Food and drinks we’re amazing as was the service! Our server Kaylan was on top of everything. This place also has happy hour everyday? Would definitely come back. The chef knows how to run a kitchen.

Great food great service friendly staff !! The atmosphere is wonderful contemporary style a bit of Taco Dinner with a friendlier staff and an interesting menu. The Barbacoa tacos are out of this world the flavor explodes in your mouth. The Quesa Blanco is nice and mild but the salsas are varied from Mild to Hot and full of flavor. The cocktails are basic but very good. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

I’ve had several people rave about this place and I decided to finally give it a try when I had friends visiting from out of town, but sadly I was disappointed and I won’t be coming back. The server was quick to serve us drinks after we sat down, but when it came for him to come back to get our order, refill our water and drinks, wait for our food, etc… it took forever. Yes, it was Saturday night on the Strip and the place was packed but the wait was ridiculous even by Oak Lawn standards. Most of the staff seemed more concerned setting up the DJ(not sure why Quesa needs a DJ? There are plenty of other places on the street to get your fill of bad remixes) and standing around chatting than serving their customers… but the food finally came and we discovered our orders were messed up… we were so hungry we didn’t care at this point, we ate and eager to get out… but then our server mixed up our checks and had to wait even longer before we left. I will give Quesa one thing… the food and cocktails are very good. But the service was beyond terrible, so bad that it is unlikely I’ll come back. It is a shame as it seemed like a great restaurant concept that Oak Lawn sorely needed.

Two thumbs up! The street tacos are delicious. We tried chicken, pork, fish, shrimp and prime rib. They were all exceptional! My favorite was the carnitas(pork). The corn tortilla tacos are authentic in the sense that they are not huge and they are not smothered with lettuce, cabbage and a whole lot of other filler — a small tortilla filled with meat! That’s what you get. The drinks are great as well — we had a swirl and a spicy cucumber both quite refreshing! This is not a fancy restaurant by any means but it is clean and the service is fast and friendly.

This place keeps getting better and better. The street tacos here are wonderful, and you can buy individual tacos, so the portions are exactly what you want. I really liked the prime rib taco. Our service was excellent. We were seated right away and we placed our drink orders as soon as we sat down. Our waiter was very attentive, our food came out quickly, and it was tasty. I’ll definitely be back when I want a quick bite to eat.

I enjoyed this dining experience! The food was great! The tacos were just like you get in Mexico City — the flavor was really good! Service was fast and friendly. I would recommend this as a good spot to grab a bite of some traditional Mexico City Street food. The Signature Quesa was good too — reminded me of an empanada. Definitely worth a trip back!

if you are looking for a late night snack this is the place on the strip for that. Its a cool place to just hang out and dance/eat. The tacos were good and an reasonable price. I wouldnt recommend this place on the weekend thought cause they have a live dj and alot of drunks come in and out of the place.

When they opened, I wasn’t sure what to make of Quesa. It’s a beautiful space, with an attentive staff and killer food, and yet, I didn’t feel compelled to become a regular. That intangible«vibe» wasn’t there for me. But when a group of friends wanted to go, of course I said yes, and I’m glad I did: the menu seems easier to understand, and the meal was great. If having tacos, go for the pork pastor or the chicken tinga. Seriously. I’m going to add Quesa to my «rotation.» It’s worth going back.

If I lived close by, I probably would be frequently this place often. They have great drinks(mojitos, margaritas), and they also have great happy hour specials. I also enjoyed watching soccer on their screen here. But in regards to food, I’ve only had one thing here — their namesake quesa(shorthand for quesadillas fritas or fried quesadillas). No, the place is not named after queso(aka cheese). If you have been reading my other reviews regarding fried quesadillas, you’d know by now that they’re akin to fried empanadas made with corn flour dough(much similar to the Colombian/Venezuelan empanadas). This is a staple street food in Mexico — I saw it in many places around Mexico City, and even on the road to Cuernavaca. And Quesa’s fried quesadillas are the best, in both quality, that I have had in Dallas(but then again, it’s also a rarity in this city, despite the number of Mexicans we have in the area). The one filled with tinga de pollo(chicken tinga) is my favorite. Do try it out, and it’s only $ 2.60 each. They’re open late too, on top of that! Thank me later.

This place is AWFUL. The service was awful the food was awful. Service: it took some time to be seated. –they weren’t busy, because everyone was at Café Brazil –the restaurant itself was barely half full –when we finally sat down, then more time lapsed for a server to come back — he took our order and only came back to drop off the food and give us the check(when we DIDNOTASKFORIT) Food: barbacoa, bland and mysterious looking(and that says a lot from from an Asian person) The shrimp, pretty much the same. The tortillas for the taco were dry and had cardboard edges. Two Words: No Bueno Final thought, I(or my friends) will NOT be back. It’s a shame because the strip has changed and grown more these past few years.

