Love this place! The tuna salad is so yummy and the atmosphere and service makes for a very wonderful evening night out.

I finally tried the marshmallow soup on my latest visit and now I am kicking myself for all the opportunities that I’ve missed eating this delicious creation! It is a tomato-carrot soup with pesto and three small goat cheese soufflé(the marshmallows). I loved it so much that I will probably opt for this over the sweet soufflé for dessert in the future. The blue crab savory soufflé was amazing as always, it’s probably my favorite. I liked the pumpkin soufflé as well. The seasonal menu is always a great choice!

From the front door to the patio to the bathrooms, a totally, utterly, irresistibly adorable restaurant. Possibly the most charming eatery I’ve been to outside of Europe. The marshmallow soup is unique, delicious and the true standout of the meal. Both the savory and sweet soufflés we tried(the smoked salmon and the bread pudding) had wonderful texture but lacked substance, we felt, because there wasn’t a lot of noticeable«fillings»(the smoked salmon /raisin bread). It’s possible that adding more ingredients could weigh down the soufflé, but it does make the taste of egg slightly overpowering(not that I minded terribly). My husband also ordered the seared ahi tuna steak and seemed quite pleased with it. 4⁄5

This place is really as good as it gets. A perfectly romantic, intimate and fun place to go. The atmosphere is adorable — twinkle lights and trees, recycled glass cups and plates. Reminds me of cafes in France, which is understandable because it is a french restaurant. This place gives you all the feels. It’s like stepping into a fairytale wonderland. We went a few days ago for girls night out. My girlfriends ordered the marshmallow soup(which is actually goat cheese, made to look like marshmallows) to start. They raved about it! Next we went for dessert soufflés — including bread pudding, dark mint chocolate and strawberry. All were phenomenal. I had the dark mint chocolate and it was one of the best soufflés that i’ve had in Texas. The dessert soufflés are about 12 $ while the dinner soufflés are 15 – 20 $. Prices are reasonable, especially because they are made to order. They take about 30 – 35 min to bake, but they bring you bread to snack on while you wait. The bread was warm and fresh! It came with the cutest bread slicer as you can see from the pictures. These little details are what makes Rise so special. It’s truly a hidden gem in DFW. Ambience + Service + Food = 5 stars.

Romantically decorated spot with uninspiring food. Only reason for the 2 stars is 1) ambiance and 2) their marshmallow soup. This soup is literally the only tasty item on the entire menu. Oh, and the bread they give you isn’t bad. In addition to the marshmallow soup, we ordered Parisian Jumbon Sandwich which would have humiliated a hungry Parisian. It was reminiscent of a late night meal we’ve all improvised by preparing that yummy leftover bread and throwing some Sara Lee packaged lunch meat followed by pickles. And voila. They called that dinner. Then came dessert. Not that I was expecting anything remotely comparable to an authentic French soufflé, but again, this was just down right embarrassing. I mean, how could an allegedly French spot go so wrong with a Grand Marnier soufflé? It *looked* beautiful, but tasted like a soufflé that had been stored in the fridge for a couple of days and had completely dried out. Non, merci.

So I can now officially say I’ve had soufflé. This place makes for a pretty good date spot, open kitchen, exotic cheeses, semi-dark dining area… guys night out, maybe not so much. As far as the food is concerned, this is place is pretty tasty. Starting off with bread… the first thing you’ll notice is the apparatus you cut the bread with is the child of a paper cutter and a bread knife, some may think it’s pretty cool but others may be find it gimmicky. I started off with the marshmellow soup, this is a creamy tomato bisque served with 3 cheese mini-souffles(the marshmellows) finished with a drizzle of pesto. The soup is rich, hearty, and flavorful but the mini souffles add a fluffy, cheesy, textural component is pretty darn tasty. Soup aside, what these guys hang their hats on on are their souffles. My friend and I opted for the escargot, and the Chesapeake Bay Crab. The escargot was topped with a cheesy, and very garlicy soufflé… possibly to much for some. The escargot was cooked very nicely with a good chew but not tough. The Chesapeake Bay Crab tastes just like a crab cake, which for some may be great, but for me, I wish there were a bit more texture. Personally while I found the flavors to be good, it seemed a bit mushy, a crispy/more caramelized crust would have really pushed this over the top for me.

