Pippa’s Sports Cafe

It saddens me to give this place two stars. Like literally hurts me to do it. I used to LOVE this place. The Yankee burger was probably the best burger I have ever had. The onion rings were beer battered, which is my favorite. Everything was good. The place itself was always a bit of a dump but the burgers were to DIE for.
I stopped going for a few years. So imagine my excitement when I had a chance to introduce my husband to this place. I was beyond excited! So here I am. At pippas, completely disappointed. I don’t know if they switched owners, cooks or if they’re just cutting corners… But honestly the quality of food has gone down dramatically. I ordered a Yankee burger and onion rings, when my food arrived I was so excited. However, upon taking my first bite was so upset. My burger tasted as tho it had been cooked in a pan. whereas before it has clearly been cooked on a grill… the onion rings were also different. Seemed frozen. not beer battered as they had usually been. The burger was not good. really it wasn’t I cannot express how disappointed i was.

This people serve me RAW chicken wings, and i have pictures i hope this site gime the option to add pictures, the water serve to my kid had 3 dead bugs in there and the server told us the they just change the the filter and that was the reason 3 bug were floating in the water.

Food was great, drinks were good, sports were awesome. People were friendly too. This is a local place and it looked like a lot of older locals mixed in with a few college aged kids that go to the university near by.

Yesterday my brother got food poisoning from eating there wings and it was not busy at all! Never eating there again!

Pippas is the best ! I feel like I am home when I bring the family there it’s so cozy. The girls know what my kids eat and what my wife drinks. I love the atmosphere! Keep the good work guys.

God damn, ballast point ipa on tap and hot ass Baetenders. Ordered a burger and although It was a little over overcooked the jalapeños and bacon still melted in to a beautiful orgasmic medley in my mouth hole. I’ll be back to suck off some wings.

I love Pippas! All the food is amazing and they have a large draft and bottled beer selection. Tons of TVs and also very family friendly

The waitresses are very rude so are the bartenders… not a fan at all. the food is average not bad, nothing special at all.

Great atmosphere, very comfortable, and good customer service. Tv’s at every table. Great for the family, and great for friends. Everything on the menu is good but try to get the specials if they sound good because they don’t come around often. Parking is in the back, but sometimes you can park at the shop next door if it is crowded. Outdoor seating during warm weather is very nice and enclosed. Bathrooms are a little awkward since the doors are right next to the table.

I really like Pippa’s. I go here often since it’s right on the end of my street. Their wing flavored are yummy, my favorites being the original and the garlic teriyaki. They have dinner specials regularly and run wing nights and beer specials. The staff is always very friendly and seem like they really enjoy seeing their regulars.

Great place to watch any type of sport you like. Menu has variety filled with delicious food. Service is always outstanding. Been coming here since the 90’s and will continue to do so.

Great wings, cold beer. What more is needed? The bartenders are also always friendly and fast. This is one of those places in life where you get exactly what you expect, no matter how many times you visit. Check it out.

Went here for my friends 22^nd birthday and we got terrible service. It almost felt like we were being discriminated because of our age (22 – 24). The majority of the tables had families or groups of older people and they were getting much better service. Our waitress came by once after we got our food and another friend of ours showed up and wanted food. We asked the waitress to come to the table and when she did here exact words to our friend was «yes?» Not a hi how may i help you or would you like a drink. Just a yes. I will never return to this place. Not to mention its very small and the wings are pathetic. I wouldn’t even call them wings!

Actually like pippas. Just wish they would change their wings again. Right now there is barely any meat on them.

I would not hesitate to recommend Pippa’s Sports Café to anyone looking for a great place to hang out, grab some exceptional food and drinks, and watch the NBA, NHL, NFL games or Yankees/​Mets/​Red Sox.

Great hole in the wall sports bar. Looks like a house from the outside so it’s very camouflaged with the area and you could very easily drive by, even with the GPS telling you that you’ve arrived, as you scoff at the nice lady’s voice «no I haven’t you stupid machine!» just like I did. A few minutes later when you realize you are at the right place and now you feel like the stupid machine, walk through the front door and you’ll feel a lot better. There’s 25 flat screens going 360 degrees around the place. The bartenders are talkative, even when they’re busy. I’ve had wings here and they’re a bit larger than some places.

IMPORTANT … something I forgot in my first review. The Unilocal map is incorrect. Pippa’s is not next to Division St. You need to call to get the correct directions/​address.

I’ve lived around the Danbury area my whole life but never visited Pippas so I went with a friend last week and my first impression was that it was a ‘relaxed low-​key atmosphere’ which is what I was looking for since I do like sport bars. Food was so-​so. A minor complaint that I had was the happy hour price promoted ($ 3.00 drafts) didn’t match what I was charged ($ 5.00) but I didn’t bother saying anything. My biggest complaint didn’t come until today when I looked at my bank statement. Being in the service industry for 6+ years, I’m familiar with tip falsification and I make a point to always remember the exact total + tip I left and what the new total is. I don’t go overboard with this but I distinctly remember how much I left last week and was charged $ 4 over the amount. They gave themselves a $ 10.00 tip on a $ 27.12 bill which I know I wouldn’t leave that much, or calculate the math wrong, without it being a place I regularly visit. I won’t waste my time ratting anyone out or complaining to the owner as it’s such a minor amount, but the fact that the staff did this (esp. for only a $ 4 increase) makes me question their honesty and sets a bad reputation.
Needless to say, I won’t be going back.
