I love the sushi from this place. My favorite is the double happy roll. It has white tuna, regular tuna, salmon, and avocado wrapped in cucumber(no rice or seaweed) and it is served in a balsamic dressing.

We’ve been here a few times and Koo just never impresses us. Service was kind of slow, food wasn’t that great, the décor is strange and the waitress didn’t come back to fill our water glasses(which were dirty). She had us repeatedly pass her plates and glasses even though she could have just walked around the table. She was nice but it doesnt seem like she was well trained. For tea, my mother in law was given a tea bag and charged $ 2.50 for the privilege. Overall, an unsatisfactory experience with Koo.

This place has the worst service ever. Every time I’ve ordered from them the order has came 20 minutes after the promised time and I have had to call and they would inform me that they were sending the driver out right now. Tonight was the final straw. They did not bring me one of my orders of sushi and then continued to question me. Then when i called to see when the order they forgot would be delivered they told me another 45 minutes to an hour. I had to go pick up the order myself while all my other food spoiled. No apology from the manager and continued to make excuses and never once apologized for the inconvenience or offered to reimburse me. Absolutely ridiculous.

This place could be a bit cleaner. It has a funny odor. The sushi was warm and rubbery. I have to say it’s the not the best choice for sushi. The place is usually full loud drunks in the afternoon /evening time.

Cold servers. Cold food. Dirty restaurant. Old, tired, ratty outdated menu’s. Ordered brown rice and got white rice with little plastic hard particles and darkened by soy sauce. I mean really how stupid do you think American’s are? My husband was offered white rice or fried rice with his chicken and broccoli and they charged an extra $ 2.00 for the Fried rice without mentioning it. All in all the place has become run down and unkept. I will not be going again. Too dirty.

Hibachi; soup was not hot, portions somewhat small, service for drinks lacking, the salmon and scallops were way overcooked, bar drinks were like half full, it was freezing in the dinning room, food arrived to plate very slow, resulting in finishing each item before next item came out. On a good note, the sauces were very tasty.

The food is great but Joe is the best bartender in Danbury. Koo should thank their lucky stars he works there. I come almost every week and he is probably responsible for 50% or more of their revenue. I give them 5 stars but without joe they are a three star at best.

I decided to give Koo’s another chance, on a Monday night. Once agin, there are riotous drunks in the other room. They had sent me an apology after my last review, but seem to still want to cater to drunks. Burn me twice: shame on me. I will never be back.

Frequent clients at least once a month. Have tried almost every hibachi and sushi place in the area. Average prices and the food is always great!

Been coming to Koo since probably 2006. Amazing food, both eat in and delivery. They have tasty cocktails and sushi, great hibachi dishes, and a unique menu. I enjoy the ambiance whether it’s the dining room, hibachi, or the bar.

The«Koo» restaurant is the pearl you always been looking for. We been there many times and never been disappointed with the food or the service. Their Lobster Bisque is the best we found in and around Danbury.(Yes, we have tried many places.) The staff is always friendly even the few times they messed up the order and have to be corrected, something that is rather rare. We will return again and again and …

My husband and I have been coming here for years. As much as the décor is getting dated, they have a solid menu. Super fast service and great food. We always get their pink panther rolls which are not only to die for but also not found in any other sushi resuraurnt. If you want fast and unique sushi come here.

I ordered take out from here I got spicy crab roll and spicy tuna roll It was simply awful! The spicy crab was imitation crab chopped up into a gooey orange mess, the same can be said of their spicy tuna roll… I will never eat here again

This place is pretty good. The takeout is well crafted. Built strong with all the items needed. The food itself is very good and as far as hibachi goes, about as good as it gets in the area. They have Amazon local discounts PPP up every now and again which are good for dine in only, but it saves you some money. The building itself is very nice and welcoming, staff is great also. Just a little on the pricey side.

I’ve been here several times. They offer a certificate on and I’ve purchased several. Their hibachi food is all I have ever had when dining in and it’s wonderful! The chefs are always super friendly and fun, and on my most recent visit the chef even asked ahead of time if anyone had coupons, which I thought was a great way to handle it! They are always quick to clear the table and refill drinks, and it’s a great experience all around! My only complaints are that the portions have gotten a little smaller in the last few times I’ve gone while the prices have gone up… and they don’t seem to offer any alternatives for allergies. I am allergic to onions, so the starter of onion soup doesn’t work for me, and soup would be a nice addition when the hibachi area is so cold! But I would still go back anyways!

Stated simply, the place was terrible. We ate hibachi. The entire room was freezing, even with the hibachi table heated. There was one chef working 3 tables and so we waited 1 hour to be served. About 45 minutes into waiting for our dinner — after the orders were placed and drinks were in hand – a staff member came out to argue with us about the Groupon we presented when we first walked in. That argument basically killed whatever hope we had for enjoying ourselves. If they want to argue over Groupons, the time to do it is when we present it in the beginning. Not 45 minutes into dinner. The only redeeming quality is that the food was fairly good. However, there are many other places in the Danbury area where a good hibachi meal can be had, so I would say that the service aspect of the experience was enough to keep us away from this place.

Hibachi was good and sake was yummy. Hibachi chef is a great entertainer. Food tasted excellent except last pieces of seafood tasted a bit burnt. Steaks were awesome!

I used to eat here with my family at least once a month, before the prices jumped. We always tried the special rolls and were never disappointed. The chefs like to experiment with sweet sauces like mango and papaya, and there are plenty of exotic fish and veggie sushi combinations. Most dishes I’ve had were good enough without being exceptional. I recommend the coconut chicken, which explodes with flavor but is soft and creamy, not oversweet… or the scallops with snow peas, which come seared, perfectly cooked, and nearly melt in your mouth. Hibachi is so-so, noodles eh. Miso soup is pretty good. The sushi rolls are always stuffed, presentation of ALL dishes is extraordinarily lovely. Lunch is a decent value-two rolls w/soup or salad for $ 9, or traditional sesame chicken/beef broccoli-type dishes w/soup or salad for $ 7. Brown rice is extra. Overall the food is decent but not exceptional enough to justify the prices.

I’m really surprised by a lot of these reviews. Koo may be a little expensive for the average Danburian, but the quality of their food makes up for that many times over. In comparison to our other local hibachi restaurant, Ichiro, they’re an incredible find. The sushi is truly phenomenal– and I’m a bit of a sushi critic– and their service is, at the very least, well-intentioned. I’ve been a long time lover of Koo’s hibachi, but have never eaten there during lunch until today, and I have to say, it was really a steal. I would’ve paid much more than the $ 50 I spent on three people. All of our dishes were delicious, and we were very impressed with the sweet and thoughtful interactions between the staff and customers that we witnessed. Overall, Koo offers consistently amazing food that’s worth every cent that it costs.
