I can’t say enough great things about this salon. Mena (the owner) is wonderful and always seems to fit me in and do a fabulous job. After spending more than twice as much in the past at a «top salon» near uptown, I would never go back. My color (base, low lights AND highlights) is always perfect and the whole group of ladies who work here are wonderful. The location is not fancy, but who wants to pay over $ 100 more to subsidize rent! So happy to have found SALON SHIMA and have been a happy customer for almost 7 years.

I recommend this place but not everyone knows what they are doing. The receptionist is really rude, and it’s almost impossible to make an appointment. BUT I highly recommend asking for Negar, her eye brow work is amazing and her hair job is beautiful. I’ve been going to her and only her every single time I go this salon, I have tried couple other ladies there too but some of them shouldn’t even be licensed to do anything on people’s face or hair.

I’ve been looking for a place to get my eyebrows threaded for two years and I was not satisfied with others that I tried. Finally, a friend introduced Negar to me. she did a great job!!! I will definitely recommend her.

I have been getting highlights and cuts at Salon Shima for 10+ years. Mena did my hair for 6 years then I switched over to Tammy. Tammy not only does an incredible color, cut and blow dry but is also sweet and down to earth. She remembers every detail of your life.
I have never had a problem getting an appointment. I do recommend scheduling in advance. The salon is very busy especially on weekends.
I strongly recommend Tammy.

They have a sign on the door that says walkins welcome yet when you walk in you get an annoyed sounding «what do you want?» I asked about threading and had to repeat myself 3 times because they couldn’t hear me since they didnt want to walk away from their chair or turn off the loud hair dryer. I tried it out despite what was going to be obvious bad customer service and they charged me $ 20 for eyebrows! !! Seriously 20 bucks for threading is insane!

When I go to a salon I like to feel relaxed. At this place I was not! Clutter everywhere, I wasn’t allowed to cross my legs by the girl cutting my hair. Not even at the ankles. And due to all of the stylist personal belongings everywhere I wasn’t even allowed to place my cup of water anywhere. So I didn’t get to enjoy my cup full of hair. :(However I did get to enjoy the conversations the stylist was having on her cell as she was cutting my hair. Now about the cut. One side looks great! The other side, not! However it was only $ 40. Pffft… never again!

Definitely the place to go for cut/​style, color, eyelashes, and threading. The women working here are amazing! I had Sheva, and she did a fabulous job with my highlighting and cut. She was very detailed in her work — she spent 3 hrs making my hair look amazing. Mena, the owner, was also there, and she’s such a nice lady and did a great job on everyone that I saw.
Prices were phenomenal…$ 100 for cut, color, shampoo and style (3 hrs). Only downfall for me was the amount of time that I spent in the salon. I’m hoping this was because it was my first time there… but I definitely plan to go back, and would recommend this place to anyone!

Salon Shima is a hidden treasure in Dallas. A friend referred me to this salon when I first moved to Dallas. So far, I have been twice and both times have received excellent haircuts and colors. Mena, the owner, is amazing! I will continue to refer everyone I know to this salon. The best part… it’s reasonably priced.
