As usually the food is amazing. The cheese grits are to die for. The crawfish are tender and cooked perfectly with a breaking that is just right. The same can be said for the fried shrimp. It’s just right. We both had craft cocktails that were great in taste and balance. They complemented the food wonderfully. The stuffed shrimp was well balanced between the shrimp and the stuffing. The only thing I was disappointed about was not having enough room for desert. The service was wonderful. I look forward to going back.

I was really disappointed with the service here. I went with my family for my birthday dinner. The server did not get to us until maybe fifteen minutes after we were seated. It kind of seemed like he had just started working here or didn’t really give his full attention because of our ethnicity. Anyways, we let that slide and went off to order our food. After the food was dropped off at our table, he came by ONCE to make sure our food was good. After that, we never saw him again until we got our check. Food, on the other hand, was good. I could tell that they were made really fresh. We started off with Gulf oysters that seemed a bit small for the price we paid. The fried soft crab is a MUST try! It’s really tender and flavorful right when you bite into it. I recommend switching out the fries for another side; it’s not as appetizing when you have so many other fried food in front of you! :)

So yeah. It’s good. Need I say more? Actually, I do since Unilocal is telling me to «tell us more»(guess three short sentences doesn’t really explain much huh). I’m not completely sure how busy this place is on other days but on a Saturday night it was packed and we probably wouldn’t have gotten in without a reservation. Shows how popular this place is. Everything they serve is pretty high quality, which is what you would expect from what you’re paying(although not unbelievably high, it’s not cheap, especially dinner). They start you off with bread and it’s actually toasted very well. I know a lot of people try not to eat too much of the bread/chips that some restaurants so they don’t get too full but forget that, we had them refill the bread a couple times(I mean, it was good. What do you want me to do?). Probably not the best idea since the portion size for the actual is pretty big but I didn’t realize that(oops). We had fried calamari for the appetizer(yeah, on top of the bread they already give you. I eat a lot okay). I was pleasantly surprised by the taste, even for something as simple as frying seafood. For my dish I had the pan-seared tilapia. It was cooked very well: crispy enough to enjoy the crunch but not so much that it became like the fried calamari. One thing I was surprised by was how many green beans it came with(I’m more of a carnivore myself). However, the green beans actually tasted very good(at least, better than what I’d expect of vegetables anyway). I was way too full for dessert so I can’t put my input for that. Atmosphere is very nice and classy feeling. If you have some money and want to go somewhere nice, check this place out!

Literally got ignored by a bartender for a good 20 minutes before another bartender finally came to take my order. This bartender helped the people sitting next to me, starred me straight in the face, and walked away multiple times. She even extended her arm past me to shake the hand of another customer sitting right next to me and asked him to come back again soon. HELLO. am I invisible? Food was alright, but Papadeaux is overrated in my opinion.

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening at 7pm and there was a 45 minute wait for a table, so we sat at the bar. Had very nice service and very good food. The Shrimp & Grits was non-traditional; they had separate shrimp creole and andouille sausage grits., quite good. And the Pasta Mardi Gras was nicely seasoned and lots of seafood and andouille sausage. Our bartender/server(Mallory) was very nice. My only complaint was the noise level, but it wasn’t ridiculous.

This place is suffering from bad management. The service was subpar. I’ll start by saying our waiter wasn’t too bad. He was friendly but it would have been good to see him more. He didn’t check in that often. My friend ordered a drink and it took a good 15 mins during a non-busy time to get it. It shouldn’t take that long. The biggest issue I faced was some the kid who brought out our food. He had the«I’m so cool for this job» attitude. He was unfriendly and he even dropped a shrimp on my seat. I didn’t see it but my friend watched him drop it on the back of my seat and and even watched the worker look at the dropped shrimp yet he didn’t say anything. When my friend told me what happened I stood up to dust the seat and the worker didn’t even bother making eye contact. Another issue I saw was the bus boys. The table next to us was vacated for about 20 minutes before someone came to clean it and when they did 2 ladies were yapping away and one was on texting while cleaning. This place needs new management. The food was good though. We got some platters but a problem was I found a hair in the tarter sauce and also in the salad. That’s disgusting. The pain wouldn’t stop. We ordered a dozen oysters but they never came out so we told them to cancel it. The manager did come out to apologize for the oysters. Again, the incompetence didn’t plague everyone there but enough where it affects the store’s fluid operation. At the time all this was happening, the restaurant was NOT busy yet so it adds to their problems that they can’t get their act straight. I wouldn’t rule out this location but I can’t fully recommend it.