If souffles are your thing then rise n°1 is the place to go. Or if you like small, cute, romantic places this is also the place to go. I adore the decorations. Great ambience. It sure isn’t the place for a boy’s night out, maybe a tame girl’s night out. It’s ALMOST like stepping foot into a fairytale. I love the bread and butter! I’m a big bread and butter fan(who isn’t?) and rise n°1’s butter game is strong. Their bread is wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Plus the board they serve the bread on is rather cool. I got the herb and spicy sausage soufflé and I have no complaints. It was really light, airy, and the perfect portion size. I also tried my friend’s truffle infused mushroom soufflé and that was really good as well. We ended our meal with the bread pudding soufflé. I’m not a big dessert or sweet person but since I made the trek out here I thought I might as well try it. It was pretty on point, it wasn’t overly sweet and had really nice flavors. Service was great as well.

Rise No 1! Love it! They’re opening one in Houston, and I can’t wait for it to open! Rise No 1 is the only soufflé restaurant in the US currently. It came highly recommended by a friend… and it was everything I wanted it to be and more. George W Bush dines here too. so if it’s good enough for a President, it’s good enough for me. Definitely get the marshmallow soup. I hated goat cheese. I still loathe it… except in the marshmallow soup. I was really skeptical of the marshmallow soup and so unwilling to try the marshmallows… but it was love at first bite. The marshmallow soup is essentially a tomato & carrot bisque with goat cheese souffles. Rise No 1 has released a recipe book… but this marshmallow soup was not released. A lot of tomato bisques are too salty and you can’t eat too much at once… but there’s a perfect balance of flavors with this one. The marshmallows are soft and very easy to get spoonfuls of. I love the bread provided on a cutting board(guillotine style). The bread is served hot and crunchy with butter on the side. It’s so good! I think this place is perfect for a date, girl’s night out, or family dinner… basically it’s perfect for everything. Such a classy place. You can dress up or down — it really is a free-for-all casual hangout place. I like eating at the outdoor patio because it looks out into a nice high-end shopping plaza. On cold days, the patio is heated and sheltered from the wind. The inside is strung with lights and interesting objects. There’s so much attention to detail and making the atmosphere warm and unique. The inside is dim and strung with lights. I believe this place is also dog-friendly. Last time I came after lunch and wasn’t hungry. My friend and I each got a marshmallow soup and munched on the bread. The server was totally cool with the fact that we weren’t getting a full meal, so no pressures. It’s the perfect in-between meal hang out. Parking was always easy to find for me. While the outside looks like an unsuspecting humble abode, the atmosphere inside is quite charming. Service has always been attentive and food amazing. Servers are happy to go into the restaurant’s history and explain the dish exhaustively(short of telling us how it’s made). Give it a try, and you’ll be dreaming of marshmallows, too!

Finally made it to this place after bookmarked it for months and I was super impressed. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the deliciousness in the air, I really like the decoration/vibe of this place. The bread comes with a «guillotine board» to cut the bread which is fun. You can’t go wrong with any of the souffles, feels like you are eating air but you definitely get full from it. highly recommend the marshmallow soup as well!

First off let me say… I met George W Bush the night I came here!!! We didn’t make a reservation but luckily for us they were able to sit us at the bar area that overlooked the kitchen. When you get seated you get complimentary bread. We got the spinach soufflé and the crab soufflé. Both were really good and a lot more filling than I thought it would be. For desert we had the strawberry soufflé and the chocolate soufflé. With the desert soufflés you get a sauce on the side and the waiter makes a hole in the soufflé and pours the sauce in for you. The sauce makes the soufflé soooo good! The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the service was great. I loved coming here and hopefully when I come back I can meet someone else cool and famous

