Tucker’s Blues was one of the best music/dancing nights out that I have had in Dallas. The music is so great. The place is cozy, friendly, cool. It is the kind of place that you can enjoy no matter what your age. Everyone is welcome and is made to feel comfortable. My definite favorite!

This place is awesome. After being gone from Dallas for several years, I was looking for a great place to take some friends visiting town. I saw an ad in a paper in town and thought I would try it out. Glad I did. The place was incredible. Amazing band, great service, and great drinks. It was so great that I went back a week later with some family members. Do yourself a great favor and support the blues in Dallas at Tuckers.

Ive been here 1 time a few months ago and have been wanting to return. This place is great its a mom and pop spot(privately owned) and focuses on the music over all. Typically I believe the cover is 10 after 10 and free before, although Ive seen it different I believe it depends on the show. The inside is nicely done lots of portraits of famous music icons all painted and theres plenty of room for a group of friends. The crowd was mid 20s– later 40s+ when I went which makes sense because many people dont understand blues and jazz music from my generation and the ones after mine. The drinks were reasonably priced when I went, and the Waitresses were good. They have a Bar. One great thing that I liked about it is that’s its BYOF bring your own food!!! So you can run to rudys chicken grab a 10 piece head over there and eat, drink, and Jam out. The band that I saw was great, and I would expect them to be since this place makes its living off of showcasing good music so keep that in mind. Overall I was happy with it, and cant complain about anything at all. so I give it 5 stars :)

If the warm simplicity of a cool blues band moves your musical soul, Tucker’s Blues is your Destination quality reigns over quantity here at Tuckers and you will certainly enjoy an evening of live music. A groovy local band playing, excellent brew flowing and people losing themselves in booze and blues. Not only did we have a wonderful time, the Owners came over and introduced themselves to our table… Thanking us for coming ect ect… The kind of interaction you can’t find at most places these days «Good Times»

Recently I went to a blues club in Dallas… Tuckers’ Blues… it was the first time I had been out to experience any of the Dallas nightlife scene and I was longing for something fun. Yes, I know, it may sound counterintuitive to go to a blues club to have fun, but it is what I did, because this kind of music is what touches my soul. This review doesn’t compare Tuckers’ Blues to any other place in Dallas or anywhere else, it just about my personal experience. It was the grandest time! I went as part of a member-organized event, and people associated with our group trickled in all evening… the staff at the club were very accommodating, letting our group sprawl across 5 or 6 tables, joining them together however we wanted. The room is small, holding an estimated 50 – 60 tables, with a few more seats at the bar, and in wing-back upholstered chairs positioned along a couple of the walls. The entire atmosphere was relaxed and jovial. Our server introduced himself with a handshake, not only telling each guest his name, but asking theirs as well, a nice touch, and different than the usual, «Hi my name is ______, and I’ll be your server…» that one usually hears from servers everywhere. That was just the beginning of the inclusive nature of Tuckers’ Blues, after the band began to play, one quickly realized that to take full advantage of the Tuckers’ Blues experience, you were going to be on your feet participating in the entertainment. The show was a continual mix of laughter, amazing vocals from the band, and from audience members. It was a great classic blues sound… and this is the kind of place that has no need of a designated dance floor, if you want to dance, just get up and dance. I regret that I cannot remember the names of all the performers, but these are the ones I do: Sheran Goodspeed Keyton, Robert ‘Texas Slim’ Sullivan, Lucky Peterson and Tamara Peterson. The live music was scheduled to start at 8pm, but due to a few technical difficulties it started a little later. Tuckers’ Blues does a good job of «bringing the blues back home» which is the theme printed on their business card. I went on a Saturday night and there was a $ 10 cover. A glass of red wine was $ 5, and a domestic bottled beer was $ 4. There is a dress code, no sneakers, no athletic jerseys, no baseball caps. Remember there is no free parking in Deep Ellum.

Saw the house band with 5 other friends last night, the band was tight and the singers were great. Like the other reviews said, the Tuckers are great hosts and have put together a very nice spot. It is a little hard to find being tucked behind twisted root.

I got invited to this spot by a friend who was performing spoken word there. I was pleasantly surprised by everything about the place! It had the warm feel of a NY-esque blues joint like The Blue Note. By that I mean, minimalist décor, actual planned entertainment, diverse, non-pretentious crowd.(I love Dallas, but it was nice to feel like I was outside of Texas for a change). The house band was upbeat, talented and quite comical at times. There was a lot of crowd-interaction…those who choose to sit in the front row — beware of being called out or onstage! The many glasses of chardonnay I had were very good and the service was excellent. Definitely check this place out for a fun date night, birthday get-together or girls night out!

Until yesterday I thought Deep Ellum Blues was merely a standard covered by the Grateful Dead back in the day. It turns out it exists in real life on Commerce St. We had the best time last night, why? because the house band is TIGHT, the troupe of singers are amazing, and the service is earnest. There is no cover on Sunday, and open mike night is also no cover on Thursday night.

Last Friday, I was one of the lucky people that got to attend the grand opening of Tucker’s Blues in Deep Ellum. I say that because it was one of the best shows that I had been to in a long time. Though I don’t profess to be an expert on blues music, I know most of the popular songs. The show consisted of several singers and a fantastic backup band. The crowd was very diverse and the atmosphere had a lot of energy the entire night. The space, which is located next to Twister Root and formerly housed Red Blood Club, looks fantastic. But what also makes the place stand out are the owners. You can tell that the Tuckers know what they’re doing. For a first night, the service was really attentive without being intrusive. The brother-sister team of Dianne and Larry Tucker and their family are some of the most gracious hosts you will come across. When we went through the whole rezoning process in Deep Ellum a couple of years ago, these are the types of places and crowds that we wanted to see come back to the neighborhood. My advice: show up early. As the word gets out this will be a really tough spot to get into. If you think Deep Ellum is dead, you haven’t been to Tuckers’ Blues.