My family had rented out a private room for a rehearsal dinner. It was just big enough to accommodate everyone. The waitstaff were overall pretty good though we did have to flag our person down several times to order more drinks. The kitchen did a pretty good job of getting the food out close enough to at the same time which is a feat considering there were like 50 of us. I am not real big on seafood so ordered the chicken which was good and the portions were very large. Folks seemed to enjoy the food and overall everyone seemed to have had a good time.

Does pappadeaux really need another review? Nah, prob not, but I’ll throw my 2¢ in anyway… This place is good. It’s a small chain, BUT they consistently produce tasty dishes and it’s an old stand by of mine. I have never had a bad dish here. Some of my favorite dishes include stuffed shrimp, pan seared tilapia, ginger salmon, seafood cobb salad, and my favorite cocktail, bayou sweet tea. YUM! It is a little pricey, but that’s seafood for ya when you don’t live on the coast. I know that I can always go here and get a good meal, and yes, I do crave it. I would definitely recommend pappadeaux for anyone that likes southern seafood with a creole flair. My life would be so sad without cayenne pepper, and the holy trinity of creole cooking.(If you don’t know what that means, google it). Give it a try, Pappas is a nice company based in Texas. What more could you want? ;)

Food is amazing as always, but they lose a star for the smaller portions and same price. It’s definitely a noticeable difference :/ On a different note, our server was nice but slow and it was near closing time. Took forever to get him to come to our table, bring bread but overall he was decent.

My brother introduced me to Pappadeaux in Atlanta, so when we came here, we knew we had to try this place out. I’ve also been to the one in San Antonio as well. It’s doesn’t matter which one, they all hit home runs every single time. No, I’m wrong, it’s not home runs; it’s grand slams. It’s just the best seafood I every had, even in the middle of Texas. All the dishes are flavorful, many of which have a Cajun theme associated with it. Services is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Dishes are wonderful. Haven’t had a bad experience yet. I wish they put one of these in Orange County. I would be eating there everyday. It is really that good.

Came here with a party of seven for a birthday on a Thursday evening with a reservation, but when we got to the hostess, we were told they could not find our reservation and that there was a 45 minute wait for a table that could accommodate a party of 7 inside. Our option for immediate sitting was out in the patio, which we took. The patio table had to be cleaned up before we sat and our waiter Max helped us with the menus and water before we placed our drinks and food orders. Other than the bad start, the rest of our experience here was mostly good. For drinks, you need to try the following: — $ 11.95 — Large Swamp Thing — This is a great drink, made out of Raspberry & melon liqueurs layered with frozen Hurricane & Margarita — $ 9,95 — Raspberry Peach Fizz — This was tasty! For food, we ordered: -$ 28.95 — Swordfish & Grilled Shrimp — best meal I’ve had at Pappadeaux in a while -$ 21.95 — Rainbow Trout & Shrimp — Wife liked this food, although she though the shrimp were overcooked. –10.50 — 2 Side Spinach — Nothing great about this one… just usual spinach taste. Overall, the drinks and food were good, our waiter Max was efficient and came to check up on us numerous times to make sure we were doing o.k. Other than the initial experience of having a mix-up with our reservation, I think i’ll come back here for the drinks, Cajun food, and the chilled-out atmosphere.

