Write Selection

Thank you so much to the staff at the Write Selection that has been accommodating and helpful over the many years that I have been patronizing their store. Since the first time that I walked in door in the ‘90s until yesterday, Sept 24, 2015 they have gone out of their way to answer questions and make certain that my deadlines were hit. I called to set an appointment for wedding invitations. I spoke with associate Ann and she said she was not comfortable with serving a same sex couple. I cant believe a company in Dallas and this part of town would allow bigots to work at their store. I think this is HORRIBLE and hope that anyone with any amount of decency does not service this establishment. So very disappointed!

We are so fortunate to have Write Selection in Dallas. From the moment you walk in the doors, you are greeted with the friendly faces and professionals there, ready to help. The store has many unique gift items, as well as lots of samples of darling invitations and stationery products. I cannot stress how great it is to have the kind of support this fine staff provides. I highly recommend Write Selection!

I bought my wedding invites here and loved Barbara. Just got off the phone with them and the man I spoke to was SO RUDE. Will never go back in there again.

Whatever you do, don’t come here. I ordered wedding invitations from this company and it could not have been a more unpleasant and stressful process.
General correspondence over the phone and email with both representatives was rude, unhelpful, and condescending. It takes several days to receive proofs. When I received my final proof, I was notified via email around 9 p.m. that the turnaround time would be 28 days. Although it was for wedding invitations, this is still an abnormally long amount of time. It would have been impossible to receive the invitations, have them addressed, and sent out in time for my guests to turn in the reply card. After discovering they had added an additional embellishment to the invitations (which of course cost more), I requested the embellishment to be removed. Upon removal, my invitations would arrive within 10 days. I also pre-​shipped the envelopes to arrive no later than 5 business days. It was confirmed in writing that I would receive the envelopes within 5 business days, the invitations within 10 business days, and a change in price due to dropping the embellishment.
I called Write Selection on the 7^th business day after having not received the envelopes. They (the owner) did not know where my order was and were extremely rude. The following day, I received an email that they were shipped out the previous day. Essentially, the envelopes were not shipped until I called the store asking where they were. The envelopes did not arrive until the 7^th business day, which was a total of ten days. When the order arrived in the store, before I could check that the invitations were correct and satisfactory, the store charged me the remaining amount of the bill. This is highly unprofessional business practice. The customer must approve that there are no errors to the order before charging the remaining amount.
When I explained how unhappy I was working with her company, they were unapologetic. She was very clear that it was not important to her that I receive my order on time and it wasn’t her problem. I have not received a refund for the charge for the embellishment on the invitations that I never ordered. I also have not received a refund for the order being several days late.
Planning a wedding is already a very stressful process and this store made it infinitely worse.

Write Selection has some nice greeting cards, stationary and gifts in addition to thier large selection of invitations. They do everything from kid birthday party invites to corporate invites. The young woman that helped me was very helpful and even called to follow up with the job. An older lady that I dealt with one time over the phone was rude, but I don’t think all of their staff is that way. They do have some great things to offer.

Rude, pretentious, and snobbish. Those the three words I use to describe the employees at this invitation shop. It makes me want to say, «Why are you being so rude? You sell paper!» On top of that, the selection is meager in comparison to Paper and Chocolate and Needle in a Haystack.
I needed some last minute invitations and this shop is in my ‘hood. If I weren’t so desperate, I would have been gone in about two minutes. I do not take it well when those in customer service don’t seem to understand that their job is to serve the customer.
