I HEARD their pizza was really good. Called to place an order for delivery and even though the lady on the phone was short with me, I went forward with the order. Then, about 5 minutes later she called back and said they couldn’t deliver the pizza because it was out of their delivery zone. A few weeks later I noticed a charge from Sal’s on my bank account. I called Sal’s several times but the manager was never in-store to handle my issue. I finally got a hold of him this week. He said there was no such charge and that I just needed to call and dispute it with my bank. I’ve been on the phone with the bank now for 30 minutes to file a dispute and they have confirmed that they definitely charged me. Frustrating that Sal’s could not care less about charging me for something I didn’t receive and losing a potentially loyal customer.

2nd we’ve been in recently. It’s a long wait for pickup and services. I’d recommend that the guy in the blue shirt get off his phone and help the girl swamped with calls… at least he wasn’t slamming pizza oven doors tonight.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here. We like to try new pizza around DFW. The crust wasn’t great and it was kind of soggy, the sauce was also just okay. The service was decent and it looks like a fun place to hang out. We probably won’t order again from there though.

A very good family run Pizza and Pasta place on the edge of Oak Lawn and the edge of the hospital district and the edge of a kinda sketchy area. Ended up here as an alternative to Rodeo Goat which was packed a mile or two away. Glad we chose Sal’s as our first alternate. All in all, with some reservation, we all liked Sal’s. The 4* is based on, Pizza — A nicely cooked crust with good stringy cheese. Crust had great texture but, it lacked in flavor. Some of us kinda like chewing on the crust«ends» and there wasn’t much to them. Ingredients were good and abundant. All in all the pizza experience a tad under 4*. However, Pasta — dishes rocked. Both Chicken and 2 Eggplant Parmigiana were successes. Red sauce had a nice subtle undertone. Not real garlicky and a bit on the sweet side. Very old school, probably used a good bit of paste. The Lasagna was also praised by the veteran Lasagna eater. House salads were both fine. Bread was an afterthought, neither added or detracted from the star rating. Service was good and got the job done on a hectic Saturday evening, not much more one could ask for.

Late night pizza — restraunt was not in a rush or packed and the pizza we take-out was not even cut ! I would hope this is not the regular @ this place but it was definitely a let down… we had no way to cut our pizza and had to tear it… I finally got tired of dealing with it and we gave up …

Best pizza in Dallas. Brick oven fired, crispy crust deliciousness! Large slices, and a wonderful staff! All of the whining people in Dallas who keep crying there’s no New York pizza… aren’t gonna be happy here either, because they are never happy… but if you want to be reminded of what really good pizza looks like… here’s your place! Clearly a hidden secret gem of Dallas! 5STARS

Pizza is good but rude customer service every time you walk in the restaurant, which I believe is from the male manager. Today, I got a rotten salad with my entrée, lettuce is completely brown and they put ONE black olive in the salad. I definitely would have gotten sick if I ate that. How could anyone serve this to their customers?

I’ve ordered from this place for a long time but no more. The last 3 times I’ve ordered have been over an hour to deliver and have showed up cold. Also, they don’t watch the pizza as its in the oven and it winds up with giant spots where it bubbles up and all the toppings slide off and the remaining crust burns. Today I ordered a pizza, a dessert and a Dr Pepper. The driver called at about 1 hour after I ordered and said he was coming up. 15 minutes later he shows up with no Dr Pepper and no way to make change. I complained to him that I was unhappy with the service I received and he said to call the manager. So I did. All he did was say sorry about that. I explained that I’ve been ordering for a long time and he said again«sorry about that,» with no offer to make it better or to look into it. So Sal’s Pizza, you’ve lost a customer that orders several times a month from you because your employees don’t give a damn.

I was hungry and pulled in here on a whim. Drawn in by the sushi sign next door but immediately picked pizza instead. That’s how I choose to spend my hard earned $ when I get paid… Got 2 slices to go after realizing I had still lots of work to do at 8pm. Pepperoni and mushroom. 30 min later, back behind my desk, I opened up to a little slice of heaven. New York style pizza! Both slices full of their respective toppings. Pepperoni reminded me of Difara’s in Brooklyn… I was happy. Crust a bit burnt, but not a big deal because I’m sure my waistline could benefit from not eating so much anyways. The restaurant was clearly full of old timers up for some fun conversation as they watched the Cowboys Redskins game(we won!). Fun fun fun. Seemed like a great place to chill and eat.

