Rumors Bar & Grill

IF you are looking for down home good folks and you can forget any preconceived ideas of what you «heard» about bars in Oak Cliff then you can come hangout at Rumors. It’s not fancy, not a hot spot in uptown but located on Camp Wisdom with decent bar tenders and a cook that is making French fries from a whole potato like granny used to make.
If you are looking for swing out dance lessons with good instructors then you can find them here. Dwayne and James are awesome teachers and the regulars are good teachers too. I literally come at 6pm to dance and eat and I am home by 9 on a Sunday night.
NOW they do have a time where they play typical club music if you don’t swing but I am sure it’s no different.
If you are uppity and «bougie» please don’t come mess up the good vibe during swing out.
Oh and they age range is about 35 ++++

Omg… I had a great time. It was my sister’s 35^th birthday. I was wowed by décor of the nightclub. The food was wonderful (and cheap). We had chicken, meatballs, shrimp cocktail, fruit & veggie tray!!! It was free to get in & the dj was banging. Thursday is swing out night… I learned 2 NEW LINE DANCES.

I went here for the first time March 22, 2014 (a Saturday) for my cuzn’s 40^th. Walking in I saw that it had 3 sections excellent for throwing separate parties in the same area. We went around 7:30pm so there was no charge. They’re two bars also with good drinks that aren’t overpriced. The staff is real cool; managers included. We sat in a roped-​off white leather V.I.P. area that included the DJ booth adjacent to the dance floor. Her entire party couldn’t quite fit in there but it was cool. The food was also inside the V.I.P. area. The DJ’s rotated and jammed hip-​hop (old/​new) with occasional R & B and there was «hype-​man» that walked around with a mic that kept the crowd pumped which was fun. Our waitress was very attentive as well as the food servers. My ONLY drawback is that it’s hot as hell inside! It was cooler outside! there was absolutely no circulation in there. Lol I guess they want to make sure you LOOK like you partied your butt off! IF i ever return it will be because I’ve heard they have excellent live bands on Friday’s AND to look at the security guy (Big E) cause he’s definite eye candy plus he’s cool/​nice. Hummmm Rumors… what”s up with the AC?
PROS: set-​up, management, staff, music, food, fine ass security guy ;-)
