Beach Betty’s Bar

Simple little divey place, close to our house so figured we would give it a chance. We probably would go back as the bartender/​owner is cool. We are open minded and wanted to see the vibe. About 30 min in my gfriend couldn’t handle the overload of smoke. We left, its a shame because a little TLC and have smokers go outside could bring in a bigger crowd. Some good music/​intimate dance floor/​dimmed lights/​little romance and alot of potential can go along way in this bar. If you don’t like smoke or your hair and clothes with a heavy odor of smoke, then this is definitely not your place, unfortunately my gfriends place neither.

I met my bf here for drinks last night. We have been meaning to try Beach Betty’s for awhile now. It’s nice to have a local gay bar, and we wanted to show our support. Lucy, the owner, is extremely cool and friendly. We were all laughing together. This is a small, somewhat divey joint with pool tables. Friendly mixed crowd but mostly lesbian and gay. The music is great! No food served here. Smoking is allowed inside and if you don’t like cigarettes I don’t think I’d recommend sitting inside, but there is outdoor seating. We had a great time, love the new friends we made, and plan on visiting Beach Betty’s again soon!

Our flight leaves tomorrow for San Diego and we wanted to go somewhere close to see the basketball game and have some drinks. Beach Betty’s was .1 miles away so we walked to the neighborhood lesbian bar, it’s a chill place to have a few cocktails and play pool.

WAY TOO SMOKEY!!! We ordered one drink and had to drink it outside… then left. After being in the bar for just 5 minutes, we smelled like smoke stacks. Also, this is not a lesbian bar. It’s mixed and mostly a rough looking straight crowd. We were there at about 6:00 PM on a Thursday evening and a group of really drunk and very skanky straight people were dry humping each other and making out at the bar. GROSS!

It was dead on a Tuesday night and this Lesbian bar was filled with mostly straight people. There was a happy hour, but No happy hour specials on draft beer and no orange slices for my Blue Moon. The Male to female ratio was higher than that of Miami. The bartender was friendly. We were hungry and knew that we could order food from the pizzeria next door, but it was so smokey that we left to go eat elsewhere.

It has a reputation of being a lesbian bar and though I’m not a lesbian, or at least I don’t think I am… please don’t answer that question… everyone seemed pleasant and cool enough, what with the likes of me, a somewhat freaky looking old long haired guy, hanging around.
Beach Betty’s is located in a little strip mall practically next to a pizza place which will deliver over to the bar. It’s also situated next to Betty’s Leather, so you can do eat, drink and leather up all in one location.
It’s also kind of neat in that it sits back somewhat from the parking area, allows smoking, and has a couple of tables and chairs outside for so you can get away from the crowd, in the event there is a crowd.
It’s clean, neat, serves a very good drink at a reasonable price, has a happy hour, a couple of pool tables and various theme party nights like karaōke and DJ. All in all, a very laid back, nice, no hassle, cool type of environment.
Odd that the only Unilocal about Beach Betty’s seem to be from guys.

This is my only experience with a lesbian bar, but the girls have told me this is is the best one in the area. They are friendly to everyone as long as you are not anti-​gay or think you are going to change their ways. The place is a beach bar located in a strip mall and has pool tables, darts and big screen tv’s. On Sunday nights they have poker and karoake There is a pizza place next to it where you can order Italian food from and they will bring it to you at the bar.
