Just went in for the first time an hour ago and was blown away! Best kolache I have had in Dallas!

I work across the street and get breakfast here almost everyday. The kolaches and pastries are delicious, good sizes, and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend trying if you’re in the area!

UPDATE: The owner responded to my review. He apologized and explained the situation without making it into an excuse. He also offered two free drinks for our next visit. We will certainly be giving this place another try. I really appreciate his responses Such a strange experience. My girlfriend was real excited to see a shop that sold these little ball of delights. We ordered a veggie, sausage and sausage with cheese along with two sweet ones. While the food was not authentic, it was good. My issue I had was with the service. A coffee was ordered with a shot of espresso. The coffee cup was given to my girl who was to serve herself. No problem except for the fact that the coffee pot was empty. It was brought to the attention of the counter worker who came from the behind the counter and grabbed it. We assumed she would be making more coffee because well, ITWASEMPTY. We are out food and waited and waited and waited. No coffee get came back out. My girl asked out the coffee and was asked«oh, you wanted more?» We snickered in disbelief and decided to leave. What a waste of $ 9.00. Customer service goes along way folks.

Stopped in because I was driving by and checked Unilocal.Very clean and tidy inside. They have about a dozen different varieties of kolaches and then about 6 flavors of the sweet pastry version. Very tasty and worth every penny(at roughly $ 1−2/each) and filling. Now I could have eaten several, but saved the others for later. Glad there is a yummy kolache place nearby.

I really liked the cream cheese kolache, the dough could be modified a bit for more authenticity. I also tried two of the savory kolaches, spinach & chicken and chipotle chicken. I was just happy to see non-pork options there were even options for vegetarians. I just can’t be made at that. Give them a try.

Delicious! Authentic! Serves real kolaches and klobasneks! Everywhere else is practically a joke with their idea of a kolache being a klobasnek! IT’S BACKWARDS! LOL! These guys hit the mark! Good quality meat and the ingredients are very fresh. Love their philly cheesesteak and veggie delight klobasnek!

Love this place! Service is very friendly and the store is nice and clean. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a kolache + coffee with some peace and quiet. I ordered a few dozen for a baby shower and they really enjoyed the kolaches. I’ve tried a few things here and enjoyed everything. The sausage has a nice kick to it — I’m thinking it’s the black pepper. If you don’t like kolaches or don’t eat meat, their fruit pastries are absolutely delicious! I could eat a handful of these!

Both my husband and I are of Czech heritage, and have eaten real kolaches all our lives. These are not authentic kolaches — the dough is not correctly made. These are not bad pastries, the fillings are good and the creative savory kolaches are interesting. Unfortunately, without the right dough, even great fillings cannot rise to the level of a good kolache. Coffee was good, location clean and appealing and service was great. My suggestion is for the owners to research Czech recipes(many can be found online, even Texas Monthly has a good one) and try for a more authentic dough. Also, be careful with too much bread on the kolache… For research purposes, a quick trip south to West to the Czech Stop, Village Bakery and several other bakeries would also give them great comparisons.

Ordered the Spinach Chicken, Chipotle Chicken, and Jalapeño Cheese Sausage Kolaches and they were all pretty good. I have no complaints on the flavor or the service, but I would say that they are a bit expensive for the size and the amount of filling in each. The bread is really good though, reminds me of the texture of Kolache Factory. If these were cheaper or bigger, I would come back here again.

I was finally able to stop in this place, and boy am I glad I did! Their kolaches are filling, but don’t leave you feeling overly guilty. Which means room for more kolaches! I had the basic Sausage, Bacon, Maple Sausage, and Blueberry kolaches. The basic sausage kolaches were perfectly sized with just enough dough to wrap around the sausage. It’s not like other places where they put a tiny sausage in a giant roll. And only $ 0.99 a pop! The Bacon and Maple Sausage kolaches also were filled with eggs and cheese. Absolutely awesome and filling! The blueberry kolache was pretty good too, but I’m more of the Meat and Bread type of guy. 10⁄10 will definitely visit again! P. S. Please support your local mom and pop shops!

Wow! Outstanding, and surprisingly light! Their selection of savory kolaches are outstanding, and while some people have said they don’t put enough content in them, I strongly disagree. To me, they strike the perfect balance of their delicious dough and the simple, thoughtful fillings. We like them so much, but I had to run back and get more! My family particularly liked the veggie, the potato, and the chicken and mushroom. Considering how few breakfast places there are in this area(that aren’t traditional donut shops) I for one welcome this fantastic addition to our neighborhood.

Clean place, friendly service, great alternative kolaches compared to the traditional ham and cheese. Chipotle chicken, jalapeño, Philly cheesesteak…

I had to visit twice before deciding my real opinion here. The savory kolaches which really aren’t called kolaches anymore at that point are not very enticing. Too much bread and not enough filling. The cream cheese and strawberry cream cheese kolaches are pretty good. Instead of the savory ones I tried a jalapeño sausage roll the second visit, which I preferred. I don’t think the 4 – 5 star rating is authentically earned in this case. I would give it a 2.5 if I could but since I’m a nice kid I’ll round up to 3.

Nice kolaches. I’d come here again. They would have gotten 5 stars, but they were out of my favorite original kolache.

Being of Czech descent, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on kolaches. As my grandmother used to say, if you don’t start with great dough, don’t even bother making a great filling. Well these folks got it all right, great dough, great fillings. They are much better than the other kolache places I have tried, including the ones I have driven to in West, which mostly are crap. Save yourself the drive to West or the other places in DFW and come to this little kilache place at Preston and Frankford, you will not be disappointed.

I tried this place for the first time today and I am a fan! I ordered the jalapeño sausage and cheese kolache and the philly cheesesteak kolache. The dough of the kolaches had the perfect amount of denseness, enough to hold what was inside without being too filling. Like most kolache places they microwaved the kolache before serving it, this did not ruin anything about the kolache. The dough was still soft and the insides were warm enough to enjoy. Before I start handing out 5 stars I would have to try more of their products. The jalapeño sausage in the kolache was huge! The bread to meat ratio in each bite I’d say was close to 40⁄60. The philly cheese steak kolache was literally a mini cheese steak, complete with onions and mushrooms to go along with the steak and cheese. The attention to detail was a surprise to me. I would definitely go back. Even though I only ate 2 it was definitely bang for the buck.

This is a new kolache shop that just opened next to Pat and Mike’s. With the odd hours it was hard for me to stop by. Until now that is. I got the sausage and egg kolache for $ 1.25. My second and last one was the strawberry cream cheese kolache which was $ 1.15. The sausage and egg kolache was just alright and not the best I’ve had so far. The strawberry cream cheese looked a bit ugly so I wasn’t expecting much. Both of the kolaches were just ok and personally I like the kolache shop in Frisco. When I walked in the set up is like a donut shop where the baked goods are displayed inside a case. They had a few selections of drinks and no decaf coffee. If it wasn’t for the odd hours which I suggest changing it to a earlier time. I’d say more would come during the weekdays. I being one of them.
