Came to Red Light Lounge because it was at the beginning of the Arts/Music Festival street and we didn’t want to have to buy tickets to purchase drinks at the festival. What I liked about this place was the rooftop — I love rooftops, and I’m sure Dallas is full of them with their great weather. While we were up there we saw two different groups with a dog, and there was a guy selling pulled pork sandwiches on the rooftop. We left ONLY because they ran out of beer, and we couldn’t dive into anything else at that point. I would recommend this place on the awesome rooftop and dog acceptance alone!

I’ve been to Red Light about 4 times now, including New Year’s Eve, and love it! Sound system is bumping. Roof top patio is one of the best in Deep Ellum. Intimate setting, but not over crowded. DJs are always funky — great music and variety. The drinks are decent — nothing over the top. Excellent spot for a night of dancing and a good view of the skyline!

I love the small intimate spot they call Red Light. I was just here to catch DJ Craze last Friday — 1/22, and it was lit. The crowd, USUALLY, is a bit older than at the LL. and that’s always a plus for me. Since I do have just about 10 years on most patrons Lol. DJs do play/spin«EDM»(as today’s generation call it) music, so don’t bother entering if this isn’t your cup of tea. The atmosphere is definitely always causal and everyone is strictly there for the music and a good time. The sound system is boomin, the drinks are fairly priced and the bar tenders are always pleasant. Not to mention, the girl’s bathroom is fairly clean and free from stench! I really appreciate them coming in throughout the night and keeping things fresh. AND of course, that rooftop deck on a nice summer/spring/fall evening is amazing. That is truly the highlight of this venue. If you ever find yourself here, and see me there, be sure to say HEY!

Too much techno music. The upstairs patio was cool but there was more techno music up there too.

I might be giving this rating prematurely for I was only inside Red Light Lounge for about 1.5 hours, but here is my rating so far: + Plenty of seats and tables that weren’t for bottle service, so you are able to sit down if you find a vacant chair + Sound system was as good as you can make it for an outdoor rooftop patio setting + There is a water jug so you don’t have to keep bugging bartenders for water! :) + You can really get close to the rooftop DJ, as in, you can turn the turntable knobs if you wanted to. But don’t be rude, so don’t do that: P + You get a pretty good view of the Dallas skyline complimented by the nice warm patio lighting * I paid $ 15 cover to see Jai Wolf on 10÷3÷2015 * I did not need to use the restrooms, so I have no fair evaluation of that

I’ve been to Red Light several times. Awesome venue. Latest visit was for another of Lord Byron’s Panopticon nights with Son of Sam last night(Friday, 6÷12÷15). The highlight of the evening was Sami’s Summer Strawberry Surprise. Made with Tito’s vodka, strawberries, and some other secret ingredients, it was incredibly good. So good that I think I had three of them and everyone I was with ordered several too! If you’re at Red Light Lounge, ask for Sami and have her make you her strawberry vodka drink. You will not regret it. Sami should make pitchers of it. :-)

I had not been to any bar/club at this address until it became the Red Light Lounge. The owners’ impressive reputation is a big reason I continue to visit numerous times a month. It’s a laid back attitude with an upscale look. The roof deck with its view of downtown Dallas is terrific as well. All of the staff has been nothing but professional and courteous on each visit. They even have Lakewood Lager for a little variety for the beer snobs!

This is a great little club and exactly what Deep Ellum needed. It’s a small space perfectly for shouting at each other over the music, and if you want a little less music you can always go upstairs to the rooftop deck. The bartenders are outstanding and mix a little on the strong side. The nights start out slow and then through the course of the night it fills up nicely. They make it a point to have local beers here which is a nice change of pace. I’d highly recommend it.