3 words you need to know here: Bread pudding soufflé. Rise No 1 is sweetly hidden like treasure in a plaza on W Lovers Lane. It was cold and dreary outside, but Rise No 1 was majorly cute and cozy with the Christmas string lights and colorful kitchen accessories inside. We came about 40 minutes before closing for dessert. They brought us to their warm, covered«outdoors» seating area. We asked for hot water, and the sweet waitress came back with a pot of water and poured us some into cute cups, and ordered the bread pudding soufflé. The cold in Dallas really activates my bladder muscles so I excused myself and went to the bathroom. Does anyone else love cute bathrooms like I do? There’s a cool shared sink + mirror area outside the single sex bathrooms. The towels and house soap were all lovely. Inside the woman’s room was sweet children’s art on the walls. The toilet was old school with the tank sitting way up high on the wall and a chain to pull to flush. Super weird, but it looked so cool. By then I was already oogling over the ambience, service, décor, and environment. Anyway, back to the food. 20 minutes later, our soufflé was brought freshly made from their kitchen. It was sooo good. Our waitress poured the cream on. There was so much rise to the soufflé(hence the name of the restaurant — it all made sense!!) Our soufflé soaked in the cream and we dug our spoons in… oh.my.jesus…soo amazing! It’s like I was eating a spoonful of heaven with every bite. Perfectly not too sweet, perfectly soft, just perfection. I WISH I COULDEATTHISEVERYDAY. The best soufflé we’ve had hands down :) !! Our waitress explained to us that it was only 240 calories also(sans cream). Great dessert for anyone watching themselves. At the end of the joyous evening, we paid, took another trip to the bathroom because it was that cool, explored the place a little more, played with a weird baby doll whose head spins to express its mood, and upon leaving, we were handed a life quote to think about. Sweet :) Would recommend? Absolutely! Too bad I live in California. Any trip to Texas would warrant a stop here though. Soo freaking good.

Such a cute, cozy and homey restaurant! I absolutely loved the all décor and interior of this place. From the beginning I was falling in love with this restaurant. I wanted to tell all my friends about it. However, as the time went on, I noticed little things here and there that kind of left me feeling a little disappointed. Service was a little slow for our taste, but since we were enjoying the atmosphere with beautiful lights, open kitchen and nice ambiance, the slow service didn’t bother us too much. When the food came out, it smelled delicious! We got the Truffle Infused Mushroom Soufflé and the Jambon & Gruyère Soufflé. I mean don’t get me wrong, the soufflé tasted really good. But for $ 20 a dish, it’s not as filling. We definitely had to try the dessert so we went with the bread pudding soufflé! It was really good but I honestly started getting tired of the same similar taste. I wish we didn’t get three souffles, too much eggs in one sitting. Haha I was full, but not the kind of satisfied feeling after eating a delicious meal. Food 4⁄5 Service 3⁄5 Atmosphere 5⁄5 I’ll definitely come back here and try some of the other stuff on the menu. All the flavors were delicate, delicious and delightful. But if you have a heavy and hungry appetite, don’t expect too much from here.

Wonderful meal in every possible way. Lovely details: woven French linen serviettes(also available for sale), oversized flatware with a nice weight, décor that is pleasingly subdue and relaxing. BUT, most important, is the fact that with a group of 12 diners every single dish was executed to delicious perfection. All the souffles were excellent and I enjoyed one of the best Salad Nicoise I’ve ever tasted. BRAVO, Rise certainly rises to the occasion.

Ahh I am so happy to be back in Dallas! What a great way to enjoy a nice dinner. Rise no1 is located in university park off Inwood/Lemmon. It’s a small place with a ton of neat decorations and small things for sale. They’ll start you off with bread and whipped butter. It comes or with a neat loaf cutter! I had to start out with the marshmallow soup which was amazing. Little cheese soufflés shaped like marshmallows in a carrot soup. So delicious, I licked my bowl clean. For my entrée I had the crab soufflé which was amazing. So flavorful and cooked perfectly! Not too heavy either. We ended the night by splitting the bread pudding soufflé, so delicious! The caramel was cooked to perfection and gave it just the right amount of sweetness. I can’t wait to come back and try the many other soufflés.

