My wife loves this place! Warren was able to fix her color and cut after years of going to someone who hadn’t a clue. Thanks Warren, you rock!!!

#hipster vibe all around, yet located in the hub of #uptown #mckinneyavenue where vibe is not even recognized as a word in the english vocabulary; fish out of water. #deep ellum is calling. As for the cut & color, it took 2.5 hours (painfully slow at every step, unnecessary time for the service received) and grandest of all, it totaled $ 300 when I was quoted $ 100. #Worst. My hair did not look bad, nor did it look different. Really? No transformation noticeable. For the $ 300 spent I would have got extensions…#refundplease.

Ok so it’s hard for me to judge their hair cuts because by the time I left the salon I didn’t actually get one. I walked in and after being introduced to my stylist it was very apparent he was not… Sober… Soon after I sat in the chair to discuss what I wanted done, he asked me if I minded if he go «pot smoke really quick.» I thought this must be a joke… It was not! He clarified by letting me know he just needed a quick bong hit but for me not to worry bc he would wash his hands after. This was my cue to leave.
I’m still in shock, and while I didn’t get a hair cut out of it, I guess I got a good story?

I went to see my friend Cheraha who fixed my hair after Toni and guy color raped it. She did an amazing job, and it was quick!!! I love my hair now!!!

DO NOT GO HERE! I bought a $ 99 Groupon for color, highlights, and a cut. I brought a picture to illustrate exactly what I had in mind and explained explicitly to CHERAH WHITE what I wanted. I honestly feel that the positive reviews on here are fake, authored by friends of the stylists.
What should have taken about 2 hours took 4 hours. My hair came out several different colors, no where near the shade I requested. It looked nothing like the photo I brought. Cherah tried to fix it by leaving the dye on longer, toning, clarifying, and shampooing my hair into oblivion. By the time she was done, my scalp felt tight and itchy. She joked that I had «weird hair» because she didn’t know what she was doing.
I had an experience similar to that mentioned by other reviewers on here, where my stylist jumped between me and another client. And another stylist was invited to work on me simultaneously as well. Having 2 people tugging and working on your hair at the same time is just… unprofessional.
I told Cherah that I looked ridiculous, hated what she had done to me, and left in tears. I filed a complaint through Groupon and received a refund. The next day, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I booked an emergency appointment with another stylist to return my hair to a slightly «normal» color. At least now I don’t look like a clown but this event literally ruined my Thanksgiving holiday because I was so ashamed of how I looked.
Nevertheless, the integrity of my hair and scalp have been destroyed. I’m going to have to wait months for my hair to grow out and cut off the damage that has been done. Hair is a big part of a person’s self image and I feel hideous after this embarrassing experience. Groupons for hair services are just not worth it. Chances are you are just a guinea pig for someone who doesn’t know what they are doing. You’re better off saving money by going to a cosmetology school or institute and letting students work on you. At least there they are supervised by instructors.

It’s the day after my cut and color and I am so happy! I used their Groupon deal and made an appt for 5:30 — i have a LOT of hair so i knew it would take a while but I didn’t realize I would keep the stylist there an hour or so after close. I felt bad but Cheraha was so sweet and never made me feel like I was inconveniencing her for staying late. She took her time with the blow out and styling and I am so pleased!
This is honestly one of the first times I haven’t gone home and sulked about my how my hair turned out. I had originally wanted to go with ombré style highlights but Cheraha was quick to give her honest opinion about the maintenance and how i would have to style my hair every day to make it look good. She had other ideas and I trusted her to make me happy — She definitely delivered! Subtle light brown highlights hidden throughout my dark brown hair and the biggest change… adding bangs! They turned out great!
Recommending Cheraha for sure! You rock!

A Groupon brought me to Warren Wilkes. Brandon has done my cut and color twice and I have finally found my new stylist! He is professional and pleasant and this is the best color I have ever had. I particularly appreciate that he enlists help when putting in the highlights so it doesn’t take forever. I am very very pleased.

