This place is DISGUSTING. PLEASE, read this before eating: they have been seen by MULTIPLE mosaic residents and employees using the restroom in the lobby and NOT washing their hands and then returning to the restaurant and preparing food. They leave the ranch dressing and salsa out over night, not refrigerated, and microwave food(chips) from the day before. I’ve lived at the mosaic for 3 years and have seen so mNy disgusting things from this restaurant. They also degrade women. Whistling and hollering obscenities. Don’t support this disgusting place. Also they only pay like $ 400 a month for that spot so they are ridiculously over charging your for crazy burritos. Don’t give them your money

Truly a hole in the wall magnificent find. I had the giant burrito with ground beef and it was delicious. The salsa was definitely living up to its name as hot. The people working were all super friendly too!

This is a hole in a wall restaurant. Under that category, I believe they are truly 5 stars. It’s not fancy and smiles aren’t rosy, but they do make really good tacos and bomb fresh homemade salsa. I could have drank the salsa alone! I actually think I did. Like other reviewers said, chips and salsa come with your taco order. The place overall is inexpensive and open until like 3 a.m., so it’s always a good option. The have a TV, but the picture shows intermittently. Eh. I ordered a steak fajita and a brisket taco and I highly recommend the brisket tacos. The meat was nice and tender with the great smoked taste and Mexican flair. Hello Tex Mex. Pass on the giant burrito. Stop by here for good cheap grub if you’re hungry and not looking for anything fancy in the slightest. This isn’t for your out of town guests that want to be impressed by Dallas.

If you are looking for some late night quick taco bites in downtown, this is the place! the food is pretty good but the staff is not the friendliest. I really like their hot sauce(Green). Just like its name, good drunken food

Giving one star purely to weigh the rating down further after my 2nd needlessly negative experience here. The food used to taste pretty good, so in a vacuum I would give a 2 star rating. I have actually come here a lot over the last 6 years, but today was the last time. The issue was the exact same thing that happened to me last time I came here — I ordered the burrito($ 7.99), the cashier said«Guacamole and sour cream?»(I had to get confused over a couple of receipts to figure out guacamole and sour cream cost an extra couple bucks, and they don’t put this on the menu or mention that to you when they ask if you want it or ring you up for it), I said«No,» and then he asks me for $ 10 for an $ 8 burrito and I notice there are extras on the receipt as it prints. Then I have to tell him, «I said ‘No,’» Today I even joked«I know that sounds a lot like yes…» to try and add some levity to the fact that this is an irritating scenario happening to me for the 2nd time at the same place. But he begrudgingly tried to figure out how to refund me, then gave me a $ 1.25 cash back. All the cordiality of the transaction flew out the window — no «thanks» after paying what is still a high mark-up for a couple of ingredients rolled together. Protocol at Taco Borracho is they’re supposed to give you chips and salsa after you order and wait for your entrée. The cashier, visibly cold towards me, started taking the order of the next people in line, then tossed a bag of chips a few inches in my direction halfway through taking the next peoples’ order(I had to ask for the salsa on my way out). He then walked over to the cooks and tells them something low key. On the surface it looks like he has to tell them to nix the guacamole and sour cream he put on the order. Maybe that’s what it was. But the three men kept glancing over at me as they talked, as if they were talking shit about me or conspiring to do something unsavory to my food. I made sure to face the grill the whole time they prepared my food, and the cook kept an eye on me like he was waiting for me to turn around so he could sprinkle some pubes in or something. All because they screwed up my order because they have this ridiculous method of upselling you on your purchase without your knowledge or full consent and I called them on it. Totally bad experience. I wanted to just up and walk out the whole time they were making my burrito but they had already charged me. The cashier probably would have pulled out a gun and shot me if I asked for a full refund.

Worst tacos in Dallas! Terrible service and terrible food. The tacos are unbearably dry. The chicken and steak tasted like spicy rubber. Chips are stale. All in all, their food tasted old. I would give them no stars if I could.

They have good fish Tacos on corn tortillas. I like the fish and shrimp tacos. Go before noon or you will be standing in a line of 10 folks(it moves fast). The place is small and seating is maybe for 14 people(4 – 5 tables) so takeout is recommended. 11:30am is ideal for an early lunch.

Yes, maybe not the most friendly place in town but the food is spectacular — do the brisket tacos and you will be hooked

A breakfast taco place close to my apartment downtown seemed unlikely to be stellar. It doesn’t have to be really, with plenty of office worker and metro train passengers needing a quick filling snack in between appointments and travel destinations. A $ 2 breakfast taco somehow didn’t seem a bargain, but perhaps that was my hunch of the quality. I ordered the 3 taco combo for around $ 6 and $ 1 extra for a drink. I ordered one medium salsa and two salsa verdes and was charged .25 cents. He gave me back fifty one cents and when I requested the proper change the cashier appeared to grimace. I asked for one of my 3 tacos to be bean and egg taco but just got beans. Tortillas weren’t really hot and the filings seemed small for an almost $ 10 ticket item. Lifeless and inspired are some other words that come to mind. But the salsa verde was delicious. Train views on the homeless touched picnic tables outside has a potential to be quaint.