Really amazing experience! The inside and outside were really cute and I loved the table settings, the wine bottle filled with water and the quaint ambiance. Our waitress was amazing and it seemed like everything arrived at a perfect time. You order all of your courses at the beginning and it seems like they bring the next course at the perfect time! Don’t skimp on the wine list, it was really thorough. The marshmallow soup is a must have! Totally worth it and don’t skimp on the pesto! The ahi tuna is literally one of the best I’ve ever had. The crust and flavor on the tuna was amazing. The truffle mushroom soufflé was really good as well(maybe a little bit bland), but perfectly cooked. Next time, I’m definitely going to try a seafood one. Lastly, the bread pudding soufflé was to die for! Great place for a date and they even have a parking lot so no need for valet!

Everything wonderful in one place! Great place for date night, girls night, or any special occasion. I mean who doesn’t love a place dedicated to delicious souffles! The inside of Rise No 1 is is charming as can be. Every little detail was thought out and it reminds me of a cute European farm house. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well. The food is amazing! You will be greeted with fresh bread that can be cut with their nifty bread cutter(you will understand what I am talking about when you go). We typically get a side salad to share, two savory souffles, and a dessert soufflé to share. When in Rome right? Their souffles are all between 200 – 500 calories so you don’t even have to feel guilty about what you are about to indulge in. My favorites: the Cauliflower and Brie and my bf loves the Southwest Chicken. You have to splurge on a dessert soufflé, my favorite is the pumpkin. Warm delicious pumpkin inside with homemade whipped cream. Divine! If you haven’t been, you are missing out! One of my favorite spots in Dallas.

I was seated immediately upon walking in. The waiter gave me recommendations and was extremely knowledgeable about the various soufflés on the menu. I loved the warm bread and whipped butter on the cute cutting board! It was delicious! I wasn’t extremely hungry so I decided to just get the bread pudding soufflé. This was the first time I’ve ever tried soufflés. I loved how fluffy it was but I felt like it was a bit too gooey in the middle. The service was okay. My server took a while to take my order and I had to ask another server for my check at the end because my server wasn’t anywhere nearby. Other than that, I’ll definitely come back to try the savory soufflés in the future though.

Wow! That’s the first word that comes to mind as I write this review. I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time now, but was never sure if I wanted to waste a meal on eating a soufflé(I’m a girl that loves to eat). However, this past Friday night around 8pm, I found myself walking into Rise No 1 ready to explore their menu. I wish they offered reservations because it’s so much easier on weekend nights to have a locked in time. The good thing is that once we got there, we didn’t have to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seated. My fiancé and I started the night off with a bottle of their reasonably priced Beaujolais’. The wine was great and went perfect with the complimentary bread that was brought to our table. The bread was good, but nothing to write home about. Our waitress was nice, but to the point. I found it hard to believe that as she told us the specials and walked away, she left me wondering why she never mentioned anything about lobster, because it was the lobster soufflé that I was hoping to get to order. So, when our waitress got back to our table, I asked her if they were serving lobster, and she said she forgot to tell us that they also have a lobster soufflé, as well as a lobster salad as part of their specials. What a huge piece of the puzzle to forget to mention, eh? I wasn’t pleased with the lazy attitude our waitress had to say the least. We decided to start off with one order of the Marshmallow Soup for sharing. It was so nice for the kitchen to split the soup for us. We each got our own bowl and didn’t have to do any work, but eat. The soup was phenomenal. It was so warm, rich, and flavorful. I am not a fan of cheese in soup, but this was by far a soup that I would order again and again because it was that amazing. We then ordered two soufflés for us to share, which were the lobster and crab choices. Both the crab and the lobster were so wonderful that it’s hard to decide which was better. The crab soufflé was out of this world. The lobster soufflé wasn’t worth the $ 40 price tag in my opinion due to the portion size; however, it is definitely worth trying once. We were still a little hungry after we finished our meal, so the next time, we will also order a salad to go along with the soup and soufflés. Overall, I had a great experience here and I am definitely looking forward to visiting again!