Found Warren Wilkes via a Groupon, with an awesome deal. I figured I would try it out since the girl I had been going to quit. Admittedly I was a bit anxious, as always the first time I go to someone new. However, I was very impressed! When I called to schedule the person whom I spoke to was accommodating and very polite. Brandon did my hair, and even though he had never done it before I absolutely love it! He takes the time to really listen to what you want, even sitting down and consulting before beginning… but doesn’t take forever to do your hair. I got great service without taking an entire afternoon to do it. I am very picky about my cut — I like my hair long, and have had many people cut too much off. Not so with Brandon. I would highly recommend him! I had planned on going to Warren Wilkes for a good deal, but think I may have found my new stylist.
Update: I went to Brandon for the second time and loved it again! His prices were, what I thought, extremely reasonable… especially for a salon in Uptown. Will definitely be going back, and have referred my sister and a few friends to him after they asked where I was getting my hair done.

Let me start off by saying I love this place! I bought a groupon for $ 99 haircut, highlight, and all over color! My hair was a mess going in there and I hadn’t been in a salon for coloring in at least 3 – 4 years! So I was a bit overly excited… My stylist was Josh and he was awesome! My highlights are very blended and look awesome! He also fixed the botch layer job the last salon did, and that turned out great! Anyhow, moral of the story love this place and will return for sure!

The über-​talented style wizard Cynthia has moved to a NEW location. I was almost devastated at the thought of not being able to find her. She is truly amazing — I’ve lived in many of the biggest cities and always go to high-​end stylists, I was super lucky to find her. I promise she will not let you down!

I always like giving stylist the opportunity to show me what they are about and how they can look at me and decide what would look good.
Cynthia at Warren Wilkes Salon did just that and was absolutely great!
She chose great colors and direction of colors that I had never even thought of and it fits my complexion and personality perfectly.
She did a great job with my cut too, making sure that the full art was a complete success!
The salon is very clean, with lots a light, everyone is very friendly and down to earth so you don’t feel like you stick out on your first time.
I will definitely continue and look forward to using Cynthia’s talents for my ‘do’s’.

I get my haircut, as well as other things on occasion (highlights, color, and straitened by Cynthia at Warren Wilkes Salon. Everyone there is very friendly, but I must say Cynthia does an incredible job. She has an incredible style and always gives great suggestions on what to do next. Men don’t have a lot of options on style — but Cynthia can definitely open the door and gives you great fresh ideas, and she does does an excellent job. I refer everyone I know to Cynthia. Hopefully, Warren knows exactly what kind of «star» he has in Cynthia.

Cynthia at Warren Wilkes Salon has been styling my hair for years and is a hair goddess! She keeps up with the latest trends and takes great pride in her work. She’s also very personable and friendly. So if you’re just looking for some hair maintenance or a total hair makeover, she’s the gal to do it without hesitation. Trust me, you’ll walk out lookin’ fly!

My natural hair color is so dark brown, it’s almost black. However, thanks to my fantastic hair stylist Bastien at Warren Wilkes Salon, not many people know this. The first time I showed my husband a picture of me pre-​Bastien, he gleefully howled, «You have a mullet!» Yes, it was almost that bad. I never thought I could be happy with my hair until Bastien started doing it about 6 years ago. I have fine hair that is straight as a board and pretty fragile to boot. Bastien has taken me almost every color (platinum blonde with dark underneath, red with strawberry highlights) and each time he does my hair I always receive compliments. Just when I think we’ve tried it all, he thinks of something different. Also, Bastien does not get scissor-​happy and cut off more hair than I ask for. My husband did go to Toni & Guy, switched over to Bastien, and his hair has never looked better. I usually pay around $ 300 for highlights, cut, and styling plus tips. I’m generally a tightwad, but he is totally worth it. Bastien is the ONLY person I trust with my hair. My mullet days are officially over. =)
Update: Bastien continues to keep me mullet-​free, however he is now at Zeal Med Spa and Salon.

I came to know Warren Wilkes Salon thanks to one of their fantastic stylists Cynthia Vurbeff. I met Cynthia over a year ago when she worked for another salon and I followed her to Wilkes’ establishment. The staff is always friendly and never pretentious and make sure to offer you a drink when you check-​in. Cynthia is extremely talented at tailoring your hair to your desired look and throws in a relaxing shampoo (with scalp massage) to boot. The salon always spices things up with occasional special events that have scored me a free scalp/​hair treatment. All in all, no complaints and only praise for my girl Cynthia and Warren’s great salon.
