The Fitting Room

This is not a review on the work because I’m sure they do a good job but it more a review on their pricing and value. I wanted to a have a tuxedo altered for my wedding and was quoted over $ 300 for it. And no they didn’t have to bring the shoulders in, I got everything they described and more for half the cost at another reputable tailor.

This is a far overdue review. Bea is incredible. In 2013, she redesigned and tailored my mother’s wedding dress into a modern, interesting dress I wore to a shower and she also tailored my wedding dress to fit me perfectly. Her space is lovely, with spacious fitting rooms and well run appointment times. Her work is exquisite and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Thank you Bea!

Terrific tailor. They took my off the rack tuxedo and turned it into a perfectly trim custom fitting suit. As another reviewer wrote, it’s not cheap… But the money is well worth it for the top notch work. Another plus was the quick turnaround time from when I got fitted until it was ready to pick up.

When I had, with serendipity, said ‘Yes to THE dress”* over a year ago while at a work conference down in ATX (*found dress at Blue Bridal Boutique), I knew I had plenty of time to research for a reputable seamstress in Dallas to alter my size 10 sample sale dress.
Months later, I began my initial research on Unilocal.Here is where I found The Fitting Room (TFR), among a few other tailoring shops that were carefully vetted.
Even though TFR is pricey compared to the others, you are going to get your monies worth with Bea Harper.
I chose this place not only because of superior quality in craftsmanship and attention to detail, but because of the convenient location (directly across from Wholefoods on Lemmon). The shop is merely a short distance from my office and I could make 3 or 4 trips for fittings during the middle of the week. Overall, scheduling my time during the week made my weekend schedule more flexible. If I had gone with the other stores, I would have wasted too much on time and gas.
After working with her, I have to frankly say, Bea lives up to her reputation.
To echo the other Unilocal Reviews, she is a delight to work with; extremely professional, detail-​oriented, and efficient. Her tailoring team is also top-​notch too. There is a really sweet Vietnamese tailor who has been with her for over 10+ years. They seamlessly collaborated in making my dress exquisitely fit my petite frame.
I hope to come back again and get future tailoring done at the Fitting Room.
If you’re nervous about your gorgeous gown getting chopped up and pulled apart like I was, spend the extra money to get your dress done right and sleep worry free. Go to Bea Harper’s lovely shop, The Fitting Room. You «sew» won’t regret it!

Definitely not cheap, but worth every penny. They altered my wedding suit, and can honestly say it’s the first suit I’ve ever really enjoyed wearing since it fits so well! Good work!

I brought a size 10 sample sale wedding dress here and Bea not only altered it perfectly to fit my size 2 body, but she did so quickly and professionally. She also designed a short pencil skirt for the reception that is better than anything I could have found elsewhere. I feel like Bea really took time to understand my tastes and style. It is clear that she loves what she does and takes pride in doing it well. I will post pictures after the wedding.
Also, they have a cute boutique in the front of the store. I didn’t buy anything when I was in, but I will go back from time to time, especially if I’m looking for a gift.

I had a terrible experience with the alterations of my wedding gown at the store where I purchased it. The dress did not fit properly at all after several fittings. The alteration person was extremely rude and and unwilling to do the simple things I asked.
I finally decided to look elsewhere for help. From a Google search, I found Bea at the Fitting Room and my problems were solved. From the moment you step into the store, you are treated with respect. The level of professionalism I experienced was profound. Bea visited with me about my expectations and then she went to work. She looked over every inch of my dress and explained in detail what she thought needed to be done. My experience was amazing!!! I knew that finally I was going to get the help I needed. My wedding gown was perfect!

I brought my wedding dress here for alterations, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience or be happier with the end result. Bea Harper truly is a master of her craft and she has a great demeanor for working with brides. In fact, everyone at The Fitting Room was helpful and friendly.
Scheduling appointments was easy, the fittings were great, and the work was impeccable. Bea even repaired my veil at the final fitting when she noticed an issue with the edging — no detail overlooked! They also did a wonderful job fitting my mother’s dress for the wedding. Bea Harper does an impeccable job of fitting your wedding dress to form your body beautifully. My friend went to her and the attention to detail that the team demonstrated was amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. You get what you pay for here for sure. Also, while I was waiting for my friend to be fitted I did some fun shopping in her store. They have gorgeous jewelry that is hand made and just to die for! I highly recommend coming here for any of your alteration or custom apparel needs or if you just want some fun jewelry/​accessories!