When the directions to the restroom include«follow the lights to the Eiffel Tower, then take a left,» you know you’re in a special place! I learned about Rise No 1 from a friend of a friend and thought the idea of a restaurant specializing in soufflés sounded pretty cool. A friend of mine and I decided to try it for dinner on a Monday evening. Reservations are only taken for parties of five or more, but we didn’t need one. Rise No 1 is unassuming from the outside, with a unique, eclectic look. You can see their outdoor, covered seating along the side of the building. When you open the large, rustic wooden door, your environment is completely transformed. It’s dimly lit inside, and the dining room is separated by twinkle lights on tree branches, making for a magical, ethereal feel. The hostess immediately to our left greeted us and brought us to a table in the outside seating area. I was thinking we would not be able to sit outside due to the heat, but the outside seating is fully enclosed and air conditioned and accompanied by ceiling fans. At no time was I too warm! Our server was so sweet and informative. She brought us water while we decided on wine. Water at Rise No 1 is brought out in a reused wine bottle, with water glasses made from recycled wine bottles. Something about drinking from the glasses was so comforting — and they sell them here, I think I’ll buy some on my next visit. We were brought two rolls with a side of butter, and they were brought out on a little wooden tray with a guillotine-type chopper to slice the bread! It was fun, I enjoyed using it to cut my bread. They had a feature about rosé wines in their wine list, so we ordered the rosé wine flight to try them out. They ranged from very light to a deeper tasting rosé, and we selected the third wine in the flight(I don’t recall the name). It was a light wine, suitable for the summer. I had to ask about the marshmallow soup, which admittedly doesn’t sound so good. It is actually a tomato/carrot soup with goat cheese marshmallows. I had to try it, and it came with a cheesy twist on the side and the server asked if I would like it topped with pesto, which I did. It was like a light, creamy tomato soup, with a hint of carrot. The goat cheese marshmallows were good! After hearing the specials, my friend and I both decided on the crab soufflé. The lobster soufflé sounded good(although I’m not a fan of tarragon) but the $ 40 price was a little too rich for our blood. Our server advised the soufflés would take 20 – 25 minutes, but I swear it did not take that long for them to come out. The crab soufflé was pretty good, although I feel like something was missing to give it a kick it needed. It was a really mild flavor. Next time I will probably try the mushroom soufflé, unless there’s an awesome seasonal special. Finally, it was time for dessert, the real reason we came! I ordered the bread pudding soufflé and my friend ordered the chocolate. Bread pudding soufflé was made with rum raisin bread, but I did not find any raisins in mine, which I was glad for, and it came topped with a caramel sauce. It was accompanied with a rum flavored crème anglaise, which I found to taste overly of alcohol, so I did not use it. The caramel sauce was delicious, I should have asked for more of it. The bread pudding soufflé was light, airy and very flavorful, but not too sweet. I tried the chocolate soufflé and it was overwhelmingly chocolate to me, but my friend really enjoyed it. If there’s any tip to be had here, it’s to allow your food to cool. It all came out piping hot that my impatience caused me to burn my tongue just a bit! After our meal, we were not stuffed or uncomfortably full, I’m sure due to the light, airiness of the soufflés! So, back to my trip to the restroom — that area is so well thought-out and adorable. They have chain toilets(pull the chain to flush) and you might look for the sink for a minute on your way out, but don’t worry, it’s there. It looks just like a flat slab that you would not necessarily know was a sink, except there’s directions on where to place your hands for the water. No paper towels here, but small squares of french towels! And there are bins on either side of the sink to place your used towel — don’t worry, you aren’t throwing it away! The whole feel of this place is magical and eclectic, they have a selection of towels, glasses and other items in the french theme for purchase if you want to bring a little piece of Rise No 1 home with you!

Why have I lived in Dallas all my life and only just discovered Rise No 1? I went with a friend and we were seated in the part of the restaurant with windows, definitely recommend sitting here, if you’re eating lunch the sunlight is perfect and you’ll get the perfect picture of your soufflé. The bread/baguette cutter is very unique and made for a fun starting point for out meal. We only ordered a dessert soufflé and the server recommended the bread pudding soufflé. It was everything she promised and more. The inside was warm and buttery and the sauce that came with it reminded me of the butter rum sauce that usually comes with bread puddings. The service is great and the souffles even better. My only warning would be to watch out for a bird at the entrance of the restaurant. There’s a tree very close to the entrance and I was attacked by this bird who I assume had a nest in the tree. After being attacked I stood off the side and watched it attack other women who had their hair blowing in the wind or up in a bun. Other than that the meal was worth getting attacked, and I would risk my life again to get a soufflé from here.
