Primebar looks AMAZING with the remodeled look! I went for a night out with friends and they had a nice, diverse crowd — not too packed but enough of a crowd to know it was a great place to be. The original outdoor patio has been completely redone and the front bar has been remodeled to include an open patio look. I’m interested to see how they transition in the colder months. Surprisingly, despite the crowd, it was still fairly easy to get a drink and the prices weren’t outrageous. Very chill, relaxed atmosphere with good mix if music. I would love to go back for brunch.

I’ve been here quite a few times for lunch/happy hour and for drinks at the bar during the early evening hours. New ownership which I’ve heard has put more of a focus on the food menu which is right up my alley. I’m not a fan of the club scene so try to go early afternoon or during weekdays if possible. The happy hour food specials are great and all of the items I’ve tried have been fantastic(wings, pretzels, hummus, quesadillas). The salmon B.A.T. sandwich and Hummus wrap are fantastic for lunch options. Quality ingredients, nice flavors, good portion sizes and great value — cannot beat it for bar fare. TVs stationed throughout the restaurant/patio so I hope to be able to frequent the restaurant often for College Football games. They have a great concept of «Adult Milkshakes» with several options to choose from. Mondays are half off milkshakes and burgers so I hope to be back soon to try one!

Would’ve been a great review if it wasn’t for last night. Bartender with long blonde hair could use better hearing and judgement. Ordered 2 shots at the bar, 1 had clearly much less than the other. I handed mine(one with less) back to her, expecting to have a normal sized drink back. Didn’t get a drink back, still charged for both drinks and security came to push us out(minutes before closing) because«my boyfriend forced me his drink when I OBVIOUSLY couldn’t drink anymore».(He just gave up his drink for me) Tried to explain to the security guy but he didn’t give a crap. Manager came out and spoke with my boyfriend, he stuttered a little(nothing out of the ordinary, just some um and uhs) then I came in and explained as well. Manager said«yeah I can see that you’re clearly okay, you(boyfriend) I wouldn’t give another drink to either, what do you want me to do about it?» I want to have a good time when I come out and give you my money — aka not be ripped off, treated rudely, and embarrassed in front of everyone there. Thanks. If I deserved it, I wouldn’t have minded at all, I understand everyone’s caution and responsibility, but this was just too extreme.

NOMOREBOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS! This review is for brunch… my friends and I were at one of a few occupied tables yesterday and it was a bit of a mess. The ceiling was leaking, my omelet came out cold with the cheese congealed and even with two waitresses, our service was slow. They also got rid of the bottomless $ 8 mimosas when the new owners took over. Now you can get a carafe for $ 16. I’d stay away if you have a hangover — they were blasting house music during brunch.

I went here for brunch with some friends. He atmosphere is really nice. It was a breezy day so we sat on the patio. Completely covered so no one person gets too much sun. I didn’t get any alcohol personally but my friend said her mimosa was good. I got the BAT sandwich off the brunch menu and it was awesome! Service was good. The only thing I will say is that the restaurant is under new management so if Unilocal says there is a free appetizer when you check in on your phone, prime bar won’t honor it. Of course they honored ours because we had no clue, but for future reference the Unilocal coupon is not honored. Overall a good experience. I would like to go in the evening hours next time to see what that hype is about also.

The bar itself is not bad. It has two sections to it, so you can have more of a «restaurant» side to it where you can actually hear people talk to you, or you can go on the more«clubbish» side where it’s loud music and dancing on the weekends. There’s also a decent sized patio, which is nice. I’m not a huge fan of the food here; however, the HH specials they have are worth going at least once. It’s your typical bar food. Burgers, quesadillas, sandwiches, fries, etc. The location is nice if you’re into bar hopping since it’s on Cedar Springs. The service is pretty good too.

I would rather pick this place over Concrete Cowboy. They have a better selection of music even though the place is a bit darker inside. Much more spacious with an actual dance floor. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss depending on weekend but overall, a more enjoyable place in my opinion.