Pretty new to downtown. SO happy I discovered this place. Open pretty late. Great for evenings where I’ve procrastinated on dinner and can walk over. The chicken quesadillas are my favorite. The chicken is cooked well and has great flavor. Don’t judge me but I dip them in ranch and it makes me happy ha. The staff is always friendly as well. Huge plus in my book.

Well since I’ve lived at the Mosaic of course I’ve had Taco Borracho plenty of times :) I love it and you will never get enough of it. The price is pretty reasonable and its not bad at all. They also open till 3am over the weekend. Must try!

Taco Borracho gets a huge thumbs up from me! I just started going back to this restaurant and wondering why I’ve been away so long. I had breakfast for the first time: pancake platter with bacon. The pancakes are huge & fluffy! Seriously, if you don’t have a big appetite it would be best to share and just eat one pancake. The bacon was so crispy and flavorful. My buddy loves the breakfast tacos so they are next on my list to try. For lunch, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite tacos are the brisket, I believe they marinate the brisket for 48 hours. Quesadillas are good and full of tour choice of protein and cheese, they are generous. If you can handle a half pound burger, get the half & half burger. It’s not on the menu so just ask for it. It’s half brisket, half ground beef, and 100% delicious. Again, if you’re not that hungry share or save some for later. The line moves pretty fast so don’t fret if it appears to be an endless line. Of course noon is the busiest time. I’ve walked by at around 12:30 and it wasn’t too bad. It’s small so your best bet is to grab a seat outside. I heard the bldg management would not agree to their expansion plan and that’s just sad. Give them a try! If the owner is there, you are sure get a good laugh.

OK, so you don’t have many choices when it comes to finding Unilocal-worthy food in Downtown Dallas at 1:30AM. Taco Borracho is fine, but unfortunately I also experienced the rudeness that has been mentioned repeatedly on their Unilocal profile. The«chef» cut my aluminum-foil-wrapped Giant Burrito($ 8) with a serrated knife. This equals more than a dozen shards of aluminum foil stuck in the exposed burrito cut. I said something to the chef about it and he pretended to not understand English and just shook his head«No» and he knew that it was unlikely I’d have him remake it out of fear of saliva or swamp-ass retaliation so I patiently picked out all of the metal in my food, ate the burrito, and said«Have a nice night.» They have you by the huevos here. There just aren’t many quality food options open this late on a Saturday night in Downtown Dallas. Living in Las Vegas has spoiled me to 24hr bits. To be fair(and that’s why I’m going 3-stars with this one), the Giant Burrito w/steak was delicious, and the secret Habanero salsa is potent and fresh. Just ask them to NOT cut the burrito in half, ’cause they’ll f*ck it up and they won’t be accountable.

Was in Dallas for work, limited in lunch options to what was walking distance from my hotel room. Ended up stopping in here and was glad I did. The tacos are cheap($ 2.75 each) with a lot of meat options, as well as platter options with rice and beans. They also include your choice of salsa(mild, medium and hot– the hot was reaaally good!) For a quick lunch, this place ticks all the boxes for me. The line can get pretty long, but the service is fast, and there seemed to be enough seating although the place was small, there is overflow seating on some picnic benches outside. While others mentioned the service was lacking, I found the staff to be friendly enough. Ended up bringing my group back the next day and everyone in my group really enjoyed it as well!

You don’t come for the ambiance or the friendliness of the staff. They are efficient but relatively short with everyone. But the tacos are outstanding. Their breakfast tacos are out of this world. At lunch the steak or barbacoa are the ones to get. The chicken is good but not stellar. The downside is they do get busy! If they get a big call-in order you can get turned away for 20 – 30 minutes.

The borracho vato behind the register is far from pleasant. This guy stares at customers with this ‘get the f’ out of here’ expression not saying a word. There is no reason to be a tuff guy while providing customer service give me a break. I ordered 3 breakfast tacos(1 bean and cheese, 2 huevos rancheros). They use whole pinto beans in tacos and these beans were refrigerator cold. I did not request the extra extra onions in the egg tacos that made every bite feel like a crunchy raw onion taco. Out of the 3 tacos 2 of them ended up in the trash where they belong. See the picture I added of the pathetic cold bean and extra raw onion tacos they serve. Thank you Andrew H. for enlightening us all with your review. Give them 5 stars then acknowledges service is «short», ambiance is lacking and Taco Borracho has to deal with large orders so no tacos for 20 – 30 min. I was wondered how a place with poor service and inconsistent food quality has a overall 4 star rating.

Chuck! Your crew is running off your customers! I’ve been coming here at least once a week for the past year or so. Your new crews customer service is terrible, they obviously don’t share your passion for the restaurant. The guy with the rosary tattoo standing behind the register just stood there as I approached the counter. I had to start the conversation by asking«how you doing?». No chips had been bagged near the counter, like usual. I placed my order, he gave the cook the order, I asked for chips(usually given to me at this point). He heard me but did and said nothing. I proceed to sit down as my buddy behind me placed his order. I then went back up to the counter and asked for the chips, he acted all put out(rude) like he had other things to do. It’s my choice where I decide to have lunch… I’ll be taking my business across the street to Miguel’s for awhile. Im gonna miss those brisket tacos and green hot sauce. See ya later.
