I’m a couple weeks late in writing this review. Sorry! I’m a Moscow Mule newbie, and I didn’t know they could be made with all kinds of different liquors! So I tried them with vodka and gin. Yum! Loved the fig and prosciutto paninis. Had to wait until we got a 2nd serving of those before we left. Loved them so much I attempted to make it myself the next week. I got close… However, the sliders were pretty normal. And the hummus was on the salty side. Disappointed we didn’t get to try a couple of other things we saw get passed out to the other tables. But we did leave with a couple of $ 10 coupons for next time and souvenir glasses! Thanks!

Heli puts on the most awesome events! Nickel and Rye’s been here some time, and I live right next door, but I’d never really come here since it seemed more of a day spot. Tried out the food mostly, along with some mixed Moscow mules… The burgers were pretty tasty, but the chicken quesadillas were the best with cilantro and a creamy chipotle(?) sauce. Also liked the hummus-laden snack bites, since they had a generous helping of hummus on each along with pepper on top which didn’t take away from the flavor. The drinks were made pretty well too, not just strong. The moscow mule really had that ginger flavor to it, both for the vodka and bourbon ones I tried. Also enjoy talking with Heli at the end about cooking! Got some good ideas, thanks!

Another *grrrrreat* event! Nickel and Rye were awesome hosts and so friendly I stayed over an hour after the event ended. The Red-Handed Bourbon was so damn good that I had it five different ways(Neat, Bourbon mule, Old fashioned, Boulevardier, and one I can’t remember). Tony, the bartender, meticulously made each cocktail and it was a treat to watch him work — the orange wedge in my drink flew six feet across the bar before being caught in the glass. He also doctors up his Moscow mules with dash of bitters which we all enjoyed. I’ve tried N&R’s food before at an event they catered and thought everything delicious. Definitely a notch above all their nearby competitors. One new dish I hadn’t tried before was the quail and fries which was gourmet spin on your typical buffalo wings. Many thanks to Nickel and Rye for hosting, Treaky Oak for providing the liquor, and Heli for organizing another stellar event.

Delicious food, great conversations with fellow Unilocalers. N&R is definitely the place to have happy hour and keep in mind that they have reverse happy hour as well! The only thing I was irked with was that we had to eat off of tiny cocktail napkins. Maybe I should have asked them to keep a whole plate of food on our table? LoL I shouldn’t complain because our lady server was awesome and always made sure we were good on drinks. Thanks Heli and N&R folks for hosting another great event! I will definitely be back for the delicious chicken quesadillas and hummus!

Last night’s event was ah-ma-zing! Nickel and Rye was a great venue and the staff was so incredibly attentive. As soon as we checked in at the desk with Heli, we were greeted by staff who brought us a round of Moscow mules. I may have tried a Moscow mule once in my life but that one was so fabulous that I had two. Later on I tried a peach-infused drink and it was so good that it made me forget that I hate all things peach flavored. Since the weather was so perfect, we headed out to the patio so we could be near the street and also around other Unilocalers as they trickled in. It was great seeing fellow Unilocalers and meeting new Unilocalers as well. The food I sampled was great… quail wings, fries, sliders, hummus, and chicken quesadillas. I did not get a chance to try the flatbread or paninis but everything else was just fabulous. Like Chris stated, Heli keeps outdoing herself with every event. This event was nothing short of fabulous and I definitely intend to return to Nickel and Rye.

It’s hard to not get a little angry reading the review and seeing all the food that never made it to our table on the patio. Sad face. ;) This was a GREAT event. Had so much fun. I stuck with the Treaty Oak vodka moscow mule. Then near the end the cute bow-tie bartender made the mule with a splash of bitters and a tiny mint leaf. Made the mule even better! I’m in love. The food I did get to sample was good. I definitely liked the chicken quesadilla. The servers, the guy refilling water glasses, the bartenders at Nickle and Rye were all AMAZING. Hats off, y’all. Thanks for having us! Thank you Heli for another great event!

Thanks Heli and Nickel and Rye for having us. I loved the ambience of this bar, and it was a fun event. The staff was extremely friendly, and the moscow mules just kept coming. They were serving sliders, quesadillas, paninis and flatbread. The panini and the flatbread were my favorite. It was nice to see fellow Unilocalers, and it was nice to meet new ones. I had great time!

What a fantastic event! Loved the location. We had so much fun. The moscow mule was fantastic. The sliders were so good but that flatbread was fantastic! The panini was really good with the fig jam. It was good to see to catch up with everyone and meet new peeps. Thank you Heli for a great event! Thank you Nickel and Rye for having us! All the employees were very attentive!
