This is NOT closed, I had a great pizza from David’s last week, I’m ordering another one tonight. They have very good thin-crust pizza, like I was used to when I lived in NYC.

We order two pies. Very cardboard tasting. The cheese was tasteless and overcooked. Very blan taste overall. The crust on one was burned. Frozen pizza from the supermarket would have been better

This Oak Cliff native recommends Oak Cliff Pizza due to their ability to deliver good quality food to your front door –even if you don’t live near the Arts district, or in Kessler. You can’t go wrong with the House Spaghetti Special for $ 10.95. You can eat on it more than once! Personally the hour wait isn’t a big deal in our household, because we have a set dinner time, so we know to order before we’re expecting to sit down to eat with the family. I’ve never eaten at the Davis St. location, having only utilized their delivery service, so I can’t rate how well their service is –but we’ve never encountered a problem in the last two years we’ve been ordering from this place! It’s a solid place to eat in Oak Cliff if you’re looking to stay home –but don’t feel like cooking… or dealing with the pesky crowds Bishop Arts attracts.

Well, the guy who took my order over the phone was nice, as was the delivery guy. Ok, that’s about as good as it got. Oh, and the small piece of garlic toast was good, once I scraped off the burnt edges. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. I’ve eaten this dish at restaurants all over the place and the way I have always seen it made was in stacks of eggplant layered with cheese and sauce. This was NOT that. It was a large order of spaghetti and sauce… no meat, just tomato sauce… with a very thin slice(though large) of fried eggplant with cheese on top. First, if I had wanted spaghetti, that is what I would have ordered. Second, the eggplant was stringy, rubbery, and pretty tasteless. Third, well, it was just awful! I’m usually pretty liberal about giving good reviews, but I just can’t on this! I had to throw it away and settled for something canned from the cupboard. The side salad was shredded lettuce with a few flakes of cheese and a thin slice of almost green tomato on top. The total was $ 12.88(plus tip for delievery). I wish I had just put the money in the garbage disposal and cut out the middle man. If you decide you want this, stay home, cook some pasta noodles and pour a can of tomato sauce on top of it. It’ll be better and cheaper! Maybe the pizza’s better, but I’ll never know. Anyone know where I can get some GOOD eggplant parmigiana without going to some fancy restaurant?

My review is for a few deliveries of both pizza and pasta. The pizza is ok, kinda average really… so I’m kind of offended that this place took best pizza Oak Cliff this year. I figured«man gotta try that» but something tells me that either friends and family voted or I’m missing something. It’s within a couple miles from me and yet it usually takes an hour to get here. The pasta was«ok» as well… people talk down about it and it’s not amazing or anything… edible is a good word. What really tore me up was the delivery guy shows up without ANY change. Who the hell doesn’t have change when they deliver? So, he gives me the food(good plan) and say’s he’ll be back with change. About an hour later he’s finally back… it was all kinda odd for me.

i’m giving them two stars because I’ve had the pizza before, and it was good. However, I ordered food at 8:30 on a Monday — we’re talking a sandwich, a salad, and a calzone, so not exactly labor intensive — and we had to finally call and cancel the order at 10 pm because WESTILLHADNOFOOD. We called at the one hour mark(original time estimate was 45 minutes) and were told«he’s seven minutes away»…fifteen minutes later, we call back…“He’s 10 minutes away.” Nope, sorry. All I can think is they were super busy since everything in BA is closed on Monday? In any scenario, never ordering delivery again, that’s for sure.

This is not a food review, but rather a service review. I was excited to try this place. I went online and was impressed by the menu options. I called to place my order. It was a task trying to get the young lady to figure out how to take an order. She said, «hang on one second» seven times during the call. Finally she figured out how to do what ever and… here we go. I wanted to order the $ 11.95 cash only deal. I asked for sun dried tomatoes, jalapeños, and chicken. After she figured out how to place the order she says.“hang on one second”. She came back and said it would be $ 2 extra because chicken isn’t a topping. I said… yes it is… it’s on your website… which I was viewing at the same time. She said no and I said… BYEFELICIA. Canceled my order. Any time placing a pizza order becomes a task it makes it easy for the patron(me) to give up… especially when I was already on the fence about ordering pizza. I really wanted to try this place too. Darn.

I hate to give a poor review to a neighborhood business, however I cannot recommend David’s Oak Cliff Pizza. I’ll give it to them for being consistent, I’ve tried 6 pizzas over the past 2 years and every time I swear I will never go back. My neighbor convinced me that I had to have their gorgonzola and walnut pizza, he said it was fantastic. Here’s what I got; The Crust, the foundation of all things pizza, I’m convinced they are buying pre-made frozen crust, I just don’t see how you can make something so consistently taste like cardboard… and it’s extremely oily. The Toppings: well portioned pizza toppings, just poor quality. roasted red peppers… obviously from a jar, texture of mush and no flavor. gorgonzola… good enough walnuts… I mean, their walnuts… spinach… hard to tell but seemed to consistent to not be frozen. Price for a Medium, 12″ was $ 16 approx… for that price I can have a flatbread at Bolsa. So next time I haven’t planned Monday’s dinner and it to late to cook… I guess I’m calling one of the major pizza chains, or getting a flat bread from Bolsa or Nova. You now know who I won’t be calling.

