So I just bought half a pound of lechon. What a disappointment! I paid $ 6 for cold fat and bones. I know half a pound isn’t much, but I was expecting some meat. And since it’s cold, the skin isn’t crunchy! So sad…

Here’s the thing about this place, the food is good but the customer service is ABSOLUTELYABYSMAL! HORRIBLE! F-! Three experiences I’ve had in the last year have been bad. I don’t recommend this place.

One word: Turon. I always get it from here. This place comes through every single time I need turon. It’s so good and the only place I recommend getting it from. Crispy & caramelized to perfection on the outside. Soft and sweet on the inside. I’ve never tried any of their other items, but I was so shocked to see their low Unilocal rating. I personally love how this place is open during the day on holidays and does pre orders. It makes perfect for bringing over fresh food/dessert during holiday party season.

Hole in the wall Pilipino food chain — CASHONLY! Love their Pork sisig and their grilled fish! Could be five star if the place was shimmering clean but since it’s been there for a while, it can be forgotten. It’s still great if you’re craving for something Filipino to eat. There’s also a bunch of Filipino restaurant surrounded so you have a lot to choose from.

I hardly eat Filipino food because its detrimental to my diet. Ended up here because i was looking for banana turon to bring to a party and they had the best value for your money. $ 1 for a big fat juicy turon with lanka. I ended up cutting it into half when serving it. Customer service was excellent and we got to try the beef empanada which i LOVED. It is fried with a crust that’s on the sweet side. Just the way I like it. Caved in and had the grilled pork liempo(pork belly) and mechado with rice. The mechado had a few tough pieces but overall it tasted good. Will be back to try their lechon.

Food is ok but prices a bit unreasonable. Specially when they charge you extra for to go containers for to go orders. Ok if you are in a pinch and want to avoid lines elsewhere.

I give this place 1 star because thats the lowest choice i had. I ordered a 40 – 45 lb lechon here for our daughters 1st Bday/baptism that we celebrated over the weekend… That will be the last time I ever order anything from this place. When we first ordered the lechon there were 2 ladies behind the counter and mind you we were the only one there. They didn’t even say hello or anything they just stood there until we said something. But i can care less about that now. What I was pissed about was when we got the lechon to the hall and our guest started to cut it… It was literally just skin and bones and just literally caved in. All the side meat was removed from the inside. Why would you cheat your own customers. That’s not good practice for business. If you want good quality Lechon… Order from Tastebuds in San Bruno. You pay a little bit more but for sure you will not be cheated.

I order paksiw to go. I paid $ 7 for one small piece of fish and a tablespoon amount of sabaw. Seriously, I could’ve gotten a bigger portion of food at the hot food section at pacific super WITH rice.

Sam was raving about their pork roll and the day was getting on my nerves so what better than to bail out for a jaunt over to DC for some killer pork. Pork-gasm as I noted on FB. Guess it’s important to check in on Unilocal too if you want to help support the business and improve their SEO. You want to support this place, yes old school and hecka good in what they do with no holds barred. Their way, which is good or the Highway, which is close by … Some days you just need to pork out, maybe every day and if I lived too close to here, I would be here a lot, mostly takeout but we ate there and it’s enjoyable to see how much of a community fixture they are for what they do. But they didn’t have adobo … what a crime, lol … Like the time my sushi chef/owner friend ran out of rice … well not that dire but some pork and chicken adobo would have really put the whole thing over, but all of their pork products are the bomb.(They will serve adobo tomorrow but Friday is a busy day for me — so it’s every other day they have adobo f.y.i.) The fish looked a little scarey, nah, just kidding — it’s like that’s the way they like it and that’s the way it tastes best, so that’s just the way it is and some things will never change so there’s a bit of a Bruce Hornsby vibe to the long term traditions and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it so I’m a supporter. Little out of the way for me but it’s close to destination status for when you just really want to pork out of a rough day at the office — Actually kind of a nice drive and lunch should always be an adventure. Had pork roll, pork strips, pork sour soup, cracklings, thought the sauces were good, Sam noted that they kind of lack vegetables which is good and … the entire shopping mall is worthy of exploration and certain to yield treasures of culinary and other worthy pursuits. Support!