Let me start by saying two things: 1) I was a server for 10 years and have a pretty high tolerance and empathy for servers. 2) I’m getting increasingly disappointed in the investment in Sports in uptown. Atmosphere — We went to primebar to watch the Packers vs. Seahawks — only 4 teams left and in the middle of playoffs we were told that sound wasn’t played until ‘maybe’ Superbowl. Maybe?! Maybe you shouldn’t be branded as a sportsbar if you aren’t going to play the game. Instead we listened to overly loud ‘house’ music and stared at each other because we couldn’t hear ourselves over the music. Although I must say staring at each other was better than people watching the frat-tastic atmosphere. Service — You know when you are in a room with your ex and somehow your eyes keep meeting in this culmination of awkward moments. That was the relationship with our server. We were in the middle of the restaurant to the point where our waitress had to pass us SEVERAL times, yet still found a way to actually ignore us. I ordered a beer as a joke while asking for our check. The bartender brought out the beer and it was finished well before our checks arrived(It was a heavy craft beer, so not an easy feat). Food — this is there one redeeming quality. All of the food was pretty good, but not worth the rest of the stress that comes along with dining here. I gave it two stars because I enjoy coming out here at night, but never again for a meal.

I don’t understand why this place has 3 stars, this may be the«lone star» state but this place deserves 5!!! LOL!!! just stay away from the $ 14 tacos. I got a free app when I checked in but who gives, let’s talk about what matters, the water. continually refreshed and definitely local(hate it when bars take bottled water and pour it in a glass and try to act like its local). real agua heads are all about local organic water and this is the spot! I know this place will do well because according to JP Morgan, places with Unilocal reviews that have good water typically outlast their waterless counterparts. proof here:

I went on a Sunday for the first time and it was not the best experience. They had a DJ and a lot of the people coming and going. I ordered the mimosa special. The waitress forgot about my order and took so long to come back that by the Time she was ready to put in my Mimosa order, the special was over. No big deal. But I ordered the turkey burger and it was extremely dry. We actually had to return quite a bit of food due to it being wrong or just not up to par and the manager came to our table. The manager was very rude which was very disappointing. To make a long story short, the service wasn’t that great and neither was the food. I haven’t decided if I will give them a second chance or not.

This visit was while I was at a meeting for work in Texas. Went for a happy hour with a really large group. The drinks were OK but the server took our plates from us twice when we weren’t done with our food. Everything I friend was delicious(sliders, big soft pretzels, shrimp wrapped with bacon). The atmosphere is really loud so I see this as more of a hangout/bar/place to watch a game and not really somewhere I would want to go for a meal. You can eat inside or outside but on a Friday night around 6 pm both areas were jam packed.

Came for brunch Saturday afternoon, their brunch lasts until 4 that’s pretty cool. A must to try is the eggs Benedict with a gumbo hollandaise, it was so good! I gave this place 4 stars only because my fiancé’a place was just so so, he had the carnivore omelette. $ 10 bottomless mimosas per glass, but def need less orange juice in them! I would come back, the patio was nice.

Excellent Happy Hour, great beautiful environment. Service was pretty good but we also sat at the bar, both bartenders were pretty good. Prime Rib with Au Jus is excellent! Tender, delicious, au jus was up with some of the best I’ve had Chicken with pesto sandwich was also delicious! Cast iron chicken with some type of BBQ sauce wasn’t my fav, I think a gravy might go so much better with that so we ordered some country gravy with chorizo in it and OMG that gravy is DELICIOUS!!! creamy corn was great and loaded mash was as well. Definitely I must try. Strongly recommend for HAPPYHOUR!

I’ve been going to PrimeBar for about a year now. Never been disappointed in the food or service. Check in on Unilocal and get a free appetizer. Today I opted for something different; choosing the Shrimp Tacos. Totally awesome, Delish! Also, ask to be set in Taylor’s section. Excellent waitress with a very pleasant personality.

I was a little nervous going to prime bar cause of the reviews I’ve read… This review is from my experience last night… To start this off… I went with my hubster and we DIDNOT experience any type of racism… We were immediately greeted with a smile at the door by the hostess(who was nice) she gave us the option of being served outside or inside… I asked her opinion on which option would most likely get us faster service and ended up staying inside… :-) Our waiter was too cute… She was attentive, fast and nice as well We did not wait any longer than 15 mins for our food… I was so shocked because I read the reviews and was expecting to wait long lol Oh FYI I bought a voucher on Groupon($ 15 for $ 30 worth of food) and it was totally worth it.