Some of the BEST, authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. Really. We kind of lucked up on this place, because it’s small, it’s kind of hidden in a corner and the restaurant and sign are simple. Their name, says it all. I’m so serious about that. You must order the Quesas. They’re quesadillas, huge quesadillas, that can be grilled or fried. I wanted the best of both Worlds of course, so I got grilled and fried. I’ve never had a taco so fresh, so filled with flavor and you definitely get your moneys worth. All of the flavor of the fillings, the soft, corn tortilla soaked it all up. The crazy thing also is, I’m not a huge fan of corn tortillas, but these… soft, just like flour tortillas. They became my favorite with one bite. I loved how you could see them in the kitchen, making everything to order. Nothing frozen, nothing pre-made. My favorite had to be the grilled Picadillo Quesa. Picadillo is one of my favorites all around. Ground beef, garlic, lime, peas & carrots all cooked down into this smörgåsbord of goodness! So once they wrapped it in a hot, corn tortilla, oh I was sold! Quesa is just simple, delicious, authentic Mexican food… top it all off with their sour cream, red or green salsa(my favorite) and you’ll fall in love just like I did. Ecstatic that I found this happy place!

Super yum Me and the bf stopped by for brunchy stuff and found some amazing stuffs. I had the breakfast taco trio. You can select different types! I had one taco w shredded beef, eggs, cheese… nomnom. The other two were ‘all in’ with peppers, onions and cheese but I had them hold the chorizo. Awesome! The bf had prime rib tacos which were phenomenal. I highly recommend the mimosa as it is perfectly balanced and the Aqua de horchata is very smooth. Definitely a place to visit if you’re in the gayborhood area!

We came here for lunch on a Friday and parking was easy on the street in front of the restaurant. However, during peak times, it may be difficult to find parking. There are a few tables outside in front under cover which would be a good spot for people watching. We decided to sit inside however(note that they do not have high chairs). The menu is simple and offers a wide variety of items. We kept it simple and got the Guacamole and Chips as a starter. It was good quality guac and on the creamier side. For our entrees we got 5 tacos and 5 quesas(which is their specialty deep fried dish, kind of like an empanada) We mixed up the different kinds of meats we got. We were interested in the one with vermicelli but the combo of flavors in that one did not work for me. The service here was great! They were so attentive and brought us refills on chips and horchata, no charge. Additionally, the presentation of the«street food» was nice and classy. A bit pricey for what you get, but a good experience overall!

Pleasantly surprise how authentic this place is. The concept is from street of Distrito Federal in Mexico City. The tacos we ordered tasted just like what we had in Mexico. Glad this is not one of the typical Tex-Mex joints. It’s a low key laid back type of place. Great drinks menu; my favorite is their frozen margarita. Tacos wise, pastor pork and tinga pulled chicken are great!

Came to Quesa expecting the usual Mexican/American food but I was impressed with their unique and delicious way of delivering Mexican cuisine. Hailing from Mexico City, the owner is on its way to claiming its righteous place among Dallas restaurants. Drinks: had a mango and a tamarindo margarita. Both delicious in their own way, both margaritas had a chili piquin rim and had an amazing frozen texture. Make sure to ask for a bit of extra tamarindo. Food: had the(5) quesadillas. In my options they were similar to Empanadas but nonetheless they were amazing. Cream, salsa verde and roja to top it off. Atmosphere: nice, cool and relaxed. Make sure to sit at the bar and ask for Peter! Amazing! :)

Ah I’d give this place a 3.5 if possible. I’ve noticed this place as it was being modeled and opened and was stoked to try it. The décor of this place was neat and gave a nice casual ambiance. I feel as if they were wanting to give off more of a bar vibe though as they had a pretty nice sized bar, and surrounding the outer premises were standing only tables. Finally coming in for dinner, the place had a decent amount of patrons so it seems to be doing well for how fairly recent they opened. We were greeted quickly and seated. The person who took our order was very quick and got us our drinks. We were ready to order pretty quickly; my partner and I both opted for the trio of tacos. I had 3 of the prime rib tacos, and they had choice of corn/flour tortillas or lettuce wraps, I went with the lettuce. Our order came out very swiftly, and honestly when they brought out our orders I seriously thought it was 1 taco each(they were wrapped in foil). They have a neat little condiment server with limes, onion and cilantro and also brought out a red salsa and green salsa to compliment the tacos. Now I understand street tacos and the size of them, but serious the portion size was absurdly small for $ 7. Don’t get me wrong, the prime rib tacos tasted just fine, they’re not the best tacos I’ve had but they were decent and well seasoned. Overall I really doubt I’ll be back for the food. For the price you’re paying for just the tacos and the portion size you get, maybe offer complimentary chips and salsa. Or maybe a side of rice/beans? I think they’d benefit more from being a just where you go and order your food and sit, instead of just being a sit and serve restaurant. They already have the set up, but perhaps that’s what it turns into after-hours? I’ll stick to fuel city tacos for my street tacos, as that as my go to spot.