This place is always popping and almost always has a good vibe(even on a Sunday night). Big dining area but the noise level isn’t too out of control. The staff was super friendly this visit and was attentive as well. The negative was they ran out of oysters. The food is always amazing. I almost always get the same thing: appetizer trio = crawfish fondue, alligator, and salmon; also, pasta Mardi gras. Sooooo good!

Rarely disappointed in any dish I order here. Tonight I had the grilled costa rican mahi but asked to blacken the mahi and subbed the green beans for broccolini because I’m complicated like that. The fish was cooked perfectly and the grits were cheesy and delicious and the butter sauce was mouthwatering. Service is great as the servers are more than accommodating. Often I wish the appetizers weren’t so overpriced but they do offer complimentary french bread and butter. Drinks are strong as well. They’re always packed so expect to wait for a table.

Had dinner here recently. I have visited this chain in other places and the food seems consistent. Service: ½ Star Food: ¼ Star Price vs Quality/Value:½ Star Atmosphere: ½ Star 1 ¾ stars I defaulted to a two star review based on some food was ok and the initial server interaction was positive. Plus the location was clean and inviting. SERVICE The server did a great job at the start, was friendly and welcoming. However, he was not very knowledgeable about the various dishes we asked about. Several he stated he had never eaten. He didn’t like seafood! Your a server at a seafood restaurant and you don’t like seafood? How are you supposed to explain and detail the food choices if you have never had them? In additional once the food was served he was almost impossible to find and our drinks did not get filled or other needs met. We had to track other servers down to get help. FOOD Two appetizer were Crispy Fried Alligator and Shrimp & Crawfish Fondeaux. The alligator was WAYOVERCOOKED! I have had this fresh before and I suspect this is a prepackaged frozen item they thaw and fry onsite. It was disgusting and the sauce was needed to hide the taste. The shrimp and crawfish fandeaux was good. I wish the rest of the meal had been as good as this was. Plenty of meat not just fandeaux like some places. The garlic bread with it was very tasty. My wife had Shrimp Creole & Grits With creamy andouille cheese grits. The grits were glumpy and lumpy with horrible taste or seasoning. It was not the andouille that cause this it was poorly prepared grits. The shrimp was well cooked and good flavor. However, when you combine both it ruined the entire dish. I ordered the Pappadeaux Platter. The parts of this meal was cooked well and tasted ok. The stuffed crab cake and stuffed shrimp were disgusting. There was more stuffing than I would expect and the stuffing flavor was horrible. I did not even finish them only a bit or two to taste them. The Tilapia was cooked well as were the shrimp themselves. The crab cake was ok however, it had more breading than meat. PRICEVSVALUE This is not a cheap place to eat. Many of the menu items are expensive especially when ordering for two or more. Your bill even without alcohol can easily be $ 150+ with meal, drinks, and tip. My concern for this was when I was told a large portion of whats on the menu was not fresh or fresh made. I would expect for this price it was all fresh and fresh made. This was from the server and I did not take the time to speak to a manager to confirm. Frozen food for these prices is unacceptable. ATMOSPHERE The tables tend to be a little tightly together and not enough room sometimes between tables and aisles. Some tables are more room and by the windows and I am not sure how they pick and chose for those tables versus the less comfortable ones. Most of who I saw in the better space tables were well dressed where my wife and I are casual seemed to get a less spacey seat on the main aisle to and from the kitchen near a post. The noise volume was louder than average and I needed to lean in a few times to hear my wife. The location was clean and neat. Had no bad smells. The tables was clean and the carpets are kept clean through the dinners by employees. Overall I was not impressed with this location especially for the price paid. I doubt I will return to this location in the future to even give them another shot or try anything else on the menu. They had a great menu with great selections. I just wished the service and food quality lived up to the potential. Left very disappointed. :(