BEFORECOMINGTOTHISPLACE, I WAS A LITTLEAPREHENSIVE…1. SOME UnilocalERSARETHROWINGTHERACECARD2. I FOUNDTHISPLACEONGROUPON(THAT’S ALWAYSBAD)… I was very surprised with the outcome. I went with my twin sister on a Monday night and it was almost completely empty. I had just gotten into a wreck that day so I needed at DRINK!!! I got the Texas Donkey!!! very Good!!! Tastes similar to a lunch box with a citrus flavor!!! a MUSTHAVE!!! I wanted to order another one but they were $ 10 each… hmmmm a little steep for the size… My sister and I got the flatbreads which were awesome! I can tell they use fresh ingredients, the calamari… which comes with your choice of a sauce but our waitress gave us BOTH sauces!!! yummy… and the wings with some type of apple sauce… the wings were probably my least favorite… something was a little off about them… I don’t know!!! Overall the experience was nice. I must say, our waitress and the bar staff did not go out of their way to be welcoming but they were definitely not rude… We got small plates this time… I’ll go back for an actually entrée next time!!!

****Reviewed as a Bar**** I have to say this place has the opportunity to be great because it is in the perfect location and has a great inside, but this place falls so low on the scale and is by far the worst I’ve ever been treated as a patron. The only reason I come here is for the bar and ONLY if someone else absolutely wants to go because they went to TX A&m(It’s a TX A&M bar); otherwise, I boycott this place completely. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. There are a million stories that people have regarding this place, but to the point, they only let in «the right kind of people» after a certain time. We stood in line for about 30 minutes and was at the very front of it for 20 of those minutes and watched many people walk out. Finally when we decided to walk away and go somewhere else, they immediately let the group of guys that were next in. Again, this isn’t the only story, and know at least 20 – 30 people that this has happened to. If we do by chance get in, the only good thing about this place is that the music is good(which is probably the only reason I give this place a star at all). Props to the DJ. Primebar, do not lose this guy because he is your only saving grace. ***Review as a Restaraunt**** So the food itself isn’t half bad if you come during the day when the place is desolate. The cooks have more time to make the meal and pay attention and not be sloppy.(I would give it 3.5−4 stars if not for the above portion of the review). Our waitress was attentive and sweet enough so I have no qualms there.

i don’t know what everyone is talking about. I never had an issue going in. no matter with whom i went. Inside you will see a mixed crowd, from the 300lbs 5′ Hispanic lady to superfancy foofoo dressed males from all ethnicities. I dont like it as much as other places because mostly I stand out with my 6′ plus heels. But the drinks are really strong from the lovely female bartenders and for uptown not that much usually $ 6

Primebar has got all the elements to be a pretty good bar. Think about it. It’s in a prime location and they have a pretty extensive drink and food menu. Sadly, it still falls short in lots of places. Let’s talk about my brunch experience here. It was a lovely day to sit outside, so my friends and I opted for a large table on the large front patio. There was a DJ spinning tracks, really good music too. It was a thoughtful touch and I appreciated the effort. However call me old, but it was just too dang loud to sit and hold a conversation. It was Sunday morning/afternoon and we had to shout to hear one another. All we wanted to do was re-hydrate and eat some hearty food. Speaking of food, this is it’s second shortcoming. Not only did it take forever to receive my small order of crab cakes Benedict, but it was hardly filling and extremely bland. Ok, I probably deserve the blame for ordering something so weird at bar but at least I tried! Third, the service. I know, I know. Everyone has their off-days, but our waitress was quite hasty and actually a bit rude when I had to ask for water three different times and for an extra plate for our appetizer. Perhaps she was overwhelmed because it was busy that day. But it was not exactly the type of service you expect to get when dining out. Now for Primebar’s more redeeming qualities: Refreshing bottomless mimosas for $ 8! Can’t beat that… enclosed patio, pretty cool vibe and nice scene of people.