I had my birthday party at Red Light in February and it was perfect. The venue let us book several DJs from the Guild(who now have a Thursday night residency at Red Light!) and they let me decorate the joint in keeping with my theme. The staff helped me set up before the club opened and handled cleanup for me after the party. My friends all came in costumes and filled the dancefloor & booths, but the open rooftop was a perfect spot for more intimate conversation(and smokers). I go to Red Light once or twice a month and I’ve honestly NEVER had anything less than an outstanding time. I saw the negative review another Unilocaler posted and felt an obligation to this venue and it’s staff to share my own very positive experiences with Red Light. If you are looking for a genuinely friendly joint in Deep Ellum where you can dance, socialize, drink $ 3 wells before 11, and probably get your picture taken by either NakedLens or the Dallas Observer(happens to me almost every time I’m there), I encourage you to visit Red Light.

I had my wedding party here this past Saturday and it was a blast! I had never thrown my own big party before and the venue helped out a lot with putting it together. The club manager came to the club the day before during their closed hours and allowed my mother and I to check out the venue and plan for the party the next day. They had just redone the landscaping on the top deck and it looked quite beautiful! I asked them if they could provide extra tables and seating and the club manager got me 5 banquet style tables at no charge. He also helped me decorate the day of the party! He set up the sound booth so I could play my 80’s playlist, set up lights, and even helped us take down the decorations at the end of the party. The view is lovely upstairs(where we had the party) and the staff was pleasant. Everyone had a spectacular time to say the least. I know a party is what you make it but the Red Light Lounge went above and beyond to help ensure everything went off without a hitch. Thanks, Red Light! You are lovely people.

Red Light is a small intimate club with a pretty good sound system and fun cocktails featuring Deep Eddy Vodka. It’s a small venue and can get pretty packed depending on the artist. There aren’t many clubs/lounges that have trance music come through so I was pretty excited to hear Red Light Lounge hosting Protoculture. It wasn’t very packed when we first arrived around 11 and by 12:30 the club was filled with people dancing. I was impressed with the clean up crew. They were quite efficient. It’s not a dress to impress type lounge-it’s a grungy relaxed bar. Depending on the line up– I see myself there again. P. S. If you’re a dude and you’re poop shy– drop your deuces at home because the toilet stalls are sans doors.

We booked my 50th birthday party here in the main bar. There was a miscommunication and we had to end early. When booking an event here be sure that all expectations and time limits are clearly understood by both parties. We ended up having fun on the roof and the space is very cool.

This has to be the worse bar in Deep Ellum and that’s saying a lot! They advertised a big Spring Fling and claimed to gave three special guest plus Djs up and down stairs. We arrived around midnight and paid the $ 5 cover only to walk into am empty bar! We stayed until almost 2am and in total there were only around 22 people in the whole bar including the staff. The bartender down stair was cute, but that’s about it! She was hired simply for her looks and not for her bar-tending skills… a current trend that’s hurting a lot of bars! I ordered a rum punch and she had to look up how to make it on her cell phone, then told me they didn’t have the ingredients. So, I asked for a couple other drinks… she didn’t know how to make them either. Then claimed to be out of everything that required her to actually make a drink. So, I asked for a draft beer… they don’t have draft beers!!! So, we headed up stairs and got yelled at by the upstairs bartender for daring to try to go to the restroom… it was our first time there we didn’t know they didn’t have separate men and women’s restrooms. The upstairs Dj was horrible and I don’t know how ant Dj can call themselves a Dj when they have a patio with around 11 people ignoring his set and looking bored as hell. We only stayed as long as we did because the downstairs Dj was awesome and my girlfriend wanted to dance… if they can’t attract a crowd on a Saturday night after advertising for a Spring Fling then this place won’t be around long… and there were no special guest to be found!!!

Venue: –has rooftop –washroom stalls have no doors thus no privacy –snug dancefloor with a few stools to sit in the back –mixed drinks are ~$ 8 Service: –the venue is kept clean throughout the night, empty drinks are tossed and any spills are cleaned up immediately Sound: –bring earplugs cause it can get a bit loud –the speakers appear small but packs a good punch Parking: –plenty of $ 5 parking lots nearby but actually finding a spot will be a challenge on a Fri/Sat night.

Went to Red Light for the official Grand Opening event with Green Velvet. Noticed how nice it was when we walked in. Liked the rooftop even more though! Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Wait times not very long for a busy night. Definitely look forward to going back!