Walked out of the near by Dim Sum place smelled like gym feet and bad service looks on exiting customers told me to bail, so came here for lunch got the Lechon over rice lunch special was $ 5, plus calamansi juice $ 1. They also had fried pork rinds and fried pig anus as chip substitute! This is a cash only simple place, the quality if you had a Filipino aunt or uncle cook mostly meat and rice dish, this is it. Good serving size of rice! They have other Filipino snacks(garlic peanuts) and pastries. This place is really hole in the wall, but so comfort food without the fuss.

They say that the«hole in the walls» are the best, right? This place has been here for AWHILE. I’ve known it to be at least 20 years now. So yes, it’s an old fashioned and a little outdated but you figure they’ve been in business for this long so they have to be doing something right, right? I personally have never sat down here and ate. I’ve always ordered and taken home. As a child, we’d always come and purchased the pan de sal. From what I recall, they were always fresh and inexpensive. But lately, the last few times I’ve been there, I’ve ordered items such as the BBQ on the stick and sometimes the pork skin for the boyfriend and I never leave without taking turon home. It’s not a bad place but they really need to make the investment of making the renovation.

Unfortunately, they ran out of lechon when we went there so this review is only for the paksiw na isda. Hubby was not so keen on this since it was not as sour as the original version. However, I’ve never liked this dish but found this version actually ok precisely because it was not as sour haha.

They cook lechon just like the way its done back in the Philippines! The Chinese have roast pork, but this is still way far the best way to cook a pig! Excellent juicy meat with a nice serving of crispy skin at a reasonable price($ 11 a pound)! But aside from lechon, they also serve traditional Filipino dishes, from grilled fish, adobo to veggies.

When I was a child back in southeast Missouri, I grew to have a deep and abiding love for the pig, but Lech’Go has taken the art of pork to an even higher level. Both of my grandfathers raised pigs and they provided bacon, sausage, chops, steaks, roasts, and head cheese(aka souse) for our table for many years, but it was only 15 years ago through my Filipino partner that I was introduced to lechon … and I have become a true belilever. The crispiness of the roasted skin, the tenderness and sublime fattiness of the meat. When done properly, it is one of the most amazing dishes in the history of the world and a significant contribution to culture from the Philippines. Lech’Go takes that cultural contribution to an almost spiritual level. Lechon by the pound, lechon over rice, lechon paksiw, lechon asado, and the lechon sauce is AMAZING. This is not my grandfathers’ pig. This is baboy heaven. And, even though they open their doors before noon, they make you wait until then for the first roast suckling pig of the day. Perfection takes time, my friends. And I would be quite remiss if I did not mention their other delicacies: grilled whole tilapia(I know this is not a fish place, but this is another amazing dish), lugaw(rich and gingery rice porridge, done the Filipino way which is btw MUCH better than Chinese porridge, with apologies to my Chinese friends) and leche flan(sweet, dark, and rich, with bubbles, but never enough sauce(but then again, there could ever be enough sauce?) Ok, enough, but you get my drift. It’s stuck in a little 1950s style market area above Serramonte(you know, the shopping center), but it is truly worth the journey(and there’s a new Valerio’s bakery, right next door, with the smell of pandesal wafting through the plaza). My partner’s father said this was THE best place for lechon in the San Francisco Bay Area and he was right(again). Just go!

Went here on Saturday late afternoon and I couldn’t believe my eyes! So many yummy food options on the hot plate. AND they had some chicken skewers grilling! Got the pork adobo and was corrected… it was bbq pork. That was ok with me. It may be that not all of my taste buds are working cuz I’m getting over my cold. But it tasted just like pork adobo. It satisfied my meat craving! There’s been a few changes since our last visit here. The drink machine is now kept behind the counter. And they use disposable plates and utensils. Definitely coming back when we’re craving some Filipino food.

they got an auntie serving the food she is super nice and helpful. The food is not that great but the service is good. I tried their pork barbeque on a stick not really tender kinda tasted like it was sitting on the heating tray forever, the tocino(cured sweet pork) and loganisa(cured sweet sausage) also the same tasted old not fresh the rice and eggs were less then stellar even the cup with the water tasted old, I rather eat here then Ling Nam but still it is not that great, the prices of lechon is really pricey, and from the little that was available it was too oily food * tasted old ambiance * sometimes clean price $ cheap service **** auntie is very helpful