Im a vegetarian and normally you just can’t go wrong with pizza but this place was awful. I ordered a small vegetable pizza and it cost like $ 16 or $ 17. There wasn’t very much cheese, veggies, or sauce on the pizza. They did however put a TON of mushy canned spinach on it. Anywhere else I get just a few spinach leaves so this was pretty disappointing. The dough was undercooked and after scooping all the spinach off the pizza there was really nothing left to it. Threw the whole thing away.

My supervisor ordered Sal’s Pizza for our department on Thursday. The slices and pies were HUGE! We had 12 people and three pizzas fed all of us & we each had more than one slice. Portion wise, this was definitely worth it. Sal’s loves their olives. I mean they have a romantic relationship with them because they were caked on our slices. My my favorite. But for an olive lover, this should be your spot. I enjoyed my lunch but I have had better pizza in the DFW area. This was good. I would come back, but it wouldn’t make my top five list.

AVERAGEJOEPIZZA. My first slice of Sal’s began at my workplace, which is catered by monthly by Sal’s. Upon first impression, the pizza looks like your typical pizza: average-looking toppings, crisp and chewy dough, and crust that looks like breadsticks. It looks like the pizza that you’ve seen countless of times, the reliable pizza that mom bought for your birthday party or your friends brought to the Super Bowl party. But enough of what this pizza reminds you of, lets talk about the taste. The Food: SIMPLETASTE. Margherita Pizza Margherita Pizza: A simple tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese and a little bit of basil. The mozzarella is sweet and melty, as it should be in a Margherita pizza. There is only a small portion of basil, which doesn’t provide a lot of the nice refreshing, minty flavor(–1 star). The tomato sauce gets stuck in the background and you don’t really taste or distinguish it: can’t really taste any spices or herbs that enhance the sauce or pizza(–1 star). The crust is chewy, but pretty average. I didn’t like that the crust had no sauce, no topping, no flavor, and no character(–1 star). I think a breadstick has more flavor and pizza should take advantage of the crust; otherwise, what is the point of buying a pizza where you enjoy 75% of it? I like crust, but only if the pizza maker gives it some taste or texture. This crust is lacking, the kind of pizza crust that you just toss in the trash. And that is what I did, toss their crust into the trash. The Verdict: NOTNYPIZZA, JUSTAVERAGEPIZZA. This is the pizza to fill you up when you are hungry, BUT not it you are looking for bold, fresh, and exciting tastes and flavors. If you like plain crust, this pizza has it. Honestly, I would skip the pizza and try their other Italian dishes. But if you are looking for an average pizza and aren’t near a Dominos or Pizza Hut, this may be your pizza.

This is the only restaurant my parents brought my siblings and I while growing up. I’ve always loved their food especially their stromboli pizzas. However, this past year my pizza wasn’t so good. For my birthday, I always get pizza from Sal’s and I was disappointed this past year. My stromboli was practically empty so my mom traded half of her stromboli with me. I’m not sure if they did it on purpose or what. I didn’t find it funny and it bothers me that I was looking forward to eating it and it soured my evening. I’m not sure it I’ll get my food from there this year for my birthday.

I was highly impressed with this little joint right on the other side of the tollroad! It’s not too hard to miss in its strip– right before maple! We ordered the chicken fettuccini and a small pizza. The pasta dish comes with bread and salad… Salad only consisted of one tomato and salad mix. We tried the house dressing as the tip suggested here, NOT a fan. It was a weird sweet tangy pink/red sauce. However, the fettuccini was so thick and creamy and amazing I will be back for take out for that! Pizza was good too! Tasted very fresh. Watch out about toppings, they add up quick $$!!

Pizza was awful. Definitely not«New York style». Weird crust, undercooked and cheap quality veggies. I really wanted to like it :( Also my beer was flat! Should have gone to Kroger and bought a frozen pizza and craft beer= 15 $ I wanted to try other dishes but not sure I want to go back.

For a restaurant so close I was surprised it took me so long to actually go and make a visit. Just a walk down from the apartment, it’s located in the odd strip that also contains a sushi restaurant, a dentist, and a dance club. Sal’s is a neat little family-owned business that usually seems pretty lively. They feature a decent menu of pastas, but I ordered pizza because of its name. There was only one real size for me: giant. About 15 minutes later, out comes this massive piece of crust, cheese and meat. The food all tasted pretty fresh and provided pretty reasonably value. I’d previously ordered calzones that were unreasonably as well that served more than satisfactory. Considering how close they are, I’ll most likely be back.
