheesesteak. Get it to go. After it softens up in the wrapper, much better than ordering it fresh at the store.

Okay, so the Philly cheese steak sucks donkey balls. Also, they don’t always ask you about the reward program either. Bishes, I’m a card carrying member(they can also look you up by phone number). The #1 is still where it’s at. Drool.

Deeeeeelicious! I keep saying I’m not a sub/sandwich person and I keep finding myself at sandwich shops. I’ve been passing Lenny’s regularly since Sept. and never stopped in. The boyfriend loves sandwiches and what not and when he suggested it, I couldn’t say no. I’m pretty dull and pretty much like Jimmy Johns and Jimmy Johns only, I don’t really do lunchmeat, it’s just not my thing. Sooooo with that all said we swung on in here on Sunday for an early lunch. Not sure what to pick, I went all out and went with the Italian and HOLYDELICIOUS. The hot pepper spread is f-ing ridiculous. I’m asking for extra of that next time for sure. YUM. The boyfriend had the philly and it was good. They’re overall not my cup of tea, but he liked it! Service was sooooooo nice and friendly and the place was clean, cute. Their sweet tea was perfect. I have to say, I liked the bread, it was lighter and not so filling. I love how thin the meat was sliced and have I mentioned the hot pepper spread? Yeah. I’ll be back. I’m not going to compare it to Jimmy Johns because they’re just different, it’s equally as good, it just depends on what kind of sandwiches you like. They’re good ol’ fashioned basic subs at Lenny’s and Jimmy Johns gets all fancy pants and what not with their sprouts and avocado spread. I’m not sure I’ll stray from the Italian as I prefer more cured meats to deli sliced turkey and such, but their meatball sub does look rather lovely… I’m sure I’ll be back sometime this week ;)

Sorry meant to post for the Akard location. but all the same food Working at Att right down the street. usually meant being hungry for good food. which doesnt exist where I was in downtown. Lennys was my go to place for a sub or hot philly cheese steak. really good stuff. footlong philly was about 9 $ but well worth it… large sandwhich. Love the spice powder. Great subs, turkey, chicken, roast beef. good menu. new location in plano as well.

So everytime I come, with the exception of one time(will explain later), the service was awesome. As soon as you walk in, they literally yell, «Welcome» at you. It’s quite entertaining… I come here ALLLL the way from Mesquite for the cheesesteaks because they are quite tasty! I frequented the one in my hometown often and am addicted now so I come twice a month or so. The only time I had a problem was when the manager(not really sure but by the way he bosses everyone around, I am guessing so…) took my order and never followed up on it. They do orders in the computer so maybe something glitched in the system and the kitchen didn’t get my order, but either way, the person that took my order never checked up on me. I was one of two customers in the whole restaurant and NOONE noticed that after 15 minutes I had no food, still. Why did I wait 15 minutes to let them know? Well, for one, I had absolutely nothing to be doing that day and I really wanted them to take the initiative and make things right with me. By the time 4 more customers came in and sat down, my mouth began to water at their sandwiches. I gave up and told the manager. He looked absolutely horrified that I had been waiting. Because their food is oh so good and they are normally always nice, I didn’t complain. I was hoping for that cookie that I had been eyeing… for free but a «sorry» had to suffice. Anyway, I will definitely be back. Actually, I’m thinking tomorrow sounds great! Try the clubs… or better yet, the cheesesteaks! They’re amazing! :)

I love Lennys and have been going to Lennys for about 7 years. When I moved to Dallas I was excited to find Lennys here. The Philly Cheese Steak is awesome. I’m so glad I have a small piece of one of my favorite food joints from back home in Dallas.

Wow. Just wow! These guys know how to make a sub. Unlike these other wuss girls that reviewed it(j/k!), I finished that sucker off like it was a kiddie meal. Maybe that’s because I hadn’t eaten all day… but whatever. I ordered a regular turkey with provolone, thinking it would be a regular sized sandwich. No ma’am. This was a mile-high meaty sammich meant to feed someone shopping at Big & Tall. Fresh saved turkey, perfectly portioned add-on’s, and delicioius hot pepper relish. I think I’m in love. The place is clean, well maintained and very friendly. The guys asked me several times if I needed anything, and shouted a big thanks as I walked out. Yay Lenny’s!

Consistently great quality of sub sandwiches. I agree with Brooke G. This is not a Subway. The meats and bread are certainly of higher quality. In looking at the«combo» price… it’s about 20 cents more than Subway but it’s value is much higher. Definitely give it a shot!

Lenny’s is a recent build over on Gaston(headed toward Baylor). In addition to Lenny’s you’ve got the brand new Divino’s location right next door. While I’m skeptical about the neighborhood, I have no such reservations for Lenny’s subs. The first time we walked in, I expected the experience to be much like that of heading into a Subway. I was dead wrong. Lenny’s bread, and the subs in general, have a different kind of kick that Subway lost a long time ago. Their freshly sliced meats and cheeses are thickly laid out on a soft, fresh bun, and piled high with all the fixins you could desire. J, working from home during the day, was in the habit of venturing to Lenny’s on a daily basis. Since the sammiches are HUGE, he would often leave half of his lunch for me to consume for dinner. His usual choice was the club, and man, if a sandwich is that good after sitting in the fridge all afternoon, just imagine what it’s like when it’s freshly made! If you live in the ‘hood, make sure you stop at Lenny’s at least once to try them out. You’ll be back!
