It was a special store in it’s day, it’s now a tired grocer

They stopped carrying that cereal. No sign of it for a month, and they took the sign down. Replaced it with… wtf…Wheetabix?!? I’m sorry. No. Simon David, our time together is over. I wish I could say it’s been nice, but really, I was just using you for your cereal.

This is a neighborhood grocery with most everything I need for the standard trip to the store or for those times when you need to get a few things quickly. The store size is about average if you lived in any other city, but impossibly cramped by Dallas supermarket standards. Still, I can find about anything I need within reason. The problem is that the checkout area is horribly cramped if more than 2 people are in any given checkout line. The parking lot tells the story. This location is really on the edge. On one hand, you encounter several high-end European vehicles, yet you will also see some old time cruisers owned by the folks who live just west towards Love Field. Makes for a cool mix of customers. Everything from the woman with big hair on the cell phone, oblivious to anyone around her, to the little old lady carefully choosing her string beans at the produce counter. I’m the one grabbing baguettes, Roma tomatoes and garlic for my pasta sauce and fresh flowers for the center of the table.
