We came in last night on a packed and beautiful Saturday night. Great band playing on the street corner. Staff was super busy but held it all together and were courteous. Sit at the windows… it’s a real treat. Looks like they have some great drink specials. We will be back again!

Nothing kills a beautiful 70 degree late January day more than bad service. Having had our beers slammed down in front of us by a bartender who appears to want to be anywhere but serving, we patiently await her return… tic, toc. Now with 1⁄3 of our beers remaining, it’s become clear that this establishment has no interest in our money. Now I’m sure others have had good service here, but seriously management, have been you not noticed the budding competition?!

Nice little bar in the Bishop Arts District. What I thought was the coolest, was the outside seating with the bar through the wall. I got a cigar from the cigar shop next door and sat outside and enjoyed a good smoke and a drink while my wife and daughter walked around shopping. A win-win for all of us!

Absolutely classic pub — great Moscow Mules and Deep Eddy Lemonade! Great jazz music and true bartenders — a class act.

I give whiskey bars a pretty heavy crit right out of the gate, and seldom do I find myself on the return trip out of the way in a short time frame but I’m not deviating much from the original recipe if only to request my old fashioned be poured with rye instead of bourbon. Holy Moley. Mind blown. Again. Order the old fashioned. I highly recommend it.

Overall a decent place to grab a drink. The drinks are pretty average, nothing bad or good really to say about them. The food is very meh, wouldn’t suggest the wings… they are not too fantastic especially without any sauce and the sauce to dip is pretty flavorless. Popcorn is average, good as just something to snack on. Service is decent, not too fast, not too slow. Little bit pricey on some items but other items are fair. Overall, it is just a flat out decent place, I only come here to watch a sports game sometimes because it is right by my house… and that’s what its good for, the environment. The food and drinks aren’t special but they have a TV and it is a nice little spot they got in Bishop Arts.

Loved this place! Cool vibe, the quiche with ham and Swiss was very good. Brittany, our waitress was a sweetie and kept our drinks refilled. Will definitely be back again.

Terrible experience. Crowds that the bar staff didn’t know how to handle. Expensive drinks. Worst of all, one of the rudest bartenders I’ve experienced in Dallas. People love to complain about Uptown, and sometimes for good reason, but I have never once had a bartender be this snotty and nasty, with no real justification for being so, at ANY Uptown bar.

I give 3 stars to the bartender who seem to be working sólo and holding it down with an awesome attitude!!! I had an OC Shirley temple which was really tasty! Will return again for drinks

Cool bar for people watching if you like sitting outside. Props to our waitress Brittany for taking great care of us when the bar was slammed on a Sunday afternoon.

Overall, I wasn’t impressed. The environment is nice and fun. However, the drinks were all mixed poorly. We ordered three different mixed drinks and each one had something very wrong with it. I got an Old Fashion and it tasted only of the liquor. Their Tom Collins they said tasted incorrect«because of their recipe.» And, our Momosa tasted of only alcohol. We didn’t bother to try anything else after that. I think there are better places to spend your money. Service was also a little slow as well.

Came here because it looked to be a happening place. Great vibe, but one server on the patio on a Saturday night makes no sense. Everyone’s drinks, including ours were empty. Service was lacking. Server didn’t check back with us in a timely manner and we were never offered to order any food. Nice patio if you’re not interested in eating or drinking anything.

This review is only on the atmosphere and service… We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for a couple of beers. The patio seating looked comfortable and good for people watching, but, alas, all the tables were taken. We sat at the bar and had a few beers. The bar seemed a little divey, which I enjoy. The only drawback I will say is that I overheard one of the bartenders complaining about a customer’s tip(or lack thereof). I’ll be the first to say that it is important to tip servers and bartenders when you get good service. However, hearing her complain about it in front of other customers was a little off-putting. That said, I would still come back if I was in the area and wanted a couple of drinks on the patio!

So we walk in and there are no lights on because they were have a walking dead showing/party. Already a great start. The bartender, John, really knows his stuff, and can make some wicked amazing drinks. I really wish I knew how to make the one he made me all night, it was really that good! He also makes a mean(and by that I mean delicious) old fashion. Wish I would have eaten here, because other folks had good looking and smelling food.

The best part of Whitehall is their outside patio drink area. Watching people walk by or listening to surrounding conversations tends to be an interesting time without fail. Sorry to say, service is a hit or miss. I have been waiting over 20 minutes to simply order a drink. For the love of God, I really need some alcohol. Chocolate Tini on the way. Yeah, my server stopped by after all.

Cool patio. You can get some good people watching in here as it’s right in the midst of all the Bishop Arts action. They also have bar bites, lots of options for brunch(til 3 pm on the weekends), and mimosas. It can be a little pricey. Staff can be a little hit or miss and not attentive during certain times of day. However I think it’s a good option if Hattie’s across the street is far too packed and you are looking to be seated immediately.

Great location and love the bar stools outside with windows into the restaurant. One less star for the bartender who didn’t appear very attentive.

It smelled like mildew inside so we sat outside. It was pretty crowded and they have a nice live band playing over here which I loved! We got the lunchbox cocktail just because it sounded different and it had 3 things that I love — from all the domestic beer they could use, they used Miller light, Disaronno, and OJ! It was a really delicious concoction!

Took a minute to be greeted… even the blonde female middle aged bartender couldn’t look up and make a lil eye contact or shoot a smile. Finally the host came. I decided to have a seat on the patio. A sunny meal would be nice… again it tool a minute for the same hostess to get at me on the patio. I know I normally would be outtie but I want to try new place so I compromise. Let’s hope the food is better than the service! It was! The guy from the kitchen stepped out and was very apologetic and talked me into staying and asked for a second chance, I couldn’t help but respect that plea. He promised better and he delivered better. The coffee was brewed fresh and replaced my firstly presented lukewarm cup without sugar and/or cream. I ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich that was served on a croissant. The sandwich was piping hot, colorful and presented beautifully, really it did. It was so good and did not need any additional seasoning or fruit spread to accompany it. That is pretty rare for me. I was happy I stayed but only because of the gentleman’s attention to my disappointment and delivery to regain my business. The waitress I originally had was swapped with a different guy and he was much more attentive. Overall this impromptu visit to this Bishop Arts establishment was first sore but ended up swell. I appreciate his recovery and because of that I may just return… maybe. He made the difference from what would have been a 1-star rating to a 3-star rating. Perhaps if the moment strikes me again I will update it to see if the good or the bad is the norm.