Reasonably good pizza at a reasonable price. Not much ambiance if you eat-in. Good enough for those nights when you want to grab something predictable and simple. Definitely not a pretentious Oak Cliff eatery, which is often welcome.

This was not what I would expect in Oak Cliff. I only will order for delivery. Meaning… weather is bad. Sorry OC Pizza. Dough tough… can’t tell which pizza is all veggie and which has meat. :(

This is a gem in Oak Cliff. The restaurant itself is small and nothing to write home about, but don’t let that turn you away. I came for the pizza, and it didn’t disappoint! The money they save on having a small dining area they put into the pizza. There are amazingly fresh ingredients, and lots to choose from: genoa salami, capers, eggplant, sliced sausage, artichoke hearts, feta cheese, Gorgonzola cheese, anchovies, sun dried tomatoes, basil, roasted red peppers & of course the usual pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapple, etc. Thin crust pizza, salads, calzones, hot and cold sandwiches and pasta dishes. I spoke with the owner, David, while waiting for my pizza and he was really friendly who seems to care for his customers. Definitely check out the two slice, salad & drink special from 11am-7pm for $ 5!

The first time I got a pizza here it did not taste very good. The dough was not fully cooked and it tasted funny. That was over 4 years ago so I decided to give them another chance. This time my pizza was delish! So I ordered here again and again the pizza was pretty dawgon good.

I want to like this place, but the food is just underwhelming. Got the Margherita Pizza and the Creamy Pesto Penne Pasta with Artichoke Hearts. Both were very greasy. I paid $ 4 to add shrimp to the pasta. They threw in chicken too and probably charged me for it. This place is expensive for what you get. Better off getting pizza from Nova, Bolsa, or Eno’s. Still need to try Zoli’s. The one good thing at Oak Cliff Pizza was the dessert. The cheesecake is phenomenal, though it was from Top That Cheesecake!

I called at 6 on a Monday evening. I was asked to hold then hung up on the first time I called. I called back again asked to hold. Cool you’re busy I get it no problem. After a minute or so the gentleman who answered the phone asked how he could help me. I replied«I’d like a delivery please» he then asked what I wanted. I ordered one item. He cut me off to ask if that was all. I continued to place the rest of my order. I ordered a med. Cheese pizza and the chipotle pesto shrimp risotto(on of David’s NEW Specialty Plates). I’ve posted a photo under the photo section to show what I received. After finishing my order he then asked again if it was a pick up. «No» i said…“it’s a delivery”. Then he began the excruciating task of asking for my information. He would ask my a question like my phone number then after every 3 numbers i said he wanted to interrupt me and repeat them back but i was already into the rest of the number. Ahhh… just shut up and let me give you the whole number!!! Then he wanted me to SPELL out my complete address and if that wasn’t annoying enough, he then asked my name, covered the phone and started talking to someone else, came back and asked for it again. This went on 3 times before I said«you’re not even listening anyways». Whatever. I hung up. 35 mins later a tiny knock on the door. My food was here. It was a disgusting joke. The asparagus were brown and obviously came from either a jar or can. The baby carrots looked so old they were almost brown. There were 6 shrimp a pile of strange rice in the center(not risotto) and about 2 handfuls of capers dumped on top… alrighty so the veggies I had already deemed inedible. I tried to cut the asparagus anyways… just as I thought. Mushy and stringy. ugh I spit it out. i didn’t even attempt the carrots. On to the shrimp. They were overcooked and tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Moving on to the strange rice ball thing… it actually tasted ok… except for the bits that were under cooked and still very hard. Yay. Glad I ordered a backup pizza just in case. My pizza was completely burnt on the bottom.super.thanks guys. lesson learned.

45 minutes for the worst pizza I have ever tasted! I ordered a half pepperoni and half cheese large pizza — for $ 15! The pizza was luke-warm, thin and boring! It reminded me of school pizza. Also, the seasoning in the sauce was not my cup of tea. To each their own I supposed. I respect the locality of the business, but I will not be ordering again.

I like supporting local businesses, but this one completely drops the ball. To give it a fair chance, we’ve ordered pizza four times. First time was when it first opened. Our order was wrong and it took twice as long as one would expect pizza to take. I chalked it up to being new. Second time was also screwed up, and with no apology on the screw up, the taste of mediocre pizza was not good. Third was ok service, yet still bland flat pizza despite a change of ownership. Fourth time… *sigh* the girl child taking the order had never heard of gluten free crust and didn’t even know they offered it. I should have taken that as a red flag and passed. My black olive and mushroom pizza had four pieces of mushroom. Really. I counted them. The other pizzas, as another reviewer said, well, I’ve also had better pizza from a gas station. It’s thin and flat, and I don’t mean that in a good way. The sauce is bland, the toppings were ok, and overall was simply not worth the money. I’m done with Oak Cliff Pizza.

I’m only giving them a 2 star because I didn’t have the pizza. An am hoping they do a better job. I order the Pasta Chicken Marsala. After tasting it I can clearly say I could have made better in my own home. The mushrooms where completely from a can and the alfredo pasta tasted like chicken soup?! The chicken was a breaded. I also ordered the cheese sticks they are also not good. They are small french breads with cheese nothing that great.

Just ok, I was very unimpressed with the pizza but the sandwiches were good, the bruschetta was very salty.