Sooooooo where do I begin. I have lots for friends and family that live in the real south: Virginia really isn’t the SOUTH: and they all go on and on about the service at Pappadeaux’s so when I was in Dallas, I couldn’t wait to try it out! So I visited on a Friday evening, the location that is nearest to Addison: by the way, Addison is a really nice place to stay in if you want to be near everything that is going on that’s NOT in the downtown area: we arrived at about 8:00. THISPLACEWASPACKED and apparently not just because it was a Friday night; I’m told that this restaurant is packed every evening. Valet parking: I’m seeing that this restaurant valet parking trend a lot in Dallas — not really sure why I need to valet when there is an adjacent parking lot, but ANYHOO: The wait was about an hour. First of all, if you are a single and ready to mingle, the bar at Pappadeaux’s is where you need to be at. I was at the bar and was chatting with some of everybody. I got a drink called SWAMPTHING. It was big and yummy and frozen and very pretty!!! I love a good fufu drink! The only sour note about the bar was the service. There were 3 bartenders that were all over the place and the one who took my drink order never asked was I okay, did I want another one… nothing. So our drinks ended up being free. The bar was popping. Men were everywhere. Nice big, tall, strong bodied southern gentlemen. Ah, I digress. A gentlemen wanted us to stay at the bar with him, but I wanted to get the full white table cloth experience, so we declined and moved on to the dining area when our table was ready. Upon sitting down, our server was immediately upon us. I wish I could remember his name, but I simply cannot. I got the seafood platter and it was indeed a platter. Fried shrimp, stuffed crab, two crab cakes and 3 pieces of fried fillet fish. It was really good, if you’re in the mood for a fried fest: I was: I also got a chance to enjoy the mushroom risotto with pan seared scallops, shrimp and spinach and ITWASAMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I mean I am ready to get on somebody’s plane right now and go back to get more of it. Spinach cooked perfectly and was so astonishing was that the risotto was prepared EXCELLENTLY, I mean it was PERFECT! Not overcooked or under done, it was just perfect and if you’ve ever had risotto or have tried to make it yourself you know that it can be a daunting task. Scallops and the shrimp both cooked to perfection. This dish was delicious!!! Service, food, ambiance all on point, this place definitely deserves a five star review. Kuddos to you, Pappa!

3.5 stars. I was in town visiting and there aren’t any Pappadeaux’s where I’m from(Cali/West Coast), so I didn’t really know what to expect but I had high hopes for Cajun food. I was misled though as this is better described as «Louisiana-styled» seafood. This is a nice, family style restaurant but it’s overpriced. Most of the entrees, which consist of fried seafood, grilled seafood, and carbs with seafood(i.e. pasta or rice), fall in the $ 20-$ 30 range. The portions are generous but I don’t feel the flavors justify the prices. What you get is a slightly nicer version of chain restaurants like Roadhouse Grill or Lucille’s(okay, you don’t have those in Texas so it might be hard to compare). Basically, a large and comfy, home-styled restaurant with decent food, but nothing that stands out as amazing or must have, especially when you see your bill(chance are you’ll feel like you lost money). Shrimp and Raw Oysters — fresh, no complaints. Crispy Fried Alligator appetizer — yum, tastes like battered fried frog or chicken-calamari hybrid. Cup of Gumbo with Andouille Sausage & Seafood — comforting with a mild kick of spices. Pappadeaux Seafood Platter — Fried tilapia or catfish fillet, shrimp, blue crab cake, stuffed shrimp & stuffed crab with French fries. HUGE portion that can easily be shared by two or three people. Mixed Grilled Seafood — scallops, shrimp, salmon, tuna, oh my. You get two hefty skewers with those and an assortment of peppers(green, red, orange, yellow). Comes with dirty rice or you can substitute, which I did with sautéed spinach. The food was good but I would rather pay half the price for half the portion so that I could try more dishes(or just save money). I heard the etoufee is highly recommended so if I’m ever here again, I may try that.
